Xbox , reporting skins bug , engineer , i took a picture of skins config when happens but i forgot to take one of the bug . Texture goes out the charactere in every direction , sometime i cant see because they in front of camera . Restart the game fix it . But the bug stay in and out of the lobby . I can see the bug in every menu of weapons and skins in the command center as well . Got a picture now !

Perhaps it'll be included as part of the framework overhaul. There's a few things like this that are not a big deal but are currently absent. At least text chat isn't required to play the game, not that entering text via controller is a fun experience. Thankfully most things can be communicated without voice or text communication

You're free to not understand, but when randos join, and have mics, he hears them, then he uses his xbox headset which is different from his phone headset to talk back to them. Then we all join an xbox party chat, and we all talk no problem. Until we join an xbox party, I can't hear anyone in-game, which is less than ideal, but also not a big deal

I get that it doesn't work for you, but stating that it's not included and acting like the devs forgot about it is inaccurate. I figured I'd provide as much evidence as possible. Whether you believe me or not doesn't change anything. The feature is there, and does work for some without any unique setups. That being said, there are a ton of issues with the Xbox and Windows Store versions of the game, due to UWP, that the devs are working on resolving by overhauling these versions. It's entirely possible the voice chat issue is only experienced by some, yourself included, and hopefully that's one of the issues that gets resolved with the overhaul

Yeeees, and no. Party chat works fine. Game chat doesn't work for outgoing voice for me but I can hear randos fine.

Btw, I never said the devs didn't put game chat in the game. It is clearly there. I just said it wasn't working right and might as well be non existent because of that.

Also, just as a closing note. Xbox players need a rejoin feature for games they get disconnected from. One of many examples as to why being that yesterday I spent an absurd amount of time harvesting all the gold from a detonator just to lose connection and get nothing for it.

You came at it a lot differently, and while I totally understand the frustration and it's quite reasonable, it wasn't constructive. Thank you for having an actual conversation with us about it. The hope is that update 32 will have some major improvement including the disconnecting issues. The not being able to rejoin is a bummer. It seems to work fine sometimes, but not always, and that seems to be part of the connection issues. The texture bug is just as bad. Hopefully in several weeks time we'll look back on this and laugh

So Windows Store and Xbox games have had to use a framework called UWP. The game is made with Unreal Engine, and then packaged up for our versions with an Unreal Engine-to-UWP plugin. The devs upgraded DRG to use a newer version of Unreal Engine, but whoever made the Unreal-to-UWP plugin has stopped updating the plugin for new versions of Unreal

Hmm. I don't think there would be a water biome unless maybe they made it into a hazard. Like similar to the wind tunnels but with torrents of water that come rushing in and flood cave systems if you don't mine carefully enough to avoid pockets of water or something.

Though I think it's unlikely because they'd probably have to add new animations for swimming then, but if they're up to the to the task then maybe.

Yeah so I'd say they're like giant squid or colossal squid compared to regular squid.

They just have the right selective natural pressures to evolve to a deeper magma core area. I posit though that evolutionarily the splodie bois are a part of their lineage and could be the source if they changed to the proper environment and then had different natural pressures for evolution to become bulk detonators.

Some organisms like ants use other insects as a food source. They do it either by literally cattling them or straight out hunting them. I think the maggots and loot bugs are their main food source @sly stone

Judging by the effect of scout's pheromone canister, glyphids clearly have no problem eating each other when given the correct chemical signals. It's possible that, like chephalopods, they will prey on other members of their species once they have mated or grown old (outlived their usefulness)

This could be another pressure working against a bulk species that may take many years to reach sexual maturity or even properly be able to defend itself

Also I agree to a degree @sly stone , but then there's clearly room for mega fauna so the question is, what are the natural pressures in regions or sub regions of hoxxes that do select for mega fauna.

I mean we have Praetors, oppressors, dreadnaughts, and bulk detonators so there's clearly some sort of pressures for these things to exist and perpetuate their existence unless the megafauna is being selected out and we are helping to make them extinct.

Oh oh oh. Perhaps bulk detonators are actually the earlier lineage in evolution of the small exploders. As in they are the leftovers of a species that is likely slowly being faded out via competition with the new more adapted species of exploders since the theory is that hoxxes is more conducive for smaller glyphids.

@crimson bear the stability on the framework is being worked but other than the occasional disconnect and an easy to fix PC chat to Xbox chat frequency change ( to prevent static). There are no large impactful differences.

Hello! I have been trying to play the game with my friends on xbox. I have the microsoft store version, and the xbox app installed.
I get these two issues that make it impossible to play with them:
1: When inviting them to my game, they enter an infinite loading screen.
2: When someone invites me, it always says "Multiplayer Session Ended" and I cannot join, even fi they already have someone in their party (meaning the session cannot have ended)Tested with two different players, one in my county, one in another.

is this the channel to seek help? i tried the microsoft store people, but they just gave me a refund.

Resetting internet.
Adding windows defender exceptions.
Opening ports.
Re-installing.
Restarting consoles.
Clicking the "Fix It" button in Xbox networking. Teredo is always unable to qualify.

@zinc wadi Right now the Xbox and Windows Store versions are experiencing some random bugs, some relating to networking and multiplayer like what you've experienced. The devs are working on it, and hope to have it fixed in the next update.

In the meantime, since you've already tried a lot of the common fixes, try having everyone exit out of the game completely, and then have everyone restart the game within a few minutes of each other. Wait until everyone is loaded into the space rig before trying to join or accept invites. If that doesnt work, everyone should reboot their PC/Xbox and try that again. It doesn't seem to work for everyone, but if does work pretty much every single time for my friends and I

Unfortunately, the game recently moved to a newer version Unreal Engine, and the Unreal Engine to UWP plugin, used to build the Xbox/Windows Store versions, is not being updated to support the newer Unreal Engine version. It has led to a lot of very different and very unpredictable bugs in those versions that have proven hard to reproduce and fix, so the devs decided it would be better to completely overhaul the UWP framework, which is a significant amount of work, than to try to find and patch each individual bug

Since you've already repurchased, give the everyone exit game and restart method a shot. It almost always works on the first try and it might do the trick for you. Once we're in together we don't have any further connection issues

Just had a mining mission and found a lost pack shortly before other players started joining me. Was able to direct them all to it. The Gunner that joined was causing that spikey model bug for me and offered to hide away from the team and get left behind just so he wouldn't cause me too much issue. We made due despite it and ended up all making it back to the drop pod. Everybody's just being good fuckin' dwarves.

It’s not really game breaking when you could just not do that very specific thing, nibbles. Game breaking would be missions that are not completable by normal progression. Shooting yourself out of the map is a deliberate non-occuring thing, so it would not be prioritized as a game breaking bug, since you’d have to actively seek it out to do it.

This doesn't need a reply (honestly) - I just want to vent for just a moment and say I'm really miffed that to play with my siblings on Xbox, my wife and I have to buy the whole game again (we have Steam copies) - and I'd also be buying my brother his copy as he is unemployed.. so in total we'd have paid £125. If you are not the scout you will die unless you have the hover boots perk on or something. First time I did it I was the gunner on low grav, still died of course, engineer friend with nuke grenade launcher tried to blow the roof open but nuke didn't quite get high enough even on low gravity

If he put a platform down in the center and then called ammo drop, it would of knocked me down as ammo spawns above the normal roof level

#

Anyway I'm still looking for new ways outside of the space rig, I found a few places that nerarly work, like half your body get's out but can't do the jump up animation to get out

#

The only way I know currently is playing with someone on the other side of the planet to get high ping, have barrels in the launch bay and jump into them by walls till it speed shots you through a wall, I've done it only once before unintentionally by accident

@edgy jackal Because they're two separate, non-compatible systems, I don't believe there's any way to do that. In theory, and this is speaking in general not about Deep Rock specifically, a developer/publisher could probably get your account info for Steam and Microsoft, contact both, and remove the license from one account and add it to the other, but that would probably take a bit of time and a lot of coordination. I'm not sure if that possibility exists for Deep Rock. And whether it does or doesn't, the devs are on vacation for a few weeks currently.

That being said, if you want to take matters into your own hands, your best bet would be to request a refund on Steam, and then re-buy from the Windows Store. In the end that might be your only option anyway

Well, in theory it shouldn't be a problem because cloud saves and the recent work to make sure a save backup system is working...

You could try installing DRG on a PC, and then running it once to get your cloud save. Then you could make a copy of the save file to be sure you have a backup. If you reinstall and there's an issue, you can fire up the PC version again to try to update the cloud save. Just make sure to always copy the backup file instead of move. That way you'll always have that backup in case you need to try again

By the look of it, it is all automatic and should just work. I know the devs recently made an effort to fix some issues folks had with losing saves, and I haven't seen anyone mention any issues since. I would bet money you'll be fine, and I'm not a gambler. It is annoying and scary that you just have to trust it to work right though. I'd love some way to verify cloud data, but I didn't see anything in that article about that; it's practically more marketing than tech support...

I think Sony will continue to do fine. They have good exclusives. Microsoft does seem to have a more forward thinking strategy and the infrastructure to back it up, but it ultimately comes down to games

Crossplay never seemed to be the problem in Sea of Thieves... there were (and still are, by the sounds of it) other things that were problems...

It just comes down to what game engine developers choose and unreal game engine is not great for crossplay

I never liked SoT’s crossplay as it’s between PC and Console. I prefer it to be only between Console to Console.

If it’s a game where killing a player isn’t the point like DRG. I might give it a exclusion pass.

Anything with PVP where a person aiming with a mouse has a natural advantage is going to be rougher for controller players, but that being said, SoT's PVP issues were not due to controller vs kb/m

#

Hit detection and infinite loading screens on death during PVP were (and I believe still are) much more significant issues

#

Plus, a good player with controller could kill a kb/m player (especially if I am the kb/m player...)

And I believe nowadays you can choose to match with controller-only

Using kb/m on console? Yeah, you'll get try-hards doing that sometimes, but it goes both ways. You'll get PC players using controller because they prefer it or because it's more accessible to them. I agree that it isn't always the best, and it can be problematic especially in a more competitive game, but I still think anything that makes games more accessible and allows more people to play together is in general a really good thing
