Update is great, my friend and I had a lot of fun last night. Ended up playing 4 or so hours unintentionally. My only complaint is that there is no Windowed Fullscreen option for the Microsoft Store version still.

Considering that the game is in early access for Xbox, it wouldn't make sense to make DLC for an unfinished game

plus Microsoft wouldn't really appreciate it.

So until the game actually releases as a full game and not early access, we all may be able to buy the Supporter upgrade

The autocannon is so OP it make me think the first gun needs a buff to even be viable other than just for meming or farming til you get autocannon then just never use it again

Anyone else have any issues joining their friends via Xbox/Windows? I just got the game on Windows and my roommate has it for Xbox but whenever we try to join eachother it wont connect us, says "Mulitplayer session ended"

I had a disaster getting Deep Rock Galactic to work on Windows 10.

Consistent inability to get into the game.

#

Crashing, freezing, the game runs pretty terribly.

#

Within 2 days I had reinstalled the game about 6 times (used to have to reinstall for every update due to it breaking) and about 40 restarts.

#

A ton of other people have had the same issue.

#

Not like the above (never seen that before), but the game not functioning is common.

#

That is why it is rated so badly and a lot of negative reviews on the Microsoft Store.

#

I even went to Microsoft Support about it to see if they had any idea that it is happening and if they have any suggestions. Only thing they suggested was a refund, which I declined.

#

Seems a lot better now though, so it must've been something weird going on for that build.

The QA team for Xbox/Windows 10 is smaller I believe, so updates take a bit longer. You can usually post in the bug discussion around mornings US EDT. Sometimes devs or other helpful community members will chime in to help get you up and running. Sometimes it's just as simple as a driver update.

I'm not sure if the Windows 10 runs in standalone mode, but you could try compatibility wizard. Click start button, and start typing compatibility. You should see something pop-up that says run programs designed for earlier versions of windows. Click that, and go through the wizard, select DRG from the programs list when it populates. You could alternatively right-click the desktop icon or shortcut, choose "troubleshoot compatibility."

It's a little bit of A and a little bit of B. Once we finish the Steam build, we release it and start testing the Xbox build. This means we also get to include the hotfixes, which is good, since it takes longer to release on console. Once we feel it's good to go, we submit it and reserve a date to release it. If the build is rejected, that means we might not make it on that date, and will have to reschedule it.. Sometimes the builds are rejected for a good reason and sometimes it's not. We always try to get the Xbox build to go out as soon as humanly possible, but this time there was a few unexpected bumps.

the game is peer to peer, so it's very dependent on host and connection to the host.

Basically have whoever has the least number of people in their home or highest speed internet host the game. If they have roommates/family streaming video/downloading things, their xbox is competing for that bandwidth. Packets with data could be dropped, causing lag or disconnects.

Or like Captaincobra said, could be WiFi issue too. If they're in a dense area with other WiFi signals, like an apartment building. In that case ethernet/network cable from router/modem directly to the xbox would be effective.

I'm in the USA on xbox, and I've had some great games with people all over the world. Italy, France, Germany, Great Britain, even China!

I think whatever protocol or setup on the backend is pretty solid to be able to do that.

I think I explained it above, but basically there's a approval process that it needs to go through to make sure it passes certification. Sometimes that's a bit more difficult.
On Steam they're more relaxed about it. If you publish something that has errors, it's on you. The Xbox ecosystem has a higher bar set.

I was wondering about the Windows 10 version (which I use) and how it doesn't have the Mixer Interactivity in its settings. Is this meant to be this way or no?

its not so bad, we are just in a very unfortunate mix of cirumstances, systems and certifications. I think we might be the only one in the world that are running into this issue 😃 noones fault really, but annoying

This is just a guess but maybe Microsoft is a bit more skeptical on game previews then normal games because the fact that it’s not a finished game but you can still buy it anyways
