possibly but you'll need to experiment with where the "hard" license lives for the xbox version.
only one version of the game can be played without you logged in (i.e. hard license) and any other version played requires you to be logged in. If both copies are played by your account, one will kick the other one out (I had this issue with Minecraft Dungeons where my wife played on xbox and I played on PC upstairs)

Hi...hoping to find someone to point me in the right direction to resolve this issue. My son and I are trying to play multiplayer together (both Win 10 PC) but keep getting hard crashes to the desktop about 10-20 min into our first mission. No errors, nothing related to DRG in the Event Viewer. The crash happens to whoever is hosting. We are both able to play fine solo and I've played with remote friends for several hours without issue. I've tried setting both machine to "Prefer IPv4" but no luck

@muted condor I still experience crashes to desktop during missions in the Crystalline Caverns biome. It seems to be related to the electric crystals that are often present only in that biome. I don't believe I've experienced crashes other than that, but I'm always wary of Crystalline Caverns because it's unpredictable

It is frustrating. And it's possible your crashes are related to networking rather than the electric crystals like mine seem to be. There are a few networking issues currently plaguing a fair number of players on the Xbox and Windows Store versions. The devs are working on overhauling these versions to resolve these issues, but it's going to take some time

i reset my teredo adaptor to default and i couldnt play drg because i was not able to talk to hosts computer/xbox correctly then i went into settings on computer to fix it and restart computer and it fixed it
basically i was able to reproduce multiplayer issues on windows 10 and fix them about 3 times before i got tired of fixing it and i went to play drg instead, trying my best to reproduce multiplayer issues and find a fix for windows 10 drg players

Is there any way I can recover my data? When I got on today everything was completely wiped, all my dwarves were level 1. I tried to download my profile on another xbox, but didn't realize it was signed into a different account when I tried getting on.. I uninstalled the game and redownloaded it on my xbox and now that second xbox's save is "my" save when I try to get on mine.

No way to access older cloud saves to use as a backup.
Only options are to delete the current save from various source(s) to get the older cloud save or to reinstall the game to get it to download (which why would you do that when you don't expect it to be reset?).
Which may have worked during the first level 1 login that made a cloud save.
If you can replicate the save duplication from the other account fairly easily without screwing up that account, you could try deleting your current cloud save multiple times and see if you end up with the original one. That would be quite the good test with potential good news.

You could try deleting the current save a few times until you get an older one.
It is pretty much "delete from console" in hopes that it'll restore to a previous cloud save that wasn't reset.

Steam players can only play with other Steam players. Xbox and Windows 10 players can play with each other.

@lament wagon My understanding is that there are currently no plans for crossplay between Steam and Xbox/Windows players, but that there are some changes coming to the Xbox/Windows version (supposedly dropping the UWP framework?) and that that might open up the possibility for crossplay for all in the future. Seems like it's still unlikely to ever happen unless the update process for Xbox speeds up considerably, but I guess we'll see!

@upper dew Both you and your friend should try rebooting your PCs, and then launching the game within a few minutes of each other. Both of you should load completely into the space rig before one tries to join the other
I get some issues joining friends using the Game Bar, and a reboot seems to reliably fix the Game Bar issue. As long as everyone I'm playing with, either PC or Xbox, along with myself, completely exits and relaunches Deep Rock within a few minutes of each other, we haven't had a single issue playing together

No problem. I hope it helps. It doesn't seem to work for everyone, but it seems to work every time for us. A bit of a hassle, but the game loads relatively quickly. This will all hopefully be fixed by the devs as part of the overhaul they're working on
Also, once we get in the space rig together we have no problems playing for a solid few hours straight (barring my occasional crash-to-desktop that seems to be caused by electric crystals in Crystalline Caverns)

There are known connectivity issues with the Windows Store and Xbox versions. It is possible that Deep Rock experiences poor network performance because of the existing issues. So maybe the wifi is fine for most games, but Deep Rock is approaching the limits of your current setup because Deep Rock isn't doing the connection stuff flawlessly
But if it worked well previously, give the router a reboot. Typically unplugging the power from the router for 60 seconds, and then plugging back in should do it

While I was playing today, I noticed that more than 39 meters away from a jadiz clump, the green lights vanished. Is that intentional?
Also had a point extraction mission that went on a bit too long and eventually the bugs' pathing got messed up. Instead of chasing me, most of them go caught turning side to side and making very little forward progress

No, I'd get it. I just wanted to give you fair warning if you had the option between Steam and the others. Right now the console and microsoft store version suffer from meshes stretching out, some crashes and connectivity issues that can usually be resolved.

i experienced a bug where the mule mission got stocked at the fuel cells getting announced and the beeping stuck on a loop. I couldnt proceed on the mission and had to kill my character in order to exit. I have a clip of gameplay that shows the bug

the last update i have for deep rock was done on june 24rth. i can not join anyones lobby so i searched for an update an there is no update. i then tried to download windows 2004 and it failed so i went to the website and tried to download it. It tells me this pc cant be updated.

@tribal prawn Some folks have had luck with the pinned fixes, but I don't think it's worked for everyone. I don't think anything has changed recently. I suppose it's possible that the update from the 24th has made things worse for you, but I wouldn't suspect that to be the case and I haven't seen other people specifically saying they've had trouble since the update. It's tough that you don't have access to the router, because it's possible that there's other things on the network that's causing conflicts. You might need to setup port forwarding to resolve the issue, but that doesn't help you if you can't access the router

No problem! Totally understandable; so many games, if one isn't cooperating there's plenty that will! And Deep Rock isn't going anywhere, so when the devs get the connection issues taken care of, or when your router situation is resolved, there will be more mining to be done

@wraith compass Yep. If there's no shock crystals then I'm fine. If there are shock crystals then it might be a little less than a 50% chance I'll crash to desktop. It feels like it's improved: before leaving early access it felt like more than 75% of the time I'd crash if there were shock crystals present
I've gotten into the habit of not hosting games because of the crashes. When playing on Steam (which I do far less, so that might be part of it) I don't believe I've ever had a crash due to shock crystals

Hi all, we just pushed a build that includes all the hotfixes and the Restore Save functionality to Xbox/MS Store. Please let us know if it looks like its working fine! The Restore save list will initially be empty, but should create new saves around every hour when game data is saved. You can also trigger it by exiting the game and reopening it.
And just to be clear, unfortunately it does not work retroactively, so it will not restore saves that are already lost.
The update should be out in 1-60min

Hello, my post has been recommended to be reposted on here. I play the game on xbox and pc and encountered multiple crashes when I try to join anyone elses game. This has occured since the most recent patch that dropped today. In the meantime 3 other people confirmed to have the same issue, logging in and solo play is working just fine on Xbox. Any feedback if anyone else has the same problem would be highly appreciated 🙂

Sheesh. Encountered a Tyrant weed for the first time, with a team of randos on a Salvage mission, Lethal Enemies warning. Another player and I were Engies, and we had a Driller and Scout. Scout separated from the group and started the weed fight on his own less than two minutes into the mission. We had no nitra. He proceeded to focus on repairing the minimules while the rest of us tried desperately to take care of the weed while grabbing the bits of Nitra we could and fighting off an ever-growing horde of Glyphids. Scout then calls in a resupply in an area on the opposite side of the map where none of us rest of us were able to reach. The three of us actually in the fight scrambled to collect 80 more Nitra to be able to actually kill the damn thing since we all were completely out before we'd even managed to finish off the first 1/3 of its health bar. Finally finished it after about 20 minutes. Anyway the mission ended with all of us but the Scout going down as we barely managed to finish the refuel (Scout was nowhere near the objective). He then waits until the drop pod opens, then with less than 30 seconds left to get in decides that now he should also try to revive a teammate. He revives me and I pretty much instantly go back down since I've got two Slashers and several grunts on me. Scout thankfully gets on the drop pod with two seconds left so we didn't fail.
Easily the most infuriating successful mission I've ever had.

But seriously, that's rough. My friend and I have been running open parties since 1.0, and we've had pretty good experiences overall. However, we've had one or two go less than ideally due to a player or two just not trying to work as a team or pay attention to anyone else, like you're describing. We try to finish those missions as fast as possible and disband the team immediately after, but for a case like yours, that scout would have been kicked the second they called in ammo across the map for just themselves. We don't like to do it, but we have limited game time these days and we're not trying to be frustrated by an unfriendly player

Yeah honestly I don't think I'd have had so much trouble if he'd at least helped with the Korlok. But we really could have used the extra ranged firepower, or even just the occasional revive. He would probably do well to play solo some more if that's what he's looking for.

We try to give the random folks a few chances, and newer players even more. And we've been playing Haz 3 because his son just started walking and his attention is often split, so I tend to have to carry a bit and it's been nice to chill, hang out, and not try too hard. And it means the occasional random folks we get can't cause too much frustration, so it usually works out well
Those Korloks can be tough though, especially if they spawn in a lousy spot and you don't have a lot of ammo. At least the health is in segments

Yeah, it's all manual. You can repeat the steps to copy the most up-to-date save file back and forth as much as you like, but there is no automatic syncing

Xbox , reporting skins bug , engineer , i took a picture of skins config when happens but i forgot to take one of the bug . Texture goes out the charactere in every direction , sometime i cant see because they in front of camera . Restart the game fix it . But the bug stay in and out of the lobby . I can see the bug in every menu of weapons and skins in the command center as well .
Il’ send a picture when it happens again . Maybe twice in 2-3 hours of games

@stark kindle The devs are aware, and are working on it as part of their framework overhaul. Earlier today they said they hope to have the framework overhaul done in time for the next game update
In the meantime, all you can do is what you've been doing, restart the game. Sometimes if the texture that is glitching can be removed (if it's a piece of dwarf armor or cosmetic item, change the armor or cosmetic item, if it's part of a cave, destroy that part of the cave if possible) the problem will go away, but if that doesn't work, it seems like restarting is your only guaranteed-to-work option
Also, it seems to only affect the Xbox console version, so if you have a PC available you can download the Windows Store version and avoid the issue entirely

If you can figure out the source of the wall, and it's not a dwarf, you can try to destroy the source and that might make it go away. If it's a dwarf all you can do is back out or kick the player

That's alright. I would suggest not deleting files as you transfer saves around, that way you'll always have a backup. For things like this I tend to add the date to the file name, and add ".backup" to the end. It's a bit more of a hassle, because you have to rename a few files each time you copy a save to the other version, but it's failsafe
I don't really expect the devs to put in too much time trying to make copying saves easier, because I suspect it would be a good bit of work and it would probably only affect a very small portion of their audience
As for crossplay with Steam, that's very much up in the air. I suspect the devs would love to do it if it were quick and easy to do and wouldn't create a lot of support work in the future, but at this time there is no official word on that happening. But who knows? The devs seem like they have a plan for supporting DRG for a while, and maybe Microsoft and Steam will eventually get together and make it easy to enable crossplay
