here's my issue with ow design in general
no one should be able to one shot (unless they have great personal risk to themselves doing it)
take rein charge- it may one shot, but it's lowkey ass because it puts rein in such a bad position half the time that the pin doesn't make up for losing a whole tank
on the other hand, widow, hanzo, hog and more have no/little risk attached to whiffing their one-taps
sniper and spy are pretty bad in tf2, but in casual, they don't matter unless they shut down the entire lobby
tf2 is less objective and more 12v12 murder-y fun chaos, while overwatch is just objective based play with very limited team sizes
if you lose just one person in ow, you can very easily snow ball into losing the whole fight and perhaps the game
so burst damage and low ttks in ow2 feel really bad to die to
like soldier, especially with a mercy damage boost, does an absurd amount of damage
which means supports need to do more heals to save their teammates
which means other dps need to be equally or more hard hitting to make up for the heals
which means tanks need to be harder to kill to keep their impact
which means they need more counters to tank survivability tools so that they can still die
which means supports need more buffs
which means dps kill faster
which means tanks take more
it's a never ending cycle of creep and despair
this also means that every person becomes more important because losing just one means losing on HUGE damage, heals and mitigation
so the lower ttks get even more egregious !!!!

Why should they keep the demo around forever if it's an outdated build that isn't representative of the game in it's early access or launched state? What's wrong with giving a preview for a specific time window?
Basically it's just shareware... you get to try the game for free, and see if it appeals to you. It's not up to the devs to manage your playtime, it's up to you to show up and get involved in the demo when it's on.
They're very upfront about their timelines in their updates normally.

I hear you. I didn't get to try many demos this time around for RL reasons but also because i'm on linux now, so it's really hit or miss with demos and UE5 is.. not always guaranteed to work well. If any feedback i'd provide to steam, would be have the NextFests last 2 weeks or a month, in the "deadzones" of the cycles between major sales events. drums up sales, increases wishlists.

but shotguns? the only "solid" stuffs are pellets and close range power
and as you said, even that varies
shotguns can be genuine death sticks that just MURDER anyone within 10 ft of you,
but then completely falls off the second you're outside of it

I like the way Bolt Acr is designed in cruelty squad. At outside look you would assume its another overpowered weapon exists just for the powercreep but not quite. An gun with infinite ammo and creating everlasting radiation zones that damage people through walls lets you speedrun levels from safe distance but gun itself is weak on normal fair combat because if you attempt to get to point blank range to an enemy shooting you, you will be dead. So gun entirely limited to attack people through walls only. And its super short range limits its use.

Sometimes some animals are genetically very thin or chubby. At least thats what i seen in cats and dogs. When genetically you born small and didnt drink their mothers milk enough, they become permanently super thin no matter how much they ate. And ones drink too much milk permanently becomes wide and chubby even with an diet

I asked to myself "why does skullgun has extreme vertical recoil when its just an pistol?" Then npoticed that since its literally in our face, the shooting gun recoil our head upwards therefore legit organic vertical recoil to shoot bullets from your face. Uncessesarly immersive in cruelty squad
I dunno why i am obessed with cruelty squad. It makes no sense. Its not an world i wanna live in. Art style isnt my thing, i am not an speedrunner. I dont enjoy being trolled by design. But its just fun and i keep playing it depsite i finished it 100% literally
Liking cruelty squad was not in my bingo card. Similar to how i am suprised to like skyrim later on
If game was sane and more functional. It would be less fun. If not half of guns break the game. They would be all same gun doing same things. If headshots werent did instant kill and body hits require alot of hits, difference between pistols and smgs would be no different
Literally bodyhits do nothing but headshots oneshot. So you can get some insane overkill automatic shotguns, insane nail guns or smgs and delete people from bodyshots before they shoot you one bullet to head
I also like how the speedrunning traverse items dont overlap or overlap is silly non functional way. Games makes you consider its balanced to have preference between "turn gravity upside down" with "endless range grapple gun to get anywhere" or "infinite slow fall" with "you can walk over walls as if its floor" are equally powerful
Meanwhile me using blastshield armor which i can rocket jump instead. Less mobile, but i can shoot rockets in pointblank range for spite of armored enemies chasing me in melee
Every hard to finish struggle level becomes speedrun after you learn routes, and i watch videos and everyone found different path in each level that i didnt knew existed
