Also darktide has a bit of a mixed history, but I can attest that current darktide is fairly fun for what it is.
Upsides:
-gunplay is good fun, both guns and melee generally feel impactful (bolters especially)
-voice acting is stellar from all involved, lots of banter between characters
-Classes overall have strong identities and have several options to build through the talent tree and weapons

Downsides:
-A significant amount (read: all the cool ones you'd actually want) of cosmetics are locked behind a premium store, with rotating semi-FOMO offerings
-your weapon upgrades have a significant element of RNG attached to them to get the "ideal" weapon, which is annoying
-as with almost every squad based horde shooter, missions don't change much between runs.
-a lot of mechanics are opaque and hidden from the player and require you to manually seek out the wiki and learn what the hell finesse, brittleness, impact, etc do

LC fallout shelter type of gameplay unfortunately wasnt really for me

And limbus is just limbus

The power scaling for enemies is relatively similar if a bit tougher than VT’s enemies, maybe? But not only do you have less enemies that have armor impenetrable to common weapons,

The power scaling for players is significantly higher. Since ranged attacks are more accessible, abundant, and a hecaton more perks - let alone the freedom of upgrade choice (less RNG grinding)

Plus the existence of veteran with krak grenades and a recon lasgun (or spearhead boltgun)
You could stack four such veterans and have 0 issue whatsoever doing any content

Daemonhost, the enemy you're supposed to avoid (L4D2 Witch style)?
Nah fam time for it to learn that it has less HP than the actual monstrosities

We also have, like, 1 million other enemies that can kill you

(Specialist enemies in L4D, VT, and DT just incap you. They do chip damage against you, but MUCH less than common enemies.
(While VT and DT has Elites, which are common enemies+ - DRG’s Specialists are the Elites. Much heavier in spawn weight, too

I don’t tend to jab a lot with melee weapons - and its Heavy Attack’s wide sweeps are someth I like about it - combined with Stealth Zealot’s wide and quick dashes.

The heavy sweeps have like

Zero damage distro

They're useless against mixed hordes

And you can't take Shock and Awe or smth because you're enforced to take thrust +headtaker/slaughterer by the weapons nature

Makes up with huge Impact to stagger hordes

Plus if I wanted them dead faster I whip out my Autogun.

I also tend to use Thrust with it so its damage may also be boosted by that.

It isn't staggering much cause its baseline cleave kinda sucks

But I think the ability to one tap any Carapace enemies makes up for it

For some reason a Columnus Braced Autogun is better for me than anything else

Bolter is too inaccurate/has too much recoil for me to hit things at certain distances,
Flamer also whips out too slow,
Haven’t tried Shredder with it, but I think the Columnus pierces enemies I think
