I personally think HD2's grind is a bit better because unlike DRG overclocks (which give or take are ~300 hours grind I think?) HD2 doesn't restrict meta to warbond weapons. You get everything you need to be an effective player via stratagems and the free starter warbond.

I disagree with their balancing methodology on basically every level.

You cannot balance a game using a spreadsheet as its ignores a lot of the nuance behind pick rates.

Its not a simple calculation of Y weapon is taken X percent of the time against Y factions.

An example i'll use is the liberator penetrator. A medium penetration weapon with high capacity and rate of fire will always feel better for a player to use than a light pen weapon with similar stats are a single shot rifle like the constitution.

Rather than figure out why other weapons are ineffective or less favoured arrowhead would choose to instead nerf the penetrator to be more in line with its cousins.

Another example the coyote. Despite begging from the community to not nerf it. Buff the other weapons instead. And a video assuring us they did not nerf it. They instead buff enemies specifically the counteract it.

Even the durable damage buffs given to other weapons was paired with a durability buff to enemies further pushing the unadjusted weapons down in effectiveness while nullifying said buffs

Nobody is talking about technical debt for hours at end because even people with a good system can recognize the game is painfully running properly. Almost everyone agree on it, so it's talked about shortly and brushed on the side. Which in turn might give the impression that balance is the biggest part of the problem (it's not).

I speak from my experience, I didn't really care about weapon balance and all this meta stuff, but I dropped the game almost instantly when all the performance issues emerged, simply because with balance problems you can always deal and if they are not massive, still have fun in game, but constantly crashing and having like 10 fps max strips the game of its fun, at least because you can never finish missions due to crashes

HD2 fanbase isn't helping because you will either encounter a reasonable person who understands why there's delay in content and stuff, and a crybaby who thinks that just because the game runs well for them then that means it does for everyone, and they just want more content and balance changes

Not saying there's anything wrong with wanting new content and balance changes, but if game runs like shit, these things should be the least of your worries

I’ve been playing a game called “Zombie Chef” lately where you basically run a food stall to feed zombies after the apocalypse started. One of the sandwiches is called a “mind sandwich” which requires bread, a brain and 3 meatballs.
