I know that a lot of updates are "rolled out" slowly in waves when updating automatically, but when you force a search for it, it should always download the newest version available (or even better, give you an option of which version you'd like to install, but I know that isn't really the way Microsoft does things...)

Other than a hiccup when my friend tried to join me earlier today, it's been exactly what it should be for us. After he tried to join me, I tried joining him and it worked right away. Had a weirdly long load time into the first mission of the day, but I attributed that to cache-ing shaders or some other nonsense that sounds like I know what I'm talking a out but actually only barely. But good so far

@regal breach I can’t join any games at all on server list it says lost connection and if I do it more then once it caused my game to crash I posted crash log earlier and Axel said Thursday or Friday u guys will get crash logs.

The ghost of pinned messages thinks this. I suspect, but I can't prove, that the system in place to prevent different versions of the game from joining each other has failed on the update version. These networking issues were solved on the insider branch a few weeks ago.

These connection issues were fairly common on steam before that system was put in place to prevent different game versions from joining each other.

#

But he can’t prove it and I remember that DRG joining said wrong version a long while ago.

Well you Will get that error if you try to join someone on another version of the game. But it should be easy enough to check if one of you host a game, and another tries to join it, both using the new version

They've mentioned that they're not mentioning any plans for an enhanced for Series X/S build at this time. I don't believe it's been entirely ruled out, but they're not committing to anything at the moment. That said, framerate would likely improve automatically to some degree on the basis that the hardware is more powerful (provided the framerate is not locked on consoles, of course)

Subtitles is the strangest setting. No one can agree in where it belongs. Some games have it in the Audio settings, some in Gameplay, and still others in UI. Wherever they put it will still not match 2/3 of the other games out there, and players will still be forced to guess which menu it's in until they find it

the audio bugs should be fixed when U32 drops. I know there was an issue with the autocannon at full ROF. That was fixed pretty quickly.

It’s the same as it was on insider it’s broken and after about 25 missions it worked and then broke

Also using a controller on options isn’t aligned correctly. I have to move cursor around to select the option I need.

And sometimes it doesn’t always check it or uncheck it. I have to use a mouse to select options better then a controller

#

It’s like the game doesn’t recognize the controller as a mouse when selecting or unselecting options

I tried checking and unchecking push to talk and voice chat several times nothing worked only thing that seem to make it work for a while was like what happened in insider have someone join and it worked and when someone left it broke

So um. My grenades didn't work 1 mission? My landmines would appear in my hand, I'd throw them, including aiming and the little animation. And it would just blink out of existance in my hand and nothing would come out. I'll have to look into it more tomorrow. But an interesting anecdote at least.

I can confirm that invisible aquarcs are not just nibbles hallucinating, my whole group (except the host) wasn't able to see them during the EDD

Has anyone else noticed after killing all the Dreadnoughts in a Elimination, the audio stays low after Mission Control speaks the Primary Objective Completion message? I noticed the issues after running 3x different Elimination missions, and after the last mission everyone else confirmed it as well.

Ah, okay. I've experienced a few rather long mission load times since the update. Way longer load times than usual. And I get to enjoy the loud whoosh about 7 or 8 times before it finally calms down

With the new update the main bugs I'm getting are mostly sound related. Besides not being able to join through server list like everyone else. The networking on the other hand works really well and i haven't had a single crash or disconnect yet.

It should be a significant improvement. I think the worst I've seen mentioned here is Windows Store players having trouble joining games from the server list. I have not tried to join a game like that, but I've had no trouble with crossplay with my friend, and with our missions set to public we have had random folks join us pretty consistently.

It's not a completely objective statement, but I do believe it feels a little better than before the update. I'm not noticing the lag and rubberbanding I was experiencing when folks join our game, and I was seeing it every time someone joined before the update.

It's probably worth giving it a try again, especially if you have friends to play with. I don't think I've seen any reports of people not being able to join and play with friends. However, we're probably about a month (maybe a little less) away from Update 32, which will have new content, including 2 new mission types that look pretty neat, so waiting a little longer to jump back in would also bring some new experiences as well as improved stability

Just finished playing deep rock with friends, and noticed 2 bugs: 1. Jadiz disappeared from my friend’s screen, meaning nibbles is right about the bug existing. 2. After mission control says the line about setting up the uplink during salvage, the text box doesn’t go away, meaning the sound effects are suppressed. Other than that, the game went smoothly. (Xbox specifically)

Some folks have reported having issues connecting to games from the server browser on the Windows Store version. I'm not sure how widespread it is, and I haven't tried myself. I have no doubt it will get fixed, but it might take a little time if the devs cannot easily reproduce the problem.

It seems like folks have no trouble joining friends or joining by invite, so that is an option. Also, if you host, folks (but perhaps only Xbox folks) should be able to join you, at least

Well, Bjorn might not be sure about aquarqs not being visible or interactable for some players, but I sure am. Did the Elite Deep Dive with two friends last night, one on PC and one on Xbox. I was host on PC.

In the second stage, neither of them could see the aquarq or pick them up. They could mine them though, if I pointed out exactly where to dig. I had to find and turn in all of them by myself. It took a while, especially because my friends didn't realize they couldn't see them at first and didn't say anything. They just thought they were getting unlucky everywhere they were searching.

It wasn't until I had a pile of them out and I needed a hand getting 'em up to the rig that we all finally realized what was happening. It was kinda funny, but only because we managed to beat it

I was doing an Egg mission last night as Driller and apparently I mined out 5 or 6 Enor pearls, But I had to rely on the Engineer (Host) to pick them up, As I couldent see (Or hear them)

@hot current You should not lose progress as when you reinstall the game should sync your cloud save data. However, it is never a bad idea to make a backup copy of your save file

This link is discussing transferring your save files between Steam and Windows Store versions, but it should get you to your save file location so you can make a backup for peace of mind.

Ive seen mission objects but not grenades. Other than the grenades though I haven't suffered anomolous invisibility issues. Not sure if that helps at all.

@regal breach @tidal night From what I've experienced, hosts can see everything and interact with everything, but clients cannot see or pick up items that are exhibiting the bug

On the Elite Deep Dive this week, I was host. On stage two, both friends I was playing with, one on Xbox One X and one on PC could not see or pick up the Aquarq. I had to turn in every Aquarq myself as I was the only one who could see them. I even gathered about 6 in one spot, and they could not interact with them. However, they could mine the out of the wall if I pointed to exactly where the Aquarq was.

Two days ago, I was connected to one of those same friends, the one on PC. I am also on PC. He pointed to a patch of Jadiz for me to place a platform, but there was nothing there on my screen. Even when he got it out and picked it up, there was nothing to be seen and no green light emitted.

It's almost as if for clients, some items just do not generate at all at mission load. The items are there for the host, but just don't exist at all for the clients. But since they exist for the host, even if it's the client that digs the terrain around an object, it would still pop out and be ready to be picked up by the host

If you own it on Xbox then you can download it from the windows store for free. If you want to transfer a save to steam, you’ll need the win store version downloaded. Steam is a separate copy of the game so if you want it there too you’ll need to buy it again.

Online communication restricted means you've been reported by other xbox users for violating the terms of conduct (usually saying something salty or toxic like 12 year olds on COD used to do). Basically they're enforcing that stuff tighter now that the new xbox is coming out soon. If this is your first offense it should only last a day or two. Second warning lasts for a week. 3rd strike they terminate your account and you lose all purchases you don't have as a physical object as well as all your saves.

There are several reasons that could cause serverlist/hosting buttons being greyed out or getting communication error messages, here's a list of things you can check that might fix these kinds of issues:

Serverlist/hosting games is greyed out:

Check your user privileges! It might be that you have a setting that does not allow online play. (this can be done by going to https://account.xbox.com/Settings and checking the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online safety tab)
Make sure you're on the latest version of deep rock (try restarting the game and check for a update, if that doesn't help try a restart of your PC/Xbox)
If you are playing on Xbox: do you have a active Gold membership?

Online communication restricted:

Check your user privileges! It might be that you have a setting that does not allow online Communications. (this can be done by going to https://account.xbox.com/Settings and checking the Privacy tab)
Make sure you're on the latest version of deep rock (try restarting the game and check for a update, if that doesn't help try a restart of your PC/Xbox)
You might've expressed yourself in a way that broke the ToS of Xbox Live and your communication privileges may have been revoked on all Xbox Live connected games.

Communication to/from some players is blocked:

Check your user privileges! It might be that you have a setting that does not allow online Communications. (this can be done by going to https://account.xbox.com/Settings and checking the Privacy tab). If you have the setting "Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites" set to "Friends" You will ONLY see messages from your friends.
You might have blocked/muted the other player trying to chat.
The other person writing in chat might have a restricted privileges or blocked you.
