I dont know the right place to say this but, I have been having trouble launching the game preview for win 10. Every time I launch it, the game window closes and does nothing. I went to microsoft about the issue and they were a big help on this problem, any ideas?

I had read about someone who had a custom page file size set in Windows. Setting it back to automatically managed by the system fixed the problem. Game starts up and performs normally.

any ideas why my framerate drops like 3 fps and only way to fix is to the adjust my settings. Running a high end gaming laptop but games been unplayable for a long time because of this. Keep having to adjust my effects either up or down to fix it temp. Then it runs smooth for 10 mins or so and then repeats

On Gaming Laptops I often have experienced problems with correct separation of (mostly Low-End) CPU graphics and the (High-End) GPU graphics. Really sure you start the game with the right one? Try to choose manually the right GPU or force in system settings the use of the right one.

the game runs solid af butter smooth on epic, but regardless of settings something happens to trigger this and sticks like this until the settings are changed. Even adjusting the settings upwards to epic fixes it.

Port 53 is DNS, don't open that to the world
Port 500 is ISAKMP/IKE, don't open that to the wold
Port 80 is HTTP, don't open that to the world
Port 3544 is for Torendo tunneling (ipv6 stuff), don't open that to the world
Port 4500 is IPSec NAT Traversal, don't open that to the world
Port 88 is Kerberos (Windows AD/Authentication system), don't open that to the world

Port 3074 is Xbox LIVE and "should" be ok

If you wan't to increase your chance of being hacked or whatever, go ahead, you might be ok. However, most of these ports have nothing to do with gaming and do nothing but compromise your system. I'm a network engineer, I know these things.

Hi. I'm playing Co-op with a friend, on PC, on the windows store version. We are trying to either join a public game OR host one, with an aim of playing with a 4 player squad. We have been unable to do this. When we select to "host a public game" it always results in the guest being disconnected after about a minute of sitting in the launch module in the hub, with the countdown timer frozen and the host either standing still or running in one direction continuously, often into a wall. Also, while searching for a solution to this, I keep reading about "Server lists" where players can select a room to join. Where is this? I see no options to view a list of servers, is that in the Steam version only? In short, how do I and my friend play with randomers??? ANY HELP IS VERY VERY APPRECIATED.

There is currently no server list in the Xbox/Win10Store version. But in the new version, Update 18, we will have a first iteration of a server list. Update 18 is due to be released on Thursday 11th October (if it goes through Certification). This should help you find and connect to servers in a more transparent way.

But the actual problem of disconnections is more tricky.

The network connection system on Xbox/Win10Store is using a different system than that on Steam. Networking in DRG is based on peer-to-peer connections and almost all of this is black-box for us (the developers). On Steam it's using a service provided by Valve and on Xbox/Win10Store we are using a service provided by Microsoft. Both of these services are continuously improved, but they are not something we (the devs) can directly debug or fix.

Bummer about the issues that xbone’s having. My friends and I all just purchased the game tonight. We disconnected on and off the entire night but when it was working we were having a blast! Can’t wait for the fixes to hit xbone. We’re itching to get back in the mines!

Is anyone playing on windows having issues with the framerate randomly dropping to around 8 during missions? This happens to me at least once per mission, sometimes multiple times. I have to hit CTRL ALT DEL and open task manager to fix it. No need to kill any tasks, simple launching it fixes the problem.

I went to the microsoft store today because after installing drg the other night, i kept having an error message “installation stopped” every time id try to update or install a game. I thought it was just a coincidence but they wiped my xbox and i was having no probs reinstalling all my games until... i installed drg again and the error message is now back😕

Good news: We put out update 18.5 on xbox/win10 and it fixes a lot of crashes and memory issues
Bad news: A bug slipped past us, so you will crash if you try to late join a mission already in progress :(

We are working on fixing it and will put out a fix as early as possible (likely thursday around 10 UTC, but we cant say for 100% sure)

Greetings miners! I an currently having trouble launching the Xbox/Windows version on my PC. I already own the game for my Xbox one. After the game finishes installing and is launched, the DRG logo appears then fades to a black screen about the time it should be loading the coffee stain logo. After a few seconds the game will close. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting but nothing seams to work. Every once in a while when I try again I will get the following error message: Serialization Error

Hello. I seem to have an issue with my game.

@pale rivet I am a little at a loss of what the issue is. We do have a hang on startup that can happen, but its not really possible for me to know if thats your issue. Alternatively, try installing the redis package a linked a little big further up and see if that helps.

Hey everyone! I've been trying to connect to a friends lobby all afternoon with no luck. Everytime we attempt to join, it's just an infinite "joining..." screen. Note that we are on the same network. Are there any ports we can forward on our router? We've also gone ahead and ensured the game is being run as admin, and this did work for maybe 5 mins. But now it's back to doing the same thing. I've also tested joining while on another network. (Mobile phone hot-spot) and i'm able to join others but not my friend. Any tips on what we can do?

Update: Also went ahead and disabled the firewall on our network. Still no dice. Will continue to test.

Ok, so i'm back at it again. Looks like we've narrowed down the issue to my PC. My friend is able to connect and join games with no problem. (We're on the same network & have also updated to both be on the same Win 10 version) However, whenever I attempt to join a game, it either goes to an infinite "Joining..." screen, or it just says it's joining then closes the window. I'm literally out of ideas how. Does anyone from <@&257786783666929665> or <@&296918282403840000> know anything about this? I really love the game, and am wanting to play more, but I just cant.

In regards though to similar issues others have had, I did a bunch of reading on the Steam forums and wasn't able to find anything worthwhile. The most odd thing to me, is that we're on the same network. Even with one PC on at a time, only his PC can connect, mine cannot. Same Win 10 versions, same DNS settings, same router, everything. Maybe a possible conflict with the networking drivers? But, that seems like a long-shot as well.

So I have tested out the Mouse and Keyboard update on xbox finally and I have to say its not unplayable but it is very laggy. Itll slow down when I start to move the mouse to fast and will speed up when I ethir stop moving my mouse or pick it up off the table. Not sure why this happens and I tested the mouse on my pc to make sure it was fine.

As of update 19 the Xbox One version has suffered serious performance drops and game crashes on loading into missions. I’m currently getting a max of around 45fps. I play on Xbox One X.

I completly understand that major fixes come in time, and im fine with that. I just checked the hotfix for xbox and the mouse still starts to lag and delay input by a lot once I start moving it normal/fast. Only really keeps up if I am moving it slow. Its a new feature and I just want to help make it better any way I can. But all I can say as for now its kinda unplayable out side of the hub. That being said it helps with menus and on the termanials, But the issue still comes up if I move it to fast itll delay untill it stops getting inputs and then goes threw really quick. Its like its getting overworked and slows down untill no more info is coming in and then instantly does whats in queue

I have only tested with 1 mouse so far. A razer death adder. It works fine on my PC, and its like a lag of input. Itll move normal as fast as me, and then itll hit a cap, and slow down untill I stop moving my mouse and then itll go threw. I dont have another mouse atm.

Hi guys - I'm slightly confused here. I'm trying to play with my friends, they are on XBox whilst I am on Windows 10.
Edit: to clarify - no I am not using the STEAM version, I am aware that it cannot work with Cross Platform play between Xbox and PC.

My version is 0.19.21465.2
Their version is 0.19.21585.0

But I cannot see any updates in the Microsoft Store.
Was there an update for Xbox that is yet to roll out to the MS Store for me?
I believe this would be the most likely cause of my issue :- "Multiplayer Session Ended" every time we try and join each other's games.

So I bought DRG for win 10. I can open the game just fine and run around in the first room you spawn in. But when I try to do the tutorial or start the game it just gos black. Not that i know of, besides that post. We are moving to a newer version of the engine with the next update, but i dont know if that will fix it. And since it doesnt crash i cant really look into a log file. Is it a new thing or have you had it for a while?

My friend bought the game yesterday for Win10. His computer meets the recommended requirements. However when he launched the game he got black screened several times. I bought DRG from MS store (not Steam) so my wife and I can play cross platform (PC/Xbox1). I had it on Steam and it ran great. The PC MS version crashes 3 minutes into the game 100% of the time. I have a great gaming rig. I see no forum dedicated to the PC/MS version. Can someone please help?

OK, so the MS Play Anywhere version (not Steam) does not play well with each other. The MS version of DRG crashed every minute into the game. It WLL NOT connect with the Xbox One version of the game. MS will not refund the game. The Xbox One version plays well with Xbox one players (no voice chat) and the Steam version of DRG plays with other Steam versions. The MS version of DRG is a pile of s h i t.

In therory yes if you have the MS Play Anywhere version. The Steam version is not cross play.

I bought it. The MS version is the same as the Steam version except MS adds a "wrapper" to it to allow it to play with Xbox One. The Steam version does not have this wrapper so it cannot play with Xbox One. The MS version cannot play with Steam. I was able to cross play the MS version with the Xbox One version but it would crash every game within 1 minute. There was some type conflict with the gamepad and the Windows version. I was told they were working on a fix.

I cannot join them, the "join" option doesn't show up on the Xbox app. They go to join me, and the option to join is greyed out on the Xbox friend's list

Reporting connection issues here. Have windows store version. Cannot join or invite other xbox players. Cannot quick join or join from server browser. @regal breach seems to be the cross platform issues you mentioned. I've tried removing firewall and router from network architecture as well as re-installing game. Xbox version works fine with other xbox users.

Crossplay seems to be working great with one issue. I get disconnected if I alt-tab out of the game. I don't remember that happening before, but I could be wrong.

Servers between xbox and pc is very laggy for me my xbox friend lags if he connects to me and i lag if i connect to him im also on pc seeing flashes

Bjorn, would you by chance have any info on including Windowed Fullscreen for the Windows 10 / Microsoft Store version?
Unless I have some wonky version of the game, it doesn't seem to be included, which seems strange as the Steam version does.
It would make many-a-dwarf happy to not be booted from games just because we play on Fullscreen and end up backgrounding DRG by accident or on purpose.

We dont have windows fullscreen for the MS tore build, but as i remember, there are some issues with getting booted from the game, and the game having a couple of seconds of freezing when alt tabbing, are there more issues?

I know it used to (maybe it still does) kick everyone from your session if you are the host and alt tab. I stopped doing so out of habit, to prevent said issues.

Other than that, I can't really think of anything off the top of my head.

Somewhat hard to tell when you have those two extremes as you can't get feedback from people who got kicked, if there was an issue with generic gameplay.

we will fix all bugs 😃 the issue is just making new stuff, and fixing issues with 6 programmers and 1½ QA is pretty intense stuff , and the nature of game development is a ton of trial and error, which also takes time:)

i think the main issue is that we have 1-2 people working on xbox, and it is a side project to actually getting updates out for xbox and working on implementing technical requirements. So all the work falls on the same people, which makes it take longer

Bjorn, just to throw it out there, the in-game text chat system does not allow you to delete any characters on this version.
So, if you are weird and want to correct spelling errors before you put it in chat, you can't.
I managed to once, which was when I first loaded in but it removed one character and that was it. No attempts afterwards worked.

Really early in the morning it is pretty low count (all open servers on screen at once) but usually there is about 15-20 lobbies open even on work days.

You often end up pairing with the same people if you host (maybe they just join me specifically).

Quick Join will usually find a match quickly, yeah.

Since they fixed the co-op issues, you can actually join people.

@wraith compass are you using the same gfx settings? there is no actual "optimization " difference since its the same game, the only difference is the MS "wrapper" around the game and also the MS store version is using dx12. If you wanted, you could try running the steam version in DX12 which should give you the same performance.. although at wouldnt solve anything, just prove that it actually gets worse. We do however still plan on looking more at DX12 support, but atm we are jsut gathering info

so, here's an example of their DRM being shitty in a subtle, unintended way that's affected me: my friend and I activated steam sharing on each other's accounts so we could try games we each didn't own. however, I had my alt account linked to my main account too (long story, tl;dr ran a csgo 'maxbet' knife trading bot back in the days of csgolounge and it needed its own account to run, and my main account had a high enough steam level to boost its inventory and some other functionality that was helpful)

but, there was a bug where if I tried to play a game that was shared from my main account to my alt, that was also owned in his library

it wouldn't let me play my own games if he was in one of his games

hello, just got DRG to hang. It hogs 25% cpu, 2.5 gb memory, plays sound, does not react on key presses. During mission, in pause menu, with cursor stuck on "Exit to desktop". Anything I can or should do, besides just closing?

I struggled for a very long time with the game not opening properly from the Windows 10/Microsoft Store version.

I restarted my game about 60 times in a few days, with a lot of crashes.

#

I even got in contact with Microsoft about it and all they offered was a refund.

#

I had to reinstall the game about 10 times before it started working.

#

I think it was something to do with me switching from Fullscreen to Windowed.

#

As I had no issues initially until I had changed that setting.

#

My game crashed and then every time I started up the game it was just a black screen and would never properly boot up.
No logo, no visuals, just some audio sometimes. Key and mouse input didn't work either.
Normal statistics in Task Manager too, with no hitches.

#

It might also have to do with how the Microsoft Store updates the game. I had to manually update the game by literally deleting it and reinstalling it. I'm not sure if this is fixed yet either, but I do know that there was either a distinct lack of "Update" button in the library or when I did "Update" it, it was the incorrect version. The Microsoft Store bugged out and downloaded a bunch of bloatware games too, instead of the very obvious Deep Rock Galactic that I chose from my library. They installed these without my permission and I never even saw them in my library or in my UI. Their store, overall, is horrendous.

@rain spruce ryzen 7 16 GB RAM, Radeon Rx 550 4GB VRAM. I’ve tried using the troubleshoot app but nothing popped out and that’s it I dont know what I can do. There a lot of people that reported it not working on the Microsoft store reviews of u go on the PC section
