To anyone having trouble joining or inviting:

Have everyone involved exit out of the game and then relaunch the game.

Wait until you're completely loaded into the Space Rig (main hub where you can run around)

And then try try to invite or accept invites.

If this doesn't work, have everyone reboot consoles/PCs, and try again

Just reinstalled from the old version as required when I launched tonight on PC. Installed fine, accepted a mission, tried to join multiple servers, infinite joining spinner. Acts frozen, but I can hit Esc and try again but the results are always the same. Tried solo on a mission with open hosting and it crashes the game once my load bar finishes. Seems multiplayer related, as a solo no host game loads in fine

Devs regularly read through these channels. Bugs go in #bug-discussion and devs don’t need to be pinged unless it’s a massive issue. Not being able to invite is an inconvenience.

Nope, you've never been able to invite directly through Discord unless you use the Steam version afaik.

Discord can detect and report that you are playing Deep Rock on the Windows Store version, but the invite/join through Discord only works for the Steam version

If that is the case, I would recommend running a sticky flames build. On tier 1, High Pressure Ejector, On tier 2, Unfiltered Fuel. On tier 3, Sticky Flames slowdown. On tier 4, Sticky Flame Duration, and on tier 5, heat radiance.

It's important to aim this towards the ground of enemies with this build, as it will slow their movement significantly. Use it like a can of paint to paint areas where enemies are going to move to, and once they are in that "painted" area, let them burn with the main stream of the gun.

Also keep in mind that it is important to be conservative with your ammo, never shoot more than you need. You can do this by relying on your impact axes, teammates, and subata to do damage to larger targets. (i.e. praetorians, oppressors, bulk detonators, mactera goo bombers, breeders)

Yes. However, when you get the chance, I believe that you should run the cryo cannon and EPC. It's harder to master, but it pays off. For now though, stick to the flamethrower, it's very fun.

In Salt Pits, find one of those absolutely gigantic rooms that's more or less barrel-shaped with the large spherical outcrops. Hang out there up on a ledge or outcrop for a while and you'll eventually get enough shellbacks spawned in below you that they might as well be a wave

I've had frame-rate reducing numbers of shellbacks rolling around. It was comical and also practically instant death if you went down into the pit

Only thing I can think of off the top of my head is the usual course of action: reboot, make sure video drivers and Windows are up-to-date, and uninstall then reinstall. I don't think I've crashed once since the update 31.5, but before that it could happen occasionally, but infrequently. I haven't seen too many reports of crashes from others lately, either. Most of the trouble seems to be with the server browser or joining, and some of that seems to be from the new volume of players since DRG because available on GamePass

Most important tip: Rock and Stone at every appropriate opportunity. Common times to Rock and Stone is to say "hello" or "goodbye," or "well done" and "thank you," or "I'm ready." It might sound like a joke, but if you don't Rock and Stone, you ain't coming home

Last I checked on any of this stuff, you could set your Xbox as your primary system, then you could log in somewhere else to play, and someone else could log in on their account on your Xbox and play. Beyond that I'm not sure how it would work online

I believe you are attempting to use the game sharing in a manner for which is it not designed. I don't blame you or judge you for trying, but I am not surprised that the game is not functioning as it should. I'd be surprised by any game that let you and 3 friends play multiplayer together using only one purchase

I'm not saying there's nothing out there that will work, but I would not expect any game to work like that. It is just not how the game sharing functionality is designed to work as far as I understand it

I would be surprised if you have significant trouble with crashes when using separate copies. A ton of work recently went into the Xbox and Windows Store versions, and, aside from the recent influx of new players causing some issues with the server browser (that sounded like it got resolved pretty quickly), things have been more stable and there hasn't been any major issues that I've seen reported here

Also with the influx, it is much more likely for someone to encounter issues and report them. I have had a few major issues with the Microsoft Store version of the game, but they eventually resolved. But plenty of other people are fine or not fine, it is really just luck for the most part, always an outlier.

With a little quick searching, most of what I've seen makes it sound like the family share stuff designed for at most 2 people to be able to use a game at the same time, one person on the game owner's "home console" and one person on another device that the game owner is logged into. It's only authenticated for one account, with the owner's "home console" being authenticated as well as the owner's account if logged in elsewhere

It's hard to find anything official on numbers of users or simultaneous use

I realize that applies more to console use of the feature, but I imagine the PC use is similar. As it is, game share features not withstanding, many games and software titles have clauses that forbid their use in multiple places at the same time without owning multiple licenses

Due to Microsoft's requirements for the Xbox, there are significant limitations on crash or error logging, especially logs that would be available to users. The devs are able to get some crash and error logs when crashes occur, but I believe even those are not as full-featured as would be ideal. If I remember correctly, if a crash occurs it does save some amount of info to the Windows clipboard, and you can paste that info into a text file or even here in chat. It does not often seem too useful for us from what I've seen, but it might be of more use to the devs

If you have any info to offer, such as what you're doing when it crashes, does it crash to desktop or just back to the space rig, anything like that, it wouldn't be bad to mention it here. Especially if there is anything specific you can do to make it crash consistently, that info makes it a lot easier to find and fix problems. The more info the devs have the better, and they do read this channel to see how things are going on these versions

You can see if it crashes when you play with a public lobby while your friends are offline, to confirm it has nothing to do with game sharing

The crash when restarting after a crash might be because Windows hasn't finished handling the crash before you're trying to relaunch the game, but that's just speculation

And Tracervullet makes an excellent point. You should try to play multiplayer player with strangers to rule out some kind of issue with friends and game sharing

As long as you can be sure that friends with game sharing won't be accidentally trying to play at the same time. It would be nice if Microsoft would give some kind of feedback regarding that, but I do think you may be trying to use it in a way in which it was not designed to work. It's been hard to find any official info about it

Since the game just became available on GamePass within the past few days, I would imagine there's a lot of new players who wouldn't have any blank cores to use on machine events and many players are probably seeing them for the first time as well. I would not expect machine events with random folks to go perfectly smoothly in the best of situations, but right now a lot of folks are still learning what they are and at the same time have no vested interest in completing them as you get the XP either way

@limber sand I don't believe I've seen that problem exactly, but I do believe if you are at the mission summary screen you do receive credit for completing the mission and should get the XP, credits, and minerals for doing so. I'm basing that on the fact that I've crashed at the mission summary screen and even just before the mission summary screen, and when loading back into the game I do believe I have credit for completing the mission

I think it's just before. I've not been able to verify the minerals and XP to be 100% sure as I don't know what I had before starting to see if the numbers changed, but I know I've gotten credit for completing a mission that was part of an assignment, so I suspect you get the XP, etc. as well
