I'm one of those people that plays co-op games because they enjoy cooperation itself. I derive lots of fun from teaming up with friends, or randoms, and doing objectives/taking down enemies together. I believe that is the correct way co-ops are meant to be played.

My motivation to play HD2 remains high because:

• I am fairly social on these games and know how to keep them fun
• I love the Galactic War storytelling aspect, you can tell the devs treat the game like a roleplaying campaign
• I just really like the aesthetics for the game, the low sci-fi setting that feels realistic is great to me.

I know not everyone agrees with these points, but I do and those are what makes Helldivers so enjoyable for me.

I also really like challenges (I have h5a enjoyer in my nickname here lmao) so the more punishing updates on HD2 haven't been an issue for me.

I like the coop aspect too, I clocked in 1.3k hours on drg, 900 on payday 2, and 600 on darktide (~150 give or take on smaller coop games like far far west, mvm and VT2), and while I haven't done haz5a, I do also push the limits of the difficulty in these games too (All maps DSOD, havoc 20 in DT)

But I barely have 270 hours on HD2. Maybe because Im not too social in that game but it feels wrong. It gets stale so quickly and it's just like "what am I fighting for here?"

I've done d10 as well but atp it doesn't really feel fun to just run away from every fight so I stick to d6 and 7

All in all it was the one that cost the most out of any of these games but feels the worst to play

Maybe it's just not the right game for your personal taste, and that's fine. I am on it for the general feeling of the gameplay loop and the storytelling aspect.

I absolutely love that the Helldiver characters feel squishy, like real humans; because that makes you feel 100x more incredible when you do manage to pull off insane feats ingame. That's what makes all the HD2 gameplay clips so amazing, because you know the player you're controlling usually dies to 1 headshot or being squished by 1 charger or whatever. No one is impressed at the Scout using his grapple hook, for instance. It doesn't hit the same on characters that are overpowered by definition.

HD2 does have a metagame where you're not gonna run away from all fights but you're gonna have to pick your engagements carefully, yeah. It's not like DRG where every enemy is thrown at your face and you have to manage the constant mob pressure. DRG doesn't allow you to do stealth.

I'm a big proponent that if people can't handle a certain difficulty then they can pick a lower one. We have a ten diff system for that and there should be no shame in playing lower difficulties.

Unfortunately the off-game community is one of the worst I've met.

On social media, that is.

It's GMT+3, but tbh I don't think I'd do all to well in d10

my strategy for that was "bring as many nukes as possible" (hellbomb backpack, solo silo, leveller, 500kg)

if I'm dead, I might as well wipe out the entire horde and objective too (I stayed away from teammates for this obv)

Generally on HD2 builds have to be made with the mentality that each enemy in the faction has at least 1 specific answer in your loadout.
As an example, my current bugs loadout:
Knight and Bullet Storm for chaff enemies and mediums
Missile Pistol for chargers and closing bug holes
EATs for spore titans
Laser dog, gas mines and gas grenades as multipurpose CC, gas mines in particular are saved up for bug breaches

Each item is more specific on its use, as opposed to here in DRG where most weapons can efficiently kill or damage all enemies, it's jsut a matter of how you use them and in what combos.

I dunno helldivers 2, i plan buying it when it gets high discount, i could just copy paste my cruelty squad loadout: Automatic shotgun to shred everything small and weak upclose, and an rocket launcher of sorts that gets rid of anything big and strong from safe distance xD

I had an idea for an extraction shooter mod for Minecraft at some point.

Basic premise being:

Playerkind found a way to get into the Void without dying, discovered incredible treasures, woke up the horrors and now the Overworld is fucked.

Now people go down from sky islands to the surface to scavenge for supplies while hopefully not being eaten by the horrors.

Longer story being: Playerkind found a way to enter the End Void without dying and discovered a whole new world down there, with its own ecosystem and civilisation.

Out of curiosity, they broke through the bedrock in the Nether, repeated the process and found something similar.

They did the same for the Overworld's bedrock, discovering things that had been long forgotten or supposedly removed from existence. Rubies, Gears, Old Villagers and other such things.

What they also found... were things that had become mutated. The many mobs of dead worlds (Minecraft Earth and Story Mode) had become corrupted by the void and overran the surface.

It was only through cooperation between Villager and Illagerkind that the Sky Islands, the last bastion of sentient life in the Overworld, even exist.

Theres base damage which devalues itself the more you have and theres damage multipliers some of which stack multiplicatively and some just get eaten by others and stop existing, and theres flat damage which isnt affected by the scaling of normal base damage and flat damage ups and damage multipliers are applied in weird unpredictable orders
