Pyro has the flamethrowers, Phlog and the Dragon's Fury.

All the grenade launchers are functionally very similar except for the Loose Cannon.

you can use whatever so long as it's someplace the package manager won't mess with (/usr except for /usr/local is off limits for installing stuff by hand for example)

as was said by others, /mnt is a good place, for example WSL puts windows drive letters in /mnt/c, /mnt/d etc.

i usually make per-user directories in external drives though, like in /home

and for convenience a symlink from my actual home to my directory on the drive

the automount point isn't a directory that you can nav into, but it's there... when you click on the /Games folder, it's a partition that's linked into the /run/media branch of the root
