Suggestion: Molly we need to talk about this... We have a salvage operation where the mules are clearly damaged (TBH Broken) but in all other mission your Mule just happens to be invulnerable?

Let's make returning to the drop pod a bit more interesting, Mules have health, if the Mule drops below a certain threshold it slows down further still they become immobile and require repair / emergency reboot (rewires power or something) which takes time, though can be reduced by repairing with materials in order of nitra > Gold > Rare Minerals. (or just Nitra I'm sure you guys can figure out the balance).

Further Molly suggestions: I have yet to hear anyone say that this next suggestion isn't amazing, equip the Mule with 1-2 seats that work. We already ride molly, some of the OG's are extremely familiar with using molly to scale walls already. to summarise: WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND SEATS... pretty please.

Move molly with the pointer, nothing to explain here Bosco can move with it why cant Molly or any other potential mule do it?

Molly to slow down when over encumbered, IE people riding molly or when a lot of resources are deposited, do you want to greed or get what you came for?

Molly to have several states of being and no I don't mean transcendence, follow, stay, move, will suffice, all though a 4th me next MULE function would be nice it will stop tugs of war with the Mule... you all know what i'm talking about.

Last suggestion PLAYERS SPAWN MECHANICS: When players spawn in they just appear, this is both annoying and uncool especially when in confined spaces. Talking of confined spaces why cant they come in the same way a nitra drop does?

Pros:

  • Gives them to time to load in
  • Looks bad ass and they might kill a few creeps with their grandioso entrance
  • They may "happen" to land on someone who needs a revive
    Cons:
  • Someone may be disappointed to find a dwarf where their nitra drop should be

Theres should be a situation or chance that when too many loot bugs are killed that a loot lord or an elite version of the loot bug spawns on the map in order to enact revenge. Not too thorough on the idea but its something thatd be cool and serve as a punishment for killing too many

Mission type were instead of a set goal of morkite the tunnel gets harder and tougher enemies spawn as you get deeper, so say by the time you get 1000 marokite and a huge reward and more crafting mineral spawns 5-10 dreadnaughts are spawning each wave to stop you from getting out

been playing since March of last year, great game along with Sanctum 1 & 2 . Another props to merging salvage and that other mission type, really has made a totally different (and more difficult) way to play for some of us old timers.

On to the suggestion mainly for us old time players but also for bands of 4 - Implement a competitive mode for speed runs for 4 players only. Initially choose one good map from each biome (ghostship's deeming of what is a good map) for the speed runs and institute a leaderboard for each biome map. Eventually this could even be implemented to the procedurally generated maps but you would mirror them one for each team of four (yes hosting client bandwith issues are possibly an issue here)

Suggestion for Driller Drill Arms alternative:
[Hydraulic Fists]
A pair of hydro-powered titanium-reinforced fists, capable of punching through just about anything - be it stone, or enemy.

Stats (All of these could be upgraded):
Damage per hit: 14
Fuel: 140
Fuel per hit: 2
Click and Hold effect: Use fuel to charge up a powerful hit.
Click and Hold fuel consumption: 2 per sec, up to 10
Click and Hold damage: +18 per second held
(Can also punch rock to mine it)

Possible Tier 5 upgrades:
"Fists of Titanium" - Killing an enemy with a fully charged punch will stun nearby enemies for 3 seconds, preventing them from doing anything.
"Hydraulic Helper" - When entering your crouched stance (see below), launch Dwarf allies up to 50 meters high instead of 25m.
"Two-Punch Man" - Give 'em the 'ol One-Two! Every second consecutive hit on an enemy deals +10 damage.

Possible feature, just a side thought; Hitting a certain button (Thinking Mouse 3 on the PC) will let the Driller enter or exit a crouched stance with the Hydraulic Arms. When in this state, he puts his hands out, and any Dwarf that steps on them will get flung upwards about 25 meters. Useful for getting allies up to a high place they normally couldn't go.

I'm guessing we're AT LEAST going to get a Santa hat or something silly that we can get basically for free.

But - Consider, adding 1 new armor set for each Dwarf. A big task, I know. But they could each have an arctic exploration set each in their respective colors. Big fluffy coats with fur collars, little ice picks and chisels dangling off their belts. spikes on their boots. Ya know. Something more serious.

Hello all, this is less of a game suggestion and more of a possible game merch suggestion, my friend and I have been playing for a bit now, and we have come to the agreement that if the ale mugs were to ever become an item to buy, we would buy them just if anything to be collected, they could function too (but cost a bit more)
I was thinking maybe the pack of all 6 mugs for like 35$ or something like that

imagine if there was a healing class, id like that, carries bandages that heals 50% of team mates health, and can be resupplied, maybe like a syringe too that gives team mates a 'sugar rush', which increases there health by 25%, movement speed by 25%, and carrying capacity of all minerals by 10, for 240 seconds, or maybe able to drop a mini resupply pack that gradually gives health and ammo over time to team mates within the radius. the weapon would be something like the m1000 in a way, less damage but bigger mag, ammo and firing rate, secondary could be shock pads that instantly revives team mates and has a 30 second cooldown, or, could also be a crossbow that shoots healing arrows, just some ideas that i came across

If more biome-specific enemies are added, there should be some that interact with the unique features in their environments.

In the radioactive zone, you could have creatures that pick up the radioactive crystals and move towards you until you're in range. in any biome with vents/geysers you could have an enemy that latches onto them and shoots the contents of the vent/geyser at nearby dwarves, similar things could happen with the electrified crystals or fungi.

At first this might sound very lame, but bare with me, for it become slightly less lame, maybe even slightly cool. Deep Rock Galactic has been in contact with another organization called the "Danger Dandelions", an elite group of gnomes that focus on new and rare plants and other leaf loving stuff like that. A new mission is available at the terminal where you have to go into the Dense Bio Zone and collect a baby Silica Harvester and get it to the drop pod safe. In return for lending them this new farming organism, they lend you one of their best operators. Boom, new Gnome class. Now again, it might sound very lame, but let me go into detail. The new Gnome class is half the size of the dwarves, has big rosy cheeks, shorter arms and a bigger belly sticking out. The gnomes primary weapon is a spade launcher, meaning it can slightly dig with the launched but also deal insane pressurized damage. The secondary, though, is where it's at. He gets an exotic flower that deals miniscule damage, but has special pollen that hypnotizes the glyphids (maybe turning them a slight purple color, or having particles coming off of them to show to your teammates that they shouldn't kill it yet). This would confuse them, and lead them to attack their own kind.

Obviously it wouldn't have a 100% chance to hypnotize, and it wouldn't last forever, but could be very effective to hypnotize a bomber to run into a group of warriors, or to go find a nest of swarmers and hypnotize them to fight along side you verses a dreadnaught. What's his mobility item you may ask? Well his PWB (Portable Wheel-Barrow) of course. Pull this thing out and ride around at twice the speed. Not only that, but it can carry an extra passenger in the back that can shoot while they ride. Maybe you could even put extra minerals in it, but it's mainly made for gnome transportation. His secondary equipment is an explosive mine that he can place that has two charges, meaning one mine can explode more than once. He could only get one or two to start, but after upgrades could receive more. Put one of these sucker on your flank and forgettaboutiiiiit. His grenade would also put out a cloud of the pollen that the flower has, giving a 20% chance that whoever gets hit by it gets hypnotized (depending on what type of glyphid it is). This is a very team oriented character, and would make great support. I know it's a little silly, but I also think it adds a bunch of cool new features that go well with the game. AT-MW (All-terrain Mining Walker) Ironclad class
The Ironclad class is a giant 8-legged walker converted (from its militarized version) for both mining and fighting mission. It is equipped with powerful titanium driller arms for getting thru any kind of material, mechanical arms with both mining and grab stuff for mining. But still have his kicking ass 120mm cannons and 4 twins 14.5mm repeating cannons (one at each side, 1 at the rear, 1 at the belly). This huge 4 operated walker need 4 players for being (fully) functional. The right class at the right place gives you the following bonuses:

  • Gunner (turret position): reduces heating by 15% from repeating cannons; main cannon reloads decreased by 20%
  • Driller (mining machine): heat rate decreased by 20%, meaning that he can be active longer before overheating; arms move 10% faster
  • Engineer (Operator position): repair damaged part 10% faster, can boost correctly some part of the vehicle
  • Scout (Driver): expert driver: turn rate increased by 40% and can use the claw on the leg*
    MASTERISE SYSTEMS: The more you learn to use correctly the ship, more efficiently use your place in the walker, all bonuses seeing previously are multiplied by 0%, until reaching 100% at getting all stats seeing previously. Wrong class in the wrong place reduce efficiency and mastering by 50% and get the following malus:
  • Turret position: Can switch to the wrong turret. Main cannon reloads increased by 10%
  • Mining Machine: heat rate increased by 15%, arms can sometimes move in the wrong way
  • Operator position: repair rate reduced by 10%, boost incorrectly ship parts, increasing heating or reducing reload speed.
  • Driver: accelerate or break are badly, can’t use magnetic clips
    Mission Control: BE AT YOUR RIGHT PLACE
    *: Claw on the legs permit the AT-MW to grip any kind of surface, it could move on top on the cave or wall like the M.U.L.E

Radiation system for Radioactive biome. In addition to current Irradiated Crystals - add very slow "natural" radiation accumulation while shields are off. Accumulated radiation will negatively affect player. Can be cured by Resupply packs (high rate) or Red Sugar (low rate).This will make Irradiated Crystals more noticable threat and adds immersion to the biome itself (also - glowing irradiated bugs as special enemies).

  • Laser pointer displays your health on the bottom.
  • Make the minehead / droppod logo only appear when laser pointer is pulled out.
  • Option to make laser pointer highlight allies even on hudless.
    The point of these suggestion is to allow for hudless to be viable while still being hudless by using ingame tools. The laser pointer has a great display that could be used to display health in an immersion friendly way.

Engineer turret alternate for when armor/tools eventually get more options: Tesla coils. Instead of placing turrets, the engie could place tesla coils that automatically deal electric damage and shock enemies within a 6m radius. Can be upgraded to a 9m radius.

Pickaxe suggestion: A blue-ish pick (Driller has a gold one, everyone else has a silver one) that any class could buy, that breaks all resources (gold, nitra, croppa, etc) in 1 hit, and on resources that already break in 1 hit, mines a larger area/amount. The drawback would be it would deal either break normal terrain slower, or deal significantly less damage to enemies.

couuld we get some more specific voice lines for the drop pod? like the dwarves have a few seconds while it's dropping and they talk to each other, but what dwarf is talking and to whom seems to be random. it'd be nice if there were lines for each specific dwarf and combination of dwarves, at least unique ones (i wouldn't expect gunner to be talking with gunner so it'd just count them both as 1 gunner) but yeah more lines, maybe to give a little more insight into each dwarf and some of their unique interplay with each other.

It would be nice to have a biome where enemies affected the environment . I'm suggesting it as a biome because just adding this sort of enemy everywhere could change the game considerably, (I think the game is excellent as is) but this sort of thing has a lot of potential for a one-biome shtick. For enemies, many would be the same, with the difference that acid spit and explosions damage the environment, and unique ones could be a bomber variant, burrowing carnivorous maggots, and a glyphid variant that remains dormant inside the rock until nearby terrain is damaged, at which point they break the remaining rock around them and leap out. (clusters of these could cause devastating chain reactions) I feel like the unstable crystals from the salt cave would fit quite well here, and I'm not sure on a name. (fragile caverns,/topographically unstable zone?)

Didn't find anything similar when I searched the recent posts.

SUGGESTION: Customisable drop pods! Pimp out the outside and interior of your drop pods with decor purchased with credits! (Sometimes minerals) Only the host's drop pod will be shown to clients ofc, you can show off what you've bought and it's something else to dump our credits on when we have bought everything else x) Similarly with the HUB too or maybe even funny resupply pod skins, but the hub is getting an overhaul next year anyway, so maybe we can expect some cool things!

Idk just something along these lines, cos we all end up at base for so long drinking beer and dancing, extra stuff would be cool if anyone can think of things 😃 (Can't wait for the shooting range :P)

Dwarves randomly materializing next to you after they join your game is immersion breaking! We need a personal "drop pod" of sorts for singular dwarves. Slightly larger than a supply drop, you'd get a marker indicating where they would land. Think of ODST drop pods from Halo, but with giant drills on the bottom!

Prevent trolling by limiting the number of pods a single person can spawn by joining to 2 - you would spawn in the last pod dropped if you were to, for whatever reason, leave and rejoin a lobby a 3rd time.

(This will never happen but a man can dream)

My only problem with this very amazing game is that the missions are too short. I'd really love to see a special option for marathon mining missions. Ideally 500+ morkite collection missions or even better; a certain degree of customization about the parameters of a mission. I love the game but feel it gets slowed down by people wanting to kick barrels around or dance at the jukebox when we could be squishing bugs and mining!!morkite droppod

@ The comment above, just to add on that because I love that idea - What if we could have missions with more than 1 main objective? Like mine 375 Morkite, then kill 2 Dreadnoughts. Or collect 7 Arquarqs, then find and repair some lost mules. Not sure how you'd combine some missions, but it could be amazing if you guys could pull it off.

Not exactly a suggestion, but an excellent place to get ideas for lifeforms on hoxxes would be biology on earth, especially small-scale biology. Interesting things to look at would be ant-lion pits,(possibly have them spit slippery goo) trap-door spiders and any predators that use bait to lure their prey.

Trash disposal in the Space Rig. Management got tired of cleaning up the cups of ale the dwarves leave on the floor, so they installed a trash disposal unit. Watch you don't put barrels in it, or it will break down and mission control will get annoyed at you. Just another fun suggestion for the space rig

The new shotgun changes are good, but it still feels really odd to use. I would actually rework the warthog to be a pump action shotgun, you can ramp up the damage on it a lot and it would be balanced because of the slower rate of fire due to having to pump after each shot. Make it feel like a real meaty boomstick. It would increase the weapons burst damage but reduce its dps over time but that is okay seing as DPS over time is more of a gunner triat anyway and the stubby SMG would then offer more of an alternative playstyle on engineer.

Small suggestion, but an upgrade for Driller's Grenades to make them stick to surfaces. Fits in theme with Sticky Flames, Sticky Ice and the C4 Sticking to walls.

I would like to suggest an upgrade to the terrain scanner to allow us to "paint" sections of terrain. Click on a hallway or room to make it change colour or something along those lines. This would really help with marking areas you've already visited and areas you've yet to visit. As someone who endeavours each dive to mine all minerals and retrieve all resources this would be a massive benefit. Right now I'm still mining in shorter and less complex tunnels so it's doable but I've seen some of the crazy systems that you can encounter later on and without a way to mark visited areas I'm unsure I'll even be able to cope with finding my way to every single room and tunnel in a cave.

Good evening everyone. Here is a idea for a new monster inspired from Dead Space 1 :

Summary
A special monster that would eject huge cloud of toxic gaz, slowly overtaking everything as the cloud is expanding. The monster would flee from the dwarfs if they are near Xmeters from him and would avoid contact at all cost.

How should we know of its existence before it's too late ?
When he spawn, Control would warn us of a bio-hazard threat detected in the area and give us the general direction in wich the epicenter of the chemical attack might be. Vocal messages would tell us if we are approaching our target and warn us if it escape. The monster itself could be weak, making him easy to kill and end the attack once found.

Another idea is using vocal warning like before but only when he spawn and when he is killed. To find him we would have to use our laser pointer tool and use the screen to track a dot : like the auspex used in Alien, the seventh passenger and in warhammer 40 000 to detect live form.

You are talking about a "cloud"
The cloud will not despawn unless the monster is killed. The cloud should do very light poison damage (even smaller than actual ones in order to make it viable but not too much so that players will be forced to deal with the threat as soon as possible before the cloud is too big) and will act like a slight smog, clouding our vision so that we can't see anything above 15 or 20 meters (less painfull that blizzard hazard of sand storms that blind you almost completly).

This combo (damage over time + vision disruption + cloud expanding) would make it a serious foe.

A mission type; go to specified locations and a pod will drop that makes seismic waves to draw waves of enemies; could be that you're doing it to cause a distraction so another team can mine safely.

I love this game. Here's an idea for a new mission type:

Sometimes (let's say 13% of the time) a Mining Expedition suffers a misdrop -- the Mining Expedition mission begins normally, but there is very little morkite (more like the amounts you would find if it was a secondary objective). After a minute Mission Control announces: "Change of plans, team. It seems there's been a mistake. We've sent you to the wrong place, and we've lost your signal. But help is on the way. We've dropped some beacons in your vicinity to help locate you. Activate their transmitters and await further instructions."

The primary objective of Collect Morkite changes to Activate 2/3/4 Beacons. The secondary objective stays the same (hollomite, boolo caps, apoca blooms, whatever) or becomes Collect Morkite (maybe 100 units) so that your Dark Morkite beer bonus doesn't go to waste.

2 to 4 beacons (depending on hazard level) appear far above the starting chamber. The team has to work its way upward through the cave system to reach the beacons and activate them. When all beacons are activated Mission Control says: "Making us look good up here, team. The beacons are lit and the drop pod will be there shortly."

Mission idea: Settlement Defense. Some geologists decided to try and place settlements in various regions to learn more about the (frustratingly complicated) geology of Hoxxes. However, their investigations end up obviously attracting lots of bugs, and you're tasked with going down to defend them for a while.

Sort of like Point Extraction, you'll relatively stay in one place the whole time. There will be actual buildings and machines set up in some large cave (Imagine something like the bases from Subnautica), and you have to defend them from attacks.

Now, I can't decide if the buildings would actually be allowed to take damage or not. I think that would make it too unfair, as all the mactera projectiles, exploders, and praetorians barfing everywhere could potentially just cause too much unavoidable damage, even if you were playing well. But maybe that could work somehow. Idk.

Another interesting concept is that, in addition to using Nitra to call re-supplies, you could use Nitra on various machines around the settlements. Like imagine paying 35 Nitra to activate a turret somewhere for a few minutes. Or paying 100 Nitra to activate a beacon that provides some sort of buffs to Dwarves in the area. Stuff like that. That way you'd have to choose between calling for re-supplies or using your Nitra for other things.

And speaking of gathering Nitra, you'd have time to go out and search for minerals. It wouldn't just be one big wave. Depending on the difficulty, you'd have to fight off 3, 5, or 7 waves. Before the first wave and then in-between every subsequent wave, you'd get a few minutes to go out and scout for gold, secondary mission items, and of course - Nitra. You could also press a button to call the next wave early, but every Dwarf would have to press it. Or not, idk. You could troll either way I suppose.

Experimental Plasma Charger:
Swap T3: Charge Speed and T1: Larger Battery around.
A weapon with no reload and no limit to fire rate should not have ammo and damage upgrades on the same tier because instead of firing from your 100 ammo two bullets that do 20+6 = 52 damage, you can fire from your 150 ammo three bullets that deal 20 = 60.

This would allow the player to decide between:
T1 - stronger basic shots, stronger charge shots, or quick charge shots
T3 - cheaper charge shots, or more total ammo

These options are more comparable and result in more meaningful variation in builds, while partially nerfing the ridiculous ammo count on the EPC (30 charge shots compared to the PGL's 11 and the Breach Cutter's 22) because the player wouldn't be able to take both ammo conserving upgrades at once

100/5 means 20 charge shots
150/8 means 18 charge shots but much more ammo for basic shots.

I think this migth be hard to implement into the game, but I think there should be a biome with water, underground seas, waterfalls even rivers. I believe it makes sense since practically all live forms (known) are based on water. I can see the problem water would bring to the caves and everything but in my opinion it would be a cool update, you could even make underwater spitballer and pretorians which are swampy or something. And on top of that there would then be a way to take no fall damage at all >.< at least in certain areas.

Minigun Mod Fixes
T2 Oversized Drum (+300 ammo) and High Velocity Rounds (+2 Damage) are incomparable.
The ammo upgrade grants +15% ammo but the damage upgrade grants +25% damage. Rather than take longer to fire more bullets to kill an enemy, you can fire for shorter and kill the enemy with less bullets that deal more damage. The minigun has no other damage bonuses that can multiply with this paltry ammo increase, that a minigun equipped with High Velocity Rounds couldn't take advantage of to greater effect. (Damage multiplier bonuses get better the more you have while Additive damage bonuses don't)

Oversized Ammo Drum should grant at least +600 ammo (+30% ammo) or High Velocity Rounds be nerfed to +1 damage (+10% damage)

The ability to toggle deployed turrets on/off by smacking with pickaxe would be nice. It'd help to conserve ammo when the mobs aren't overwhelming.

Suggestion: Change 'perk points' to be called 'talent points'. Some people at this point have excess perk points they have no use for. I'm sure new perks will come out, but then what?

I think we should be able to make long-term upgrades to our Dwarves themselves, giving them upgrades and abilities beyond perks. You could still use talent points on perks, but also these new upgrades.

Idea for a new tool for the Scout: A micro-storage device (or "cut-and-paste gun")

Point this tool at a carryable item within 5 meters (loose gemstone, mini MULE leg, etc.) and hold the trigger (for maybe 3 seconds) -- the object gets "stored" in the micro-storage device. Maximum storage capacity is 1 item.

Once you have an object in the tool's micro-storage compartment, you can move around freely (no movement penalty).

You can release the stored item by holding down the tool's trigger again -- and the item can be "dropped" anywhere within 5 meters of you.

Tool can be used 3 times before running out of ammo.

Myself, and my game group, don't like that the assignment board system limits you to a single specific mission.

We only get a few hours a week to play and pursuing the new weapons as a group means its been weeks since we've been able to actually choose a mission based on our prefered type and biome. Earlier in beta we'd negotiate what resources to go after and then compare that to the few available missions and it felt much more engaging. Clearly we'll return to that eventually, but it's taking too long. I would strongly prefer at least a couple options on how to complete the assignments.

The probationary period makes sense for tutorial reasons, but it also feels too long. I think game types shouldn't repeat, and options for a basic mining mission should just remain open during probabtion for players wanting a break in between tackling new/harder mission types.

PLEASE READ: I don't know if anyone else is irritated by this, but people who join missions mid or late mission shouldn't get full bonus. They join to get the full rewards and leave right after the game, I have done this myself and it kills the squad making theme of a group of dwarves on a mission together. I would like to see partial rewards for players who join later. One way to do this could be making the rewards scale with what is done after they join for their rewards, that way they cant join when you are basically calling drop pod. This would incentivize staying with teams, and decentivizing jumping.

adding armor breaking onto the drillers flamer (as a base stat and not an upgrade) would make it much more versatile for both the driller himself as well as the rest of the team, especially towards larger enemies. basically, any source of fire damage from the flamer (sticky flames, DOT, direct) would cause random chunks of armor to come flying off of bugs

making it so a little sound plays when bits of the armor break would be a good way to give players the feeling that they are making glyphid popcorn, too driller

SUGGESTION:
Nerf the base fire wall damage and direct damage of the flamethrower. And then rejiggle the mods around to get these three overarching builds:
SITCKY FLAMES IGNITION BUILD:
When you choose firewall ignition build, make it similar to how it was before. the update. With less direct damage and firewall damage as the tradeoff for setting targets on fire consistantly. This build takes the longest to kill, but is reliable.
STICKY FLAMES DAMAGE BUILD:
When you choose firewall damage build, make it do more damage in the upgrades, to compensate for the base nerf, and maybe a little bit extra. Kills enemies faster relative to ignition builds, but is less reliable in terms of AoE and setting enemies on fire. + Add more feedback for enemies ontop of firewalls.
DIRECT DAMAGE BUILD:
When you choose direct damage build, the direct damage is applied in a cone for some more AoE and increased. Ideally it would kill enemies faster than firewall and ignition, but would be much worse in terms of AoE and setting enemies on fire.

The goal of these suggestions is to create three overarching "builds" that make use of the three damage types provided by flamethrower while staying withing his class role.

I've already suggested weapon skins, as have many people, but what about event-based items and skins?

We already have the Oktoberfest/Halloween/Christmas hats, so why not some other stuff to go with them?

I'm thinking candy-cane pickaxes, ornament grenades, Christmas-light flares (would just blink between the class' color and white), and perhaps even festive reskins of the guns (that would just be skins, so your upgrades would still be applied!).

And instead of just buying these regularly, you'd have to earn them in special ways. You know those presents around the map? What if those dropped an event-only type of mineral... like "Festivite" or "Merrystone" or something, and by collecting those, along with other minerals and of course credits, you could buy the holiday event items.

Same could go for next Halloween, too. Except the items would require candies you'd have to collect from popping pumpkins.

Could also be event-themed armor too, like Santa suits that just match the color of each dwarf. Or Halloween costumes, lol. Make the Gunner a demon, the Driller could be a Swamp Monster, the Scout could be a Vampire, Mad Scientist for the Engie...

Mission Objective Adjustment - Draft V1

Problem Statement:
Many missions currently are heavily incentivized toward quick completion. Mining the minimum amount possible and avoiding as much combat as possible. As a result "optimal" gameplay leans toward experiencing the minimal amount of the game.

Proposed solution:
Mission "Ratings" which will be letter-grades as to different aspects of a completed mission (Aspects include: Mining, Killing, Revives[Downs], Time Spent, etc...)

Elaboration:
Upon completion of a mission a team will obtain 4 letter ratings

Mining - % ore (all types) of cave mined.
Killing - total glyphid kills from team
Revives - Numbers of revives used/ downs (Leaving teammate behind automatically degrades one letter)
Time spent - Time spent in mission.

Incentive: apply hazard bonus based off letter grading and hazard level, numbers to be determined comparing current hazard bonus values.

Notes: thresholds for higher ratings will be MISSION DEPENDENT. This will require some adjustment. Thresholds best if obtained from biometrics (take sample of data from random set of users and determine percentile values)

Notes2:
Recognition of introducing a large system/overhaul
Recognition of possibly making all A grades unrealistic with some missions/circumstances

Re-visit the beer buffs. I don't get the point of only having 1 available beer type per pre-mission. Especially when it's Dark Morkite, when Morkite missions are only one of many types. The other buffs (Pickaxe damage and Health) are useful anywhere.

How about letting all beers be available at all times, and changing the buffs a little.

I think a great game mode could be an glyphid nest assault.

The dwarves have to take some sort of glyphid artifact or resource from a glyphid nest - an area full of eggs. The dwarves will have to escort or carry signal device or maybe mine a resource to build it. This signal device would be needed to order an orbital strike from the space rig. It would be put in the nest and then guarded while it activated. After the strike the nest would release a gas that would chase the dwarves to the drop pod.

Different Grappling Tools such as climbing boots which can allow you to walk up walls with a certain amount of charge or swinging gun which is like the scouts personal swinging rope so they can spiderman across things. Better RNG for missions, especially point extraction. There happen to be a few base forms which are barely ever different regardless of the mission and biome. Salvage is another one. More often than not the place to defend the uplink and fuel spawns in a wall together with the pod, resulting in a big, hollowed-out dome. Lastly recurring structures in mining expeditions, especially the end cave. These are all really recognizable and contribute to more quickly making the game dull for those who have played it more than a little

Suggestion #1: I always made that suggestion and still not having that feature. [When the game leader are leaving the team, switch the hosting player to another player instead of kicking everybody to the main menu]. Its anoying when it's always the leader leaving to be kicked out all the time when we have a good team already setup.

The present state of storms - Contributing to the experience of the game or not?
I have some second thoughs of the storms. At first I enjoyed them, making the environment feeling more alive. But after a few hours in game I started to feel more and more annoyed by them.

I want to point out that the I like the overall idea of a weather/environment effect. But I am not sure if I enjoy how the storms in this game is executed. For these reasons:

  1. I've started to be annoyed by their whole "clipping" appearance. They just appear out of nowhere and go through everything. For me it removes a bit of immersion (in a game with space dwarves.. I know.)

  2. There is no way to counteract them. Not necessary a requirement but since they clip through everything, digging a trench or hole for the dwarf to relax in is futile. "What would you do in the trench Disgruntled"? Heck do I know, but it would feel better for my immersion.

In conclusion: The whole storm clipping through the map is probably the thing that bugs me the most.

The Breach Cutter is currently too much of a "Delete" button. I have played nearly 400 hours of the game nearly all of it on engi. The cutter would be more fun if you increased its ammo and clip size and reduced its damage making it a more of a backup weapon than the outright deleter it is now. I say this because it is just too easy to solo a praetorian horde with 2-4 shots

A idea for shooting range, you should have the different aliens, (swarmer, web shooter, etc.) and it should be in a long hallway that you can walk down with changeable distances, so you could see damage drop off and such. also with the mission control i dont know if you already can get in it but you should be able to talk to them and do like a barter for things. In the mini mule salvages you should be able to find the died people and loot them for minerals and ammo. (possible for cosmetics there) and you could do something with the grenades for the engineer like a Molotov or something. anyway love your game hope for some new tech!

I have noticed something that gave me an idea, we originally have the primary objective, and the side objective.

What if we made bonus qoutas that incentivises cleaning house?

For instance. in a morkite mission, you get "collect 200 morkite" however after reaching the objective, there is a bonus objective of getting "100 more morkite" as a Cash and Exp bonus.

And for egg collection. you get the mission of "Collect 5 eggs" but afterwards, it gives you "Collect 2 more eggs" for a cash and exp bonus.

Means that for people who dares and lasts longer with more common enemy waves, they can get more gold and more Exp. Maybe instead of exp it gives a loot modifier? so you get x% of already attained loot, Like gold, bismor, etc

Hi. I play DRG since May 2017 , hazard 4 exclusively with friends.
I give suggestions from a perspective of a hardcore player who is not afraid to lose a mission and wants to endure difficult, complex missions. I understand that these suggestions may not be suitable for lower difficulties because not everyone wants dark souls experience. So I consider these suggestions to apply only to 4+ hazard.

This is the part with minor stuff. Minor because I see it as config file changes, not game overhauls. Latter part will be in a separate text block.

  • death delay perk is completely broken. It makes any mission a cakewalk. It will mitigate any mistake you've made or even save your life because of how widespread red sugar is. You can revive without any risk because the perk will make sure you'll finish the revive and even maybe rev up another guy. Then those guys will wait for their cooldowns and revive you and somebody else, etc. This perk is absurd, very easy to abuse and just broken. Suggestion: just delete if from the game, really. Or cut it to 3 seconds max if difficulty is haz4+. Or make it fill 3 slots. It's really hard to tell what to do with it other than straight up delete it because of how broken it is.

  • elimination is laughably easy on haz4. It was an issue before the upgrade patch, because of how slow the guy was, but still you had to make some minimal effort (or just run 4 gunners). But now the red big boi became completely impotent and pathetic. His fireball has laughable travel speed, his melee slam completely negated by death delay perk, his HP is small compared to damage players able to output. I respect his green brother way more simply because his acid breath melts people in seconds. The red is just a dummy. Suggestion: fireball travel speed at least 3 times faster. Give him fire breath. Double the HP.

  • mission map needs more missions in general or 3-3s exclusive to veteran miners. It is really sad to see all these 1-1 mining expeditions all the time which are complete waste of time to experienced players. 3-3 mining, which are the only one worth bothering for haz4 player, are rare which is really wrong in my opinion. Before patch 18 or 17, I had no issues with finding a difficult missions and now it's nothing than 1-1/2-2s. It really hurts. I don't need the grind, I don't need the cosmetics, I need emotions and stories and 1-1 or 2-2 won't give one. It mainly applies to mining expedition, but more choice for other modes will be appreciated as well.

  • point extraction generation is a copy paste across all biomes. It's literally the same room with a rig on a slope. Every. Time. I can't remember it being that predictable in earlier builds.

  • generation in other modes, I'd say, is way too friendly. There's always "a safe way", environments give little challenge. The least offender here is dense bio zone and sometimes radiation. Now that's a place to get lost and confused which is great. "Safe" may be alright for a pub or people who run <4 haz, but I'd suggest tune the algorithm for 4+ haz. So we can actually start using our tools for something other than getting morkite off the wall.

  • I'm pretty sure someone said this already, but engie's tool need a change. It gives little utility, it is inconvenient to use. Something like Prey's(2017) foam gun would greatly reinforce engineers utility. You'll be finally able to properly seal holes, build proper stairs and even bridges.

  • combat with bugs in general on haz4. It is too easy. Gun update introduced absurd amount of area damage and damage in general. Suggestion: increase spawn amount and make them more spread out. Right now bugs come in very convenient packs from very convenient single direction. It's very convenient to clear them out in a single blast.

  • mactera grabber. Really cool enemy, but sometimes he's completely stupid and sometimes very deadly. Very inconsistent. I'd suggest to remove the "dumb" part of the code where he drops you from stunning 2 meter height and leave only the 15m one. To compensate the deadliness, make him more rare and more stealthy.

Major stuff

  • final death. Introducing final death may seriously improve the experience for hardcore players. Right now you can do anything because you won’t actually die anyways. Buddies will always get you up, no stakes, nothing to worry about. Something like 3 rev up will do alright. The downside of this are ragequits because who wants to spectate for 15 minutes. To help that I suggest to ship final death feature with ability to order a "new" miner for 120-160 nitra which will basically revive the fallen player.

  • environment as an enemy. I'm having serious issues with this. In real life mining and geology the biggest issue is nature itself. It isn't friendly or convenient. In DRG, nature is a safe, convenient tunnel where you kill stupid bugs. There's also very convenient nitra nodes so you can kill even more bugs. Least offenders here are dense biozone (again) and glacier strata, sometimes magma. They give you some unease, but still not enough. I feel like the biggest issue here is lack of danger from verticality of caves. Fall damage poses no danger to experienced player. The scout bro will always get you up, the digger/gunner bro will help you get out of there. Scout itself is simply immune to the fall damage because he can zip to a wall or the floor. Having an actual abyss you can fall into and die for good is a big part of brining challenge into trespassing the map. With abysses we can now actually use tools for anything other than mining nitra/morkite off the wall. Bringing 4 different classes will start mean something. So no one get hurt, I suggest to ship abysses as a part of cave complexity 4 feature. Don't play them if you don't like.

I have heard that Helldivers what somewhat of an inspiration for DRG, and they have a very solid system for the community to work towards a common goal. Where do the enor pearls come from? That's what I asked myself during a mission in the sandblasted corridors, that map was filled to the brim with spitball infectors and, as we all know, there were quite a few enor pearls as well. I tried to link the two with made-up lore, theorizing that enor pearls are sort of "kidney stones" that form in spitball infectors' stomach (or something like that) if they stay "dormant" for too long. After this useless speculation I realised that (in my opinion) having some biome-specific enemies dropping some chunks of minerals (like my "ancient and sick" variant of the spitball infector) would be intriguing and routine-breaking. I also think that the biodiversity between the biomes should be encouraged, I really love to discover new specimens in this game, even if they are purely cosmetics (like most of the vegetation). I apologize for not being word-perfect in English and for being boring (?)

What do you guys think of a tiered biome system? At the moment, its possible to see all the features a planetary region has to offer in one mission. While I'll admit I haven;t tried every gun yet several I have, such as the engineers shotgun feel like they could maybe use bit more hit feedback? Many times I found myself firing extra shot, or not even knowing if my shots hit because the bugs give almost no indication it feels that they've actually been shot. Guaranteed I recognize even a little bit of extra stagger to guns would effectively make them stronger too but I really feel it will make the already fun chaos of combat feel just that much more visceral.

I kinda wish that the memorial hall had more things in it. For starters, and always asked, add stats or important milestones in it. But that's not original, nor something that should be placed in the hall.

So, instead of stats/milestones, what about global achievements? For example, list failed missions that occured, recent success rates of missions, how many dwarves are mia per mission, etc etc.

This would not only be interesting to see, but is an actual "memorial hall".

I'm new here but I absolutely Love the game. Has anyone suggested a potential Raid system? Rather, really long ~1:30-2 hour expeditions that potentially have stages? And at the higher end they have time limits for certain rewards. The boss could be a rhino with a horn deep in the cave and when you kill him you mine the horn. Or something along those lines. This material could be very rare and you could craft very rare brews or cosmetics with it. As a side note has it been suggested to be able to upgrade the drop pod? Decrease landing time or maybe allow it to dig deeper to the dwarves current location? This would allow you to make some EXTREMELY difficult end mine scenarios, basically only possible with a fully upgraded drop pod. Thanks for the consideration! I really appreciate this game.

Here's just a few suggestions for changing the upgrade paths on the old weapons, since practically everyone I've met says the new weapons are just plain better:

Scout's Assault Rifle:

  • Replace Battle Cool (increased accuracy on kills) with Ammo Thirsty: Gain +2 bullets for each kill on a medium-sized or larger enemy. Melee not required, but melee would also grant a bullet. Bullets deposited into ammo STORAGE, not the clip itself.
  • Buff High Capacity Magazine to add +10 ammo per clip instead of +5
  • Could use another Extended Ammo Bags upgrade somewhere. Maybe move a tier 1 or tier 3 upgrade to the currently not-full tier 2, and add it somewhere else.

Driller's Subata Pistol:

  • Increase base damage to 13
  • Buff Mactera Neurotoxin Coating from +10% damage to Mactera to +50% damage.
  • Buff Damage Vs Burning from +50% damage to +75% damage.
  • Another clip size upgrade wouldn't hurt. Moving the reload-speed upgrade to another tier or adding another would also be nice, as it's on tier 3 with two other great upgrades.
  • A new tier 5 upgrade, Subata Special: Shots have a 50% chance to bounce off of the target to a nearby target within 10m of that target, dealing damage. 50% chance for that shot to also bounce again (No more than 2 bounces can occur maximum).

Gunner's Lead Storm Minigun:

  • To compliment 'Hot Bullets', there should be an upgrade somewhere along the line that makes the gun heat up much slower once it gets into the red zone.
  • Either buff 'Aggressive Venting', or change it to a new ability. I'm thinking something like, Big Game Hunter: +40% damage against Praetorians, Goo Bombers, Spitballers, Brood Nexuses, and Dreadnaughts.

Would be cool if the scout could shoot other dwarves with his grapple gun and pull them to him. That way if you have a 2 man team of say, a scout and an engineer, the engineer isn't totally hosed when the mule decides to go straight up a wall on the way back to the pod

I've searched for about 7 mins now and can't find this exact suggestion so I'll give it a shot:
I'm rly new so if I'm just being stupid please just ignore this, but I've found it very hard on the first missions of a type, for example the mule recovery mission took me literally over 30mins to figure out what to do and gave up and searched it on yt; I feel like a mini demo on what to do in each missions type would be grately appreciated and would save a few (like myself) a lot of time trying to learn the game without giving in and looking to someone else to explain it for us ^-^

An idea for a mission type: could we possibly get a mission type similar to the mining missions but it's in orbit of the planet and you're jumping between asteroids. You could also add new enemy types that can jump between the asteroids as well. (Jumping spiders do exist)

Secondary fire for weapons and gadgets? flame thrower and cryo become a shorter wider cone, assault rifles go from single to auto or burst to auto or a mix, double barrel shotty shoots two at once or one at a time, grenade launcher rolls along the ground like a bowling ball letting you run it down tunnels, platform gun goes vertical to block paths for a bit, grapple becomes a swing rope for longer horizontal travel or at half length for balancing, pistols let you fan hammer mode or fire slower depending on current mode, minigun just spins and heats but doesnt overheat just hits the peak and can be used like a heated crowd disperser, there could be tons of combos

Hey, could we have weapon presets? Now that we can adapt guns to any situation or how we like it, could we have presets? Similar to how Rocket League uses presets for each car. I could have a preset for gunner with the gatling gun and then a preset for the other gun, a tank set up or mode armor piercing set up etc.

Hey there! Just a bare bones suggestion, but I think giving the gunner a green flare as opposed to the standard blue flare he currently has would be a nice change. Currently, everyone has different colored flares besides the Scout/Gunner, and just to diversify between the two I believe a color change would be neat. drgbeer

Having our own planets! We could buy them on a platform that we unlock on assignments. We can then maybe build our own space rigs, bars, minigames and even drop pods(?). I see so much potential and fun in this idea. I hope you guys consider this.

I'm not sure if this has already been mentioned, but it would be nice if when seated in the drop pod, that was SAFE POINT for you in the mission.
This scenario has happened a few times. On the way back one person takes a wrong turn(usually those damn engineers...think they are so smart....), or is slow, or whatever reason gets disjointed from the group and probably wont make it back to drop pod due to location and logistics. 1-2-3 people are waiting with low ammo(or not) ready to leave as it is too dangerous to now go out and rescue the last member. Sitting inside the drop pod ready to go, yet the swarms of aliens are too much and eventually they all die inside the pod, waiting for the last dwarf to make it (or more than likely die) so they may leave.
Usually exploders/praetorians will kill you through the walls of space pod even when you cannot see them and are defending the front door, trying to leave an opening for your last compatriot.
I don't in ANY way discourage team play, in fact I will usually be the first to leave the pod and go off on a rescue mission trying to save a fallen comrade, but when its a choice of 1 person dying and completing the mission (with the loss of 1 brave soul.... for karl....), or all miners dying and not completing the mission.
I feel there should be at least a "strap in" button to keep you from continuing assisting with fight while strapped in but guaranteeing mission success.

i think this was said but i cant find it in search so "love puppies" that's what they are called in spiral knights. they are type a enemy that has a 1/10000~ chance to replace a normal enemy in spiral knights they shoot hearts at you that heal you but in this game they could vomit nitra or gold after eating a dead glyphid so that you cant just wait for a it for hours. it should have a very recognizable look to it so you don't accidently hurt it like it could be pink with a heart on its shell.
it would be a extremely rare find but it would be amazing

on a side note I think lootbugs should go back to dropping 15-25 instead of 5-15 but just make them more rare so its more exciting when you find them.

Adding bug faction wars would be super cool to see. As a random or even mission modifer like cave leech cluster. You could see the miners going into a mission and running into a massive bug vs bug war and have to choose between cutting through them or trying to avoid it until they thin out. Or just accidentally gets caught in the middle of a sudden battle field. It's like fire ants vs black ants.

A new modifier: Intoxicating atmosphere. Similar to rich atmosphere, but negative. Maybe +10% reward. Gives you a mild drunk effect indefinitely, or there may be clouds of intoxicating gases that make you drunk until you pass out (though maybe just temporarily unlike the drinks from the Abyss bar so as to not make it too game breaking.)

Sorry for bad English here is my suggestions

1.) Give Scout some kind of longer term marker system to deploy flags on deposits or explored caves. (Upgrade from throwing flares) Example, Grapple up to deposits Flag, zip off awaiting Platform or Zip/Drill to come back too mine

2.) Make Gunner Zip line max of 2 but returnable through interaction at a pole. Instead of 'use 4 then resupply' make it 'have up to 2 used max, but can reload them'. I like building a 'mine cart' system on some missions with large caves and wanted to exaggerate that feeling without eating resupply. Zip and Platforms both provide LARGE points of utility while the ropes are fairly limited and resource intensive.

3.) Allow deposits to spawn inside of walls 3m in. Allow Driller to 'see' them on CTR scan. This gives him something to drill for during missions. beyond 'end of mission tunnel'. Time consuming but rewarding 'mini game'

4.) Give Driller a bonus to resource mining. Hes a driller after all, he should be better at mining. Hes difficult to get up for high or hard to reach resources but efficient when he mining. More time to get up high, but more resources. His pick upgrade sucks. Doesn't do what you would think reading the perk. This is a part of that.

6.) Mission Idea / Proxy Endless/Explore mode. Mission starts like normal, Timer gives 15 or 10 minutes. You get to explore as deep or as much as you want of the spawned level but must return by the time limit. After returned to pod Option to continue or return to the surface. If deeper Drop Pod goes 'deeper' spawning new level to explore, Difficulty increases as does rewards, % gains each level.
This mode focuses less on missions and more on exploring and surviving as well as provides 'how deep can you go' difficulty providing some endgame.

Sorry if these are common I attempted to search and didn't find matches. Critiques welcome.

Since steam and windows don't play nice together which makes it so that users on separate platforms cannot play together maybe make an account system that holds all your player data and do something similar to what minecraft did and allow players who have bought the game in one place to use a code or something to be able to download it on the platform they want to play on

I had a idea about something. What if there where like miners that got left behind and when you find them and bring them back you get like a special headgear, outfit, beard style or if your lucky a custom gun. Like a heavy assault rifle for gunner or a new pistol for scout.

Another thing is a thing from other games where evac goes bad so your left there until a rescue team comes which is another team sent to get you out but before you leave you all got to defend against a huge wave of bugs. If you get back you would get a new messed up hairstyle, scraggly beard and dirty/damaged armor set. Personally it would make since because it’s a massive mining operation, people are getting lost especially a delicate one like this.

Another game mode I thought of is land exploration. You go to the planet surface and explore the world along with start a mining camp where you can upgrade with funds and minerals you don’t use.

I searched for some of the key terms, but either way i hope i am not repeating somebody else's suggestions:

1 - An increase in voxel damage and explosion power/radius would be nice.

2- Weaponry
The "LEAD STORM" Powered Minigun is nice but shoots a bit slow for a minigun.

The "THUNDERHEAD" Heavy Autocannon feels like it shoots firecrackers not explosive rounds. Would really be nice if it had a bigger explosion and some extra voxel damage. (Emptied a full mag into a wall and barely dug1/4th of what you would dig with a pickaxe.

The Frag Grenades are very underwhelming as well.

3-The ability to choose what dance you do.

4-Extra points for doing a mission while drunk?

I have no idea what's all been previously suggested by while my buddies and I were playing we though of a few things:

  1. Double or triple the enemies using pretty much what's there, making more elemental versions like perhaps ants that blind, or biome specific fire/poison ants, just more variations of the same to increase quantity.
  2. Biome specific ores to encourage people to play each biome more (not sure this is a thing already, I don't think it is).
  3. Goblins/Orcs? It's a fantasy mining game so why not have a rare occurrence of finding an enemy mining/living stronghold, you kill all the enemy troops and then find some rare minerals or perhaps ingredients to craft themed armor/weapons in their style.
  4. Mole enemy? the type of mole with the weird finger-like protrusions from it's nose, could be found near a valuable resource but it gets defensive and fights off the players as soon as it senses them.
  5. More weapons? since it's fantasy it shouldn't be too hard to come up with more weapons, possibly even sharing some weapons between classes, I found the drillers second secondary to be kind of lack-luster tbh, but maybe I'm using it wrong.
    All the ideas we had talked about while playing for now.

Undo recent nerfs to player damage. Instead, give us a new higher tier difficulty for missions. Make the difficulty a player choice, rather than decrease ammo-to-per-shot-damage efficiency and make the game slower and more infuriating.
Increasing time to kill makes no one happy or excited and just grinds combat to a halt.

could something also be done regarding point extraction in the lava area? if you get the exploders on/near your platform, you are guaranteed to have that magma ground shit everywhere around the platform. it's even worse on solo. just played a small bit on solo in the lava area (point extraction) and with the fire and fall damage it's needlessly punishing and unfun. quit halfway through. i'd suggest giving variety to the point missions, they all seem to have lots of verticality but you could just lay them more horizontally. idk, out of all the missions, i have had the least fun in the point extraction missions mainly to do with poopy extraction pod placements.

can the crystals show up on the map like the eggs do, because I died after looking for one of the crystals for a straight half an hour. I had 6/7 and when i died and i was so frustrated the whole time looking for it. i get the terrain with the glowing spots and the growing crystals shows where it is, but i end up going back to the same spots a dozen time. you show the eggs on the map, why don't you show the crystals. would've saved me some heartache. i don't know if i'm just bad or stupid, but during my entire search i was pissed. definitely not going to br playing those missions if it doesn't get changed. i wasn't playing in the ice are for this mission BTW, so i couldn't see the glow stop through the ice.

If you choose a difficulty that higher than level-2, the shield will become destructible.

  1. You start 100% shield.
  2. The shield will absorb more damage than before.
  3. Your shield will recharge very slowly if your shield has 1% more.

  5. You can repair the broken shield from ammo resupplier.

Like said daily, you get like a different dance, different beer, xp or some accessories.

Currently the perk system feels rushed and its the only weak point in the game in my opinion, I wish it was more skill tree based, example the one in borderlands. Here is just a rough example of what I mean, there could be 3 branches, one being combat oriented one being surviability oriented one being mining oriented, people could personalize their dwarf more towards what roll they wanna fulfill like go full combat and use most of the combat passives or mix 2 or 3 of the branches together to be more an all arounder. The passives in the mining skill tree would have example, % to mining speed, % to mineral carried, % mineral mined, the speed at which you move while carrying heavy objects. Surviability, could have % more shield , % more to hp , reduction to fall damage and the last at the bottom, if you use all your skill points in the surviability skill tree, you can use the master skill "iron will" that way not everybody will have iron will, only those who went full surviability. Same for combat, you could increase your overall damage, ammo capacity etc. So you could either specialize in one of the branch, or mix a few. It would be similar to rpg passive trees and I think it could be a good replacement for the current perk system and even some perks we currently have could be included in the system im suggesting.

A completely separate currency for purchasing cosmetics, for people leveling up they cant buy cosmetics with gold unless they want their upgrading experience to completely halt because of the lack of funds. So what if cosmetics are purchased through a secondary currency that's either awarded at the end of a mission along with basic gold, it could be awarded in addition to the perk points when you complete milestones, or you could even make it its own type of ore down in the caverns. That way people leveling up can bling out and try new cosmetics without having to slow down the upgrade process and it gives the veteran players more work to do after they've maxed everything out. The biggest concern with this idea is that gold is essentially useless after you finish upgrading everything, but that can easily by fixed with just more upgradeable weapons being added into the game, things like player housing or really any other new additions to the game that people can spend their gold on.

Add more "inventory slots". Make eye accessories separate from head accessories so that we dont have to unlock the same items all over again as "combined versions". It would be nice if all of the drinks were available, the special would be cheaper same price as it is now. The others would be relatively expensive maybe 3x-4x. Also, what if they were stackable, but you got drunker as you did it. So you can have more damage and more health but you also have blurred vision. Its like drunken courage. That way when more drinks come out you have access to ones that apply to all missions, instead of pigeon holing you into certain ones dark morkite drink.

I dont think anyo e has mentioned this yet but having a scope upgrade from the m-1000 would be amazing, the best game i have ever had was a poin extract where i was sitting on a floating rock with my m-1000 covering my teammates, a scope would be circumstantial and thus would be an important tradeoff choice youd have to make, this also diversifies the role of the scout from, 'guy who moves fast with light' to include, 'sniperfire cover guy who can get to hard to reach places to cover teammates' subdividing each classes potential strong suits makes the game more interesting so that you can hone in and master a skill rather than being a jack of all trades

Hope yall are already working on something like this but my buds thought of something and Im the only one in the discord so here goes. The dev team can put in a new event that happens on random missions much like the error cube. The event is someone finds a tunnel that has signs of INTELLIGENT life like writings, broken weapons or the sort. This event would then be tracked passively and each new update or even on a random hot fix a new level to the event is added that slowly ramps up the detail adding in bones or old alien technology that relays messages to the miners. The final level to the event type being that the miners find some sort of 'last stand' that has been buried in rubble, that once found, triggers a beacon and a massive creature tears though the cave they are all in like a mine head and causes everything to get tense and silent in the whole level, the idea being that this unknown creature has scared off all the bugs for a time. Add in some horror elements and it can make for an AMAZING event. Hope this is new since I didnt find it searching, and I hope this makes it to a discussion, thanks DRG team, dont let it be an understatement that this game you guys have is a cornucopia of potential, love every bit of it

A suggestion for the gunner: An alternative shield generator, which is only a half-sphere, and so doesn't protect against bugs coming up from behind. As a trade-off, though, the radius is larger, and any shots going through the shield from the inside have their damage buffed. This shield would require more tactical placement to offer protection, and be potentially less useful against swarms coming from all sides, but offers significant benefits for example for fighting Dreadnoughts.

Also, a suggestion for a new type of enemy: A camouflage bug. It takes up the colours of whichever surface it is sat on, and so becomes nearly impossible to spot in the dark, and will jump at players when nobody is looking at it. It does however become significantly easier to spot and kill when it is lit up.

when you press the button to launch the minehead, rather than launching it straight away it starts a timer, somewhere 15-30 seconds, so if you wanted to deposit anything it gives you some time to do so. especially useful when playing with newer players. consider the timer because of the rocket prepping itself to launch

Remove or dim the glowing specs that indicate minable minerals (like Jadiz, Enor Pearls etc) once they've been mined. It's confusing when you join a Point Extraction game half-way and can't tell which Aquarq has been collected or not. My solution to solve this would simply be to dim the specs so they no longer glow, when the mineral is a set amount of feet away from its source. That way it's obvious that someone has been and mined the mineral.

Ultimates, how about there was something like red sugar, maybe blue sugar or something. you collect enough of it and you can get an ultimate for each class, kind of like the overwatch/LoL/destiny type of deal where you get some form of op power that each class can use one time per run (Or on a huge cooldown if an endless mode is introduced) It has to be saved and used properly, for instance.

Scout could use his to mark every ore in a massive area or highlight all enemies for all to see for a duration.

engineer could buff his turrets torbjorn style or have unlimited turret ammo for a period.

Gunner could hunker down and become unkillable but unmovable for a small period of time or have no overheat on his guns.

Driller could change his drill rotation and put them in the ground letting them shake instead of spin making enemies stagger for a period, or perhaps driller collapses a huge chunk out of the rock to make a large room fit for holding off a horde in, I know my mates make rooms all the time in the walls to fight a horde.

I think that adding some sort of "randomly generated" assignments system could be cool. They probably wouldn't give the biggest rewards (something small like some credits, materials, etc.), but more assignments could replace them every so often. What I'm trying to think of is something like the "Alerts" system from Warframe if anyone here has played that before. Might be really cool.

There are many game studios that support other communities through the means of partnering with them (could be sponsorship, giveaways, marketing, etc). These communities could be Discord, Twitch, Reddit and all sorts of other communities. Gaming communities can be a great tool to help spread the news about DRG. My suggestion is to create a partner section much like the #fan-communities but also think about a possible partnership program that accepts gaming communities based on certain criteria to gauge business interest.

Whatever you do to haz 5 to make it harder, just dont end up removing things like light or revives. That just takes the fun out it. Adding a greater variety of enemies in each wave. Perhaps buffing praetorian health and dreadnought health. Make spawn patterns more irregular. Make spawns occur from all sides. Increase the objective count required to complete the mission. Add a point defense section that must be completed before boarding the drop pod. Just some ideas.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, and I hesitate to use this word, but a 'survival' game mode where you and your team progress deeper and deeper into an endlessly generating map, mining as much as you can on the way, with increasingly more dangerous waves as you go on.
The deeper you get the more it costs to send down ammo drops, but there are more and more resources further down.
Drop pod pickups can be called in at certain intervals, but once you leave you have to start from the beginning.
To tie in with this, a leaderboard system for the team that gathers the most resources and survives the longest, for a kind of endgame player competition, since I figure resources and money would become obselete pretty quickly.

I had an idea for an item for the scout. Some mechanical pants that would let you walk up cave walls to get the hard-to-reach minerals. It would probably have some sort of fuel/ammo like the driller's arms. It would go in the same slot as the grappling hook. Obviously your movement speed with them equipped would go waaaayyyy down in order to prevent it from being a straight upgrade.

Passive upgrades upon leveling. Right now leveling is kinda pointless besides gun license and upgrades. If a system were to be added simmiler to the kf2 leveling system that would be functional and give a reason to look forward to ranking up. For those who dont know, kf2 has a ranking system where for each level you rank up you gain higher passive stats such as, decreased damage, more ammo storage, ect. And every 5 levels in kf2 you get an active stat where you choose between two tree options on diff. Stats you can gain such as faster attacks, faster reload, better armor, ect. This type of system would work really well in deep rock because it gives the classes mor customization and it also gives more experianced players who have invested in their classes to get rewarded for their time and effort. This adds some of the wndgame content that people are looking for and makes leveling actually something to look forward to rather than the arbitrary number that it is rn.

New class idea: GEOLOGIST
He is a specialist on finding minerals and such. He gets bonus items when mining and has an improved scanner.

Also an upgrade idea for MULE: Each class improves it in a different way.

Scout: increases velocity
Engineer: ability to fly for a short period of time
Gunner: provides shield similar to his own
Digger: MULE can dig holes as well
Geologist: ability to gather minerals laying on the ground (those pebbles that you got when you are full)

All these upgrades costs nitra and gold

It has been suggested before in a few different ways, but i don't think with this iteration yet.
The voice line "Die like your mother did" got me thinking. Who is their mother? Where is the queen? How could this be a repeatable event?

Once a week/day you are able to go on a mission to hunt a Glyphid Queen, which rewards you with an accessory and some materials/a Glyphid Queen token/claw you can exchange for 200 materials of your choosing.

The environment leading to her cavern could be random, but the final room could always be the same map tile. A big chamber, the floor littered with eggs, picture the last 15 mins of Aliens. The queen has an egg tube protruding from her abdomen. She can spit acid and make ground spikes.

Much like the glyphid dreadnought, she could have a layered health bar;
The first stage she is immobile and uses her ranged attacks.
The second, she rips free of the egg tube and stalks you around the room.
And the third, she has lost all of her armor and now hunts you with devastating speed around the caverns.

Thoughts on a more mobile mini boss to join the dreadnought ? Maybe something like this? High movement speed and mobility, can jump a fair distance. Weak points are on the arms, but are small. Shooting them can break off the limbs reducing the movement speed. The general idea is that it represents a counterpart to the dreadnought which is slow, bulky and "tanky". This one would require a bit more teamwork as it would be capable of catching up to players unless the arms are shot off.

When I was doing the assignment for it I thought "wow cool they even made a mineral market" and then was disappointed by what it actually turned out to be. In order to make it viable and balanced very expensive luxury items need to be added first. The inspiration for trading mechanics can be taken from Steam market for example. The game should take its cut like in real world. It will fit well given that the in-game company is greedy already. Players will have to get credits from somewhere to buy minerals — a good cause to implement credit-only missions with higher pay. Regarding avoidance of difficult minerals missions because you can buy them: difficult minerals will have to be mined first to be present on the market so the price will go up incentivizing some part of players to actually do them. Warframe has unofficial markets and they work splendid regarding prices/item surplus balance. As I said the real consequence for devs is that the market will have to be fueled with something e.g. constant arrival of new hard-to-get cosmetic items.

drgbeer Suggestion: make default game finder range to Far. My default ping to any country outside is 100+ (around 130 in most of the games). Inside its 25-40. So whenever I open the quick join terminal I don't see any games at all (I saw a game from my country only once for 23 hours of playtime, not much of players here). Whenever I host a game no one joins because people with normal pings don't even see me in their game browsers. Every time I start up DRD I have to set the game range manually to Far which brings a big list of games most of the which play with no lags or problems whatsoever. I'm not sure what problems could show up with this change since games are sorted by ping anyway but I believe this will surely make much more games filled and less public games with only one player.

Scrap the fifth class. Unless team sizes go up to accommodate (which is very unlikely) then adding a fifth class is just going to cause muddling of the class selections, because it won't be able to contribute to a healthy team composition like the four current classes can without either being redundant or becoming the new standard and replacing one of the current ones.

Make the platform gun shoot cubes instead. This will give a larger margin of error for engineers who use it and put it more on par with other support weapons because now it can be dug with a pickaxe to be shaped differently depending on the purpose. If wherever the flat portion of the platform is formed is kept the same, this should have minimal impact on players used to the old platforms. You could also instead remove reloading on the gun and instead give the ability to toggle between platforms and cubes with the R button instead.

Add an all modifications in the row modification for each row of modifications which has the prerequisite of having all other modifications in the row as well as perhaps requiring a promotion in the class. Right now it really just feels like a waste of resources to purchase multiple different modifications in the same row for weapons and I feel as though even if skins were to be added, it doesn't necessarily solve the problem. In this manner, you can increase the number of ridiculous things players can do as well as not worry as much about game balance in terms of individual modifications. You can further balance this by increasing the amount of materials and credits this upgrade costs to be 4-5 times the amount it requires to gets each modifications individually.

Add an additional Perk Slot for every time a character is promoted. After my first promotion, it felt very... empty afterwards. While still fun to play, it greatly reduced my drive to play the game because it didn't feel like there was anything really waiting for me. The Perks implemented already feel like they're either really good or have a minimal effect on the game. Just by adding a single slot every time someone promotes (that's 25 levels, + the promotion mission + the cost to promote) i feel as though it'd make the game's replayability even greater than it already is.

I understand there will be a sort of "Difficulty 2.0" update coming, and so I have a suggestion.

Make the difficulty affect how DEEP you drill.

Example: You go hazard 1 - The Drop Pod drills down to about 500 m.
But if you go hazard 4 - It drills down to 2km.

You drill deeper relative to how deep the Biome is and how hard you set the difficulty.

The deeper you get the more difficult and horrible creatures you encounter! Makes sense, right? (sort of)
This would give the Difficulty Setting an explanation, instead of "just making the game harder".

An Idea for a new class: Medic. The medic has two utility tools (aside from his main gun and sidearm). These tools could be a so called 'Sugar Compactor' and a 'Decoy gun'. The Sugar Compactor stores excess Red Sugar which the Medic mines. The gun will feature a secondary 'health bar'. This health bar won't count towards the health of the Medic himself, but will be used up by healing teammates. So in stead of reviving teammates when they're down, you can heal them up before they run out of health. In order to make this Sugar Compacter more versitile, it can crate a health pack that will be dropped on the ground for you or other teammates to pick up when it suits them. Some upgrade ideas for this gun would be 'sugar store capacity', 'healing shield generator', and 'range extention'. The second tool would be the Decoy Gun. It will shoot an inflatable dwarf decoy, which will take the heat off of when getting swarmed. It will only effect a certain amount of bugs, however. For example, it will have a 75% chance of attracting a bug (can be improved with upgrades). The decoy won't work for larger bugs. Only one decoy can be active at a time. The main reason why this utility gun is useful for the Medic, is because it allows the Medic to heal or revive a teammate without too much contesting bugs. The Medic can shoot a decoy a small distance away to draw the attention away from him and his wounded ally. Upgrade suggestions for the Decoy guy are: decoy explodes after getting destroyed, larger attraction range, higher attraciton chance, more than one decoy at once. I have thought this class through quite a bit, as you can tell. I can't come up with any original ideas for his main gun and secondary armament, though. I'll leave that up to you. When you call for the drop pod sometimes it's floating way off the ground so you can't access the deposit boxes. Deposit boxes could be larger, be placed lower, have their own mini-ramps to climb up, or you could simply place 1-2 more boxes next to the door of the drop pod.

Would like to be able to refill the sentry guns on the minehead. They typically run out of ammo in the first few minutes of Hazard 5.

Maybe this could be a perk or part of the resupplier perk tier where you are given the ability to refill sentry guns instead of just engineers.

As mention before in #drg-chat, I can suggest 2 new modes: Escort mission (like a use a BULL-E or big mech or some sort of driller machine for cleaning caves, digging tunnels etc) and Station protection (from bugs arriving via meteors etc). + call heavy support things for nitra, like a spotlights in caves or artillery shot from station or small mech, BET-C etc. Thats all.

Here's the first part of the summary of this big idea of mine...
"Fathomless Depths"
The accessible regions of Hoxxes are already very profitable, but the deeper regions of the crust possess even more untapped riches of potentially ludicrous value. Alas, these regions are by nature more dangerous than the surface regions, and more extreme in their conditions. These regions are initially locked to mining crews, and only available to veterans of the company and those who have slain the gatekeepers of these underworldly realms.
Each region possesses unique challenges to a mining team compared to their more tolerable counterparts, but in exchange offer a bounty that even the most humble dwarf cannot help but drool over.

The Glass Cathedral is lies below the Crystalline Caverns, a magnificent natural world of paper-delicate crystal. Much like the Crystal Caverns above, the condensation lends itself to fantastical crystal formations rivalling the finest art of the galaxy. Often, the condensation leads the interior to feel like it's raining, and these same conditions make mineral concentrations larger and more expansive due to the crystal growth and formation of stalagmites and stalagtites. Beware though, the same delicate nature of these crystal formations often leads to vast empty spaces, and the quartz formations may shatter under the weight of even a single dwarf. Likewise, the slumbering insects in the region also have these crystals growing on their own armoured bodies, forming natural armor or even glowing crystals the insects use to fire directed energy blasts! (In summation, LOTS of terrain similar to the white salt platforms of the Salt Pits, everything is made of crystal and shatters easy under the pick, but can break more terrain than intended, and this region has lots of empty space between the crystal growths and the shallow pools at the bottom.

The Deepwood is a vast subterranean forest or jungle that lies in the depths of the Dense Biozone. Much like the shrubbery of the dense biozone, this region is covered in plant life... but for some unknown reason, a huge forest has grown in this place, illuminated by amazingly bright bioluminescent life presumably adapted to blind the animals that would have fed on them. These massive trees and their wood is something of a novelty, but the deep rock corporation is more interested in sizable deposits of valuable minerals the trees have infused into their trunks. Be careful though, the spider variants of the Glyphids have made this place their home, spreading massive webs that have claimed more than one dwarf.

Trench Foot Trench is the dreaded bowels of the Fungus Bogs, a heinous place filled with toxic spewing plants, mold that eats straight through armoured boots, fields of geyers , and seething with angry bugs... but alas, the mineral deposits in this hellish place are almost unrivalled, and the place is rich in insect eggs. Beware of sudden drops and Mactera Swarms!
The Black Mountain is the very foundation of the Glacial Strata region, a single massive hunk of ice harder than steel, where the temperatures reach so low at times that survivors have claimed to see time itself stop. The extreme conditions likewise seem to reward those that delve inside it, in the face of perpetually slick terrain that defies traction and tornados of hailstones twisting through the interior.
The Ocean of Fire lies at the very bottom of Magma Core, literally resting on the molten mantle of the planet. The islands of rock in this cavernous stretch float on the surface, often forming into massive diamond icebergs under the immense pressure and heat. These massive diamonds are also of immense value, but the bugs that manage to survive in this extreme, lava-baked zone are extremely dangerous. They even say some of them lurk within the lava itself!

The Radioactive Exclusion Zone's furthest depths is known only as The Cancer, and an apt name it is. This domain is as much cancerous biomass as it is mineral deposit, and seethes with radiation. Minerals formed under this extremely ion-charged environment are prized, but the prevasive presence of watching eyes and breathing mouths can drive even the most stubborn dwarf insane. The entire place watches you, and it hungers.
Beneath the dried lakebed of the Salt Pits lies The Dead Aquifer, a maze of tunnels and caverns choked with saltwater so thick even armored dwarves float in it. this labyrinth of tight, salt-damned tunnels is rich in minerals, but the same conditions make it aggravating to mine in and breeding ground for some of the more annoying insects of Hoxxes, and the upside down forest of stalagtites on the ceiling wait for a stray shot to come down and spear anything hapless enough to be found under them.
Finally, the depths of the Sandblasted Corridors holds the Sandstorm Sea, an underground desert infamous for spawning subterranean cyclones that can throw a dwarf 500 meters. Worse, the sandy surface of the sea is broken only by islands of rock that have yet to yield to the callous winds and the massive mineral deposits of the realm are warded by hordes of sandworms and quicksand that will swallow a dwarf whole.

"Titans of Hoxxes"
It's common knowledge that Glyphid Dreadnaughts are merely an interrupted stage between the Glyphid Praetorians and something even worse. Unfortunately, as deep rock's mining operations reach deeper and deeper regions of the planet, we've been forced to acknowledge the existence of organisms, and offer bounties. Be aware, the survival rates of such attempts have an inverse relationship to the rewards of such a mission. Bring us their heads boys, and I'll buy you a round myself!
Effectively boss raids, Titan Hunts involve a team of dwarves specifically attempting to find and kill one of the titan-class life forms of the planet and escape with trophies of their success.

Glyphid Titans are the true result of a Glyphid Dreadnaught's incubation. These massive insects are larger than a drop pod and have carved caverns out of the planet with their own claws. Be careful, and remember to disable their legs. That will slow these monsters down long enough to maintain distance. Often, they will deliberately attempt to drag the ceiling down on their enemies, or trap them in the furrows in the ground formed by it's massive forelegs.
Glyphid Broodmothers are the female equivalent of the Glyphid Titan, infamous for spawning an unending tide of Glyphid Warriors to protect itself. use the terrain to delay their approach and kill it before it can spawn too many!
The Deep Wurm roams the sandblasted corridors, swimming through the sand quickly enough to scatter dwarves merely by passing by them. It hunts by emulating quicksand pits and dragging entire glyphid praetorians to an untimely demise, but fortunately Dwarves can give it indigestion with their picks.
The Tumor is the source of the wall eyes and other macabre life spread across the radioactive exclusion zone. Always watching always hungry, this horrible thing is connected to all the mutated life in it's reach and can swallow it's prey with mouths that travel along the walls like sharks if you don't keep moving. Blind it's eyes and rip out this abomination's heart!

The Glass Predator commands the crystalline caverns, it's crystal-coated body somehow adapted to be capable of becoming all but invisible to the naked eye, and worse it's tongue- much like that of a cave leech- is constantly used to separate one of it's prey from the pack and slaughter it before others can interfere. Don't let it eat the crystals, or it will grow it's chameleonic skin back and heal as well!
The Fog Demon is shrouded with a toxic mist like that of a dying praetorian, and it's fast. find high ground when it spreads it's fumes or die choking!

Do a Metal, Deep Rock Galactic-themed cover of Diggy Diggy Hole? with the voice actors of the characters if possible?

A new "Ship Graveyard" Region, which is literally just a mass of crashed ships and stuff like wrecked drop pods. The main uniqueness of this region is that deposites are actually often found in large chunks, in cargo bay crates and the like. Also, there's an inordinate amount of twisted metal corridors taht are exceedingly difficult to mine, forcing players to navigate the maze rather than just drill through their problems, and while there is more illumination (some of the lights in the wrecks are on) there are also scattered hazards like a leaking reactor's radiation field, electrical discharges, and liquid nitrogen spills at random in the corridors. However, there might also be scattered ammo caches in regions of the ship the resupply pods can't burrow to.

Enemies that generate an EMP burst, momentarily disabling shields and knocking out headlamps. Will not effect flares?

"Photovore" enemy that is drawn to sources of light and actually consumes it, making the area darker. Can sceam and draw weak swarms if not killed before they eat enough light? Will charge into flames thinking it to be food and hurt itself as a result. Turn off headlamps or be attacked by the extremely mobile creature. Toss a flare to lure it into your guns and kill it easily. Will not attack a dwarf if they are not using their headlamp or potentially carrying an light source, like the flamer with it's pilot light.

Engineer Platform Gun "Hose Mode": Increase total ammo in platform gun. Platforms now consume more ammo when shot. Hose mode fires a stream of foam that consumes ammo per tick. Use stream to make pillars for platforms in mid air or use foam to close off openings such as ice and sand vents or barricade openings in walls. If foam travels too far without hitting a surface it dissipates and is wasted unlike the platform function. Perhaps could also be used on enemies for a slowing effect, but doesn't do damage.

Buyable "premium insurance" that increases the amount retained after a failed mission. The insurance's exact price can be effected by how many times your dwarf has gone down, as listed in the med bay... maybe make it a ratio of successful missions vs combat downs? This insurance would last until a mission is failed and payout occurs.

Multi-target "marker grenades" or the ability to tag multiple objects/enemies/deposits at a time with the marker tool. Logically, this will give scouts a bit more usefulness on missions as their mobility lets them mark things in advance for their teammates and remember the location of something you skipped earlier and want to go back for.
Perhaps limit the number of tags a player can place at a time, and have them also marked with a priority grade, suxh that Bosco in solo ops will finish one then jump to the next?

Gunner - Shield Generator: Increase the time it takes for the gunners shield to regenerate between uses (preventing it from being spammed during longer fights), but remove the need for ammo. I've seen people saying that the shield generator was too strong in the past. While I haven't seen this first hand I don't want this to cause it to become as such once again. Please share your thoughts. I've always just wondered why the shield generator has uses when it returns to the gunner on expiration.

Iv'e been loving the game and all the updates so far have been great. Not a single bad thing has been added or changed that I remember and Ghost Ship Games seem like they're loving this game like it's their child. Defenetly going to buy the founders pack when I can. That being said...

Things I would like to see added-
Less linear missions, maybe add some secret, loot filled caves, not indicated by dirt that can only be found by map, which would give the map another use other than telling you how to get through dirt. Molly should be indicated on the map like teamates are.

I think having a trap cave would be fun where if you go inside you get ambushed by grunts or exploders.

You can get stuck behind the green globe on the base ship where you need to join a friend or restart deep rock to get unstuck. it's been this way for a long time.

Personally, I feel many of the perks are lacking and are rarely worth a slot in any loadout. most just arent all that impactful.

ok, heres the scenario: a deadly plague is infecting a region, its going out of control, every bug is getting violently infected with severe and varying symptoms. Every hostile bug gets more aggresive with liquid oozing out of their mouths, tumouros growths that spit the disiese onwards. every neutral bug becomes weak, loot bugs starve and become anorexic with a much more ghoulish skin tone and dont pop minerals anymore. this cave becomes a liability to the corporation as it poses a threat to the dwarven miners aswell as the whole planets ecosystem.

1: end-game 'endless' mode. Players are free to roam a certain area and collect as many resources as they can.
2: takes place on planet surface, maybe with some caves extending down slightly.

I have an idea for a new class, like some kind of Survivalist Medic or something along the lines of that. His specialties would be the ability to revive teammates much faster than any of the other dwarves, or from a distance (maybe with a tool?), the ability to revive himself at least ONCE when downed, having extra health, having a grenade/grenades that provide useful buffs to yourself and teammates (health regen, damage reduction, etc.), and/or regenerating health after a certain amount of time after being damaged. Most of these are just broad ideas for the new class, not really suggesting that this class would be all of these at once, just a few thoughts and ideas that would make the class stand out from the others.

I'd suggest a replay system so we can make sweet mining videos without sacrificing an "out of view" dwarf. Or a simpler solution : a Camera grenade, that just shift the view from your dwarf to the camera after throwing/sticking it on the ground, so you can take some nice selfies or die-trying action shots ! Or just spy your mate in the toilets.
Could extend the camera thing by adding some assignment to take specific shots with the camera for the sake of Deep Rock Galactic's RnD department. Cuz science.

hey, can i point out the detonator is wayyy too strong on solo? like he can down you immediately and if you have to do the uplink for the mule mission you get fucked real fast. the moment he showed up, he downed me thrice with no real time for me to react. the mission is automatically foobar'd if this happens too. so i'm gonna go play something else for a bit, but fuck that was cheap. maybe don't nerf him but give the player significantly long invincibility frames? or at least 5+ revives. if he downed me 3 times sequentially he'll do it more.

yo i don't feel like the default pickaxe move cooldown is balanced. If you use it on accident or dont kill as many dudes with it as you want, you have to wait a minimum of 20 seconds (with the perk) to get it back. I think if it was lowered to 20 by default and down to 10 with the perk, that would be more balanced and make teh pick more fun to use. to make it REALLY fun, increase base cooldown to 15, and perk cooldown to 5. that last one is just a dream tho

The Abyss Bar offers drinks with exclusively positive effects on a timed rotation right? What if there were drinks that were always available that gave positive effects and were cheaper, BUT also gave a negative effect?

a replacement for the zipline for driller, instead of being a mainly horizontal zipline, you would use a launcher to project an anchor to the ceiling, which will then unfold, creating a vertical "elevator"

this could be used in zones like the dense biozone or the sandblasted, to help counter the high ceilings, allowing the team to work their way accross gaps and pits, without having to use multiple ziplines ranging all accross the pit, this system would simply be a more adapted way to move arround certain regions, and giving the gunner the option between vertical or horizontal movement

I was thinking of something similar to this vertical zipline in the form of a ladder for a new class that could be added. Any class would do, but It could be part of a melee class, and would still have ammo for his melee weapon of course, as well as at least one gun.

I think a melee class would add some variety to the classes. Weapons could include:

  1. A plasma axe or hammer that uses energy when swung.
  2. A pistol type weapon for backup. High damage but low fire rate so he can still take out Mactera.
    Support:
  3. Ladder that can be climbed both up and down.
  4. A sort of buff device that can give extra damage at the cost of move speed of extra move speed at the cost of damage. This would allow the class to deal more damage up close and assist in runs to the drop pod. The device would buff all dwarves in a certain radius, and the buff could last 30 seconds with a device cooldown of a minute. The buff could also be canceled with salute, and the reload button could toggle between the two buffs. Edit: I've realized that it would be quite difficult to implement a class that fits a different combat role than the current four, but if done right I think it would be sweet. rocknstone to support

A class focusing mainly on traps, possibly with a separate melee weapon from the pickaxe. One gun could fire corrosive or flammable substance that has a stacking flame/corrosion effect. If melee rewarded frame expertise. beyond the half step of space. That would be an okay point to start a melee system. imo.

Implementing a melee system could have some kind of berserk or combo feature, where killing enemies with melee in quick succession makes you take less damage, move faster, swing faster, deal more damage, something like that.
