I actually had an idea for an Ancestral guardian barbarian lizardfolk based on 2000AD's Rogue Trooper. As in he's the last survivor of a group of Lizardfolk warriors that joined a campaigning army as mercenaries and his ancestral spirits are not actually his ancestors, they're his fallen battle brothers who he ate after they died (they didn't all die at once obviously)

I was trying toi come up with a pacifist barbarian that made sense

so, in character he ends up rejecting it. and my Kobold, being a kobold presented with a newly hatched dragon latched onto it and was determined to protect it at all costs! 😄

but the coolest one is that the player can sort of change the narrative

they can work with the GM to change the narrative a bit
