they put so many additional voice lines in the game they arnt even in the patch notes 😄 i think they have a local friend who does all the voices and then just modulate them

We need custom-skinned barrels that we can buy on the ingame market, for use in "barrel football" (Basically just soccer, but with barrels). And of course an unlockable field to play it in.

I'd also like to suggest emblems/badges/pins/stickers that can be stuck to the Dwarf characters (and their weapons). These can just be little emojis that add a little bit of customization. Of course a barrel pin would be necessary, but it'd also be cool to have all the same emojis as this Discord already has, as well as one for each type of creature.

due to the close walls and rock formation, the camera would be a pain (buggin or just plain black most of the time), TPS camera or shoulder perspective are good for open environment and still tend to create more issues you have to solve like getting stuck or not in certain terrain / objects ^^

You guys should have a stronghold mode. Consisting of 2-6 people. Have concrete fortifications holding off waves. Between series of waves go out explore and gather supplies for upgrading , before next wave.

- Competitive mode (more loot, damage done etc)

Yeah, I feel they should be dangerous instead of annoying. In practice, all they do is stopping you from playing the game for a dozen seconds unless squadmates are nearby.
If you have a short time to free yourself, you can. If you fail, you need squadmates or you die.

Having corpses inflict damage sounds like it could be absolutely disastrous considering how bouncy and bizarre the physics engine can be.
I've been launched into the air like a catapult-stone as a result of touching corners at certain angles, and the thought of a big damage-inflicting corpse with those properties is...disturbing.

ooh, it'd be an interesting challenge if every now and then you got attacked swarm of spiked swarmers, who when dead will lie on the ground and slow you down somewhat, doing tiny bits of damage if you stay on them too long. kinda like they become little caltrops when they are dead 😄

I got nabbed by a cave leach last night in Solo and Bosco was being a selfish dick and didn't come save me.. top it off when I got to the leach itself there were like 5 swarmers all waiting for me and chewed me up super quick it was horrible. Bosco and I talked about it later.. we're good now.

just watched some gameplay walkthrough video, is it possible to turn off the health info and names for the monsters? I find it quite distracting, I prefer minimal HUD. Even the health/shiled info for dwarfs is too big in my opinion, would prefer something more sleek and readable, similar to what Overwatch has

need some hud optional stuff, like i think they need to enable the weapon hud by default so you always see it. A lot of new people dont realize they have other stuff.

i mean it's a game where survival comes into play and there may be times where you want to risk some of your HP for 'the greater good'
also a health bar is great feedback for how much damage you're taking from different sources, obviously 😼

It is a little silly, but there are some times when it really helps to have that information, like for the larger, more tanky enemies such as the dreadnaught and praetorians
Perhaps a different solution would be to not show a health bar unless it's less than full but not empty?
So if something dies in one hit, the health bar never shows up.

you don't even need to have HP info on bosses, all comes down to practice and experience, so you know how much damage you have already dealt so you can judge how much left it has, if feels more immersive really, to be lost in caves and fighting monsters with clean hud. all those info bars etc remind me it is a game, but without it I can really imagine I am a dwarf!
Honestly for me it's better for immersion that those health bars ARE there, because it's future high tech stuff and deep rock galactic has the best gear available. So having a HUD with all kinds of handy info makes it more believable.

so unless you're counting everyones bullets you are not keeping track of the bosses hp at all

@idle quartz it works, you can communicate and get used to the rhythm to be honest, you don't need hp bars, not everygame has it. Also there could be visual and sound clues
counting bullets for 4 players does not work, for one player sure you'll probably know how many clips a boss might take but when one guy is chucking detpacks and the scouts up close with a shotgun and engineer has two turrets that MIGHT be hitting it then its pointless. Other cues are fine, the dreadnought obviously has an armored shell that breaks off currently
The praetorian definitely benefits from having a healthbar, for the smaller bugs I wouldn't mind losing the bars

If you team kill repeatedly you should get dragged into an unskippable cutscene of HR reprimanding you

And it should be a quicktime event cutscene with a timer that resets when you fail to do the corresponding button so the offender has to pay attention to the reprimand and complete it to get back to the game.
Maybe throw some voice lines in game that are triggered by tk'ing that warn about being sent to HR if they keep it up so it's not just sprung on them

Hey what about level up cosmetics? Like you hit level 10 driller so you get like a special skin. so the players that play one class more than the others can show off how good they are as the class. Maybe even a different way like challenges instead of level ups to get these skins.
I'd prefer that, but currently cosmetics require credits, crafting materials, and account rank. I hope thats changed quickly :()

This is definitely not a dealbreaker, but it would be really great if cave-ins were possible. Right now DRG uses the minecraft model so you can have rocks just hovering in the air
gravity doesn't affect standalone rocks
also, when selecting upgrades, the currencies are not displayed
there's a little green "bullet" or something but it's not clear what that is
would be nice to show "45 <icon> isotopes" so you know what currency is needed

I feel like the driller flamer could do with more ammo capacity and/or a wider spread
It feels a little bit damp even as a solo weapon because it burns up the fuel pretty quickly compared to the overall mission duration
The thing with the flamethrower is that you don't seem to do more damage to the enemy if you keep spraying them after they're on fire.
So you're meant to set them on fire, wait for it to die out and set them back on fire again.

You can type, and yeah its first day so people will learn.
also stay closer to team and listen for audio cues. Dwarfs have dialogue for when they're grabbed. Can press X to yell for help

Is it possible to have push to talk be on default for people?
It would be nice to have a Medic Class, with a turret that heals shields over time, and his special weapon would be syringes that he/she uses to heal their comrades for a good amount of health in one go (33% maybe?) His/her main weapon could be a submachine gun and he/she could also throw medic pool grenades, that heals allies over time and damages enemies over time, using a stylish light armor with a red cross in it, I don't know. Just think we need a Medic Class because downing every 30 seconds made my legs feel like jelly Haha! Which reminds me of a (possible) passive ability like reviving downed allies faster, too 😄
Maybe add some extra weapon upgrades like tribarrel flamer and stuff for bonus damage, because it will add some meaty physical satisfaction to upgrading your gear
i gots an idea, probs already suggested but how about pets. they can be unlocked by finding a special egg. The egg would then sit in your little pregame bay pod and you need to feed it some mineral or something special u find in games over time until it hatches. Maybe it need different things every so often. then you have a pet that u hatched and raised yourself, how cool!
Since currently you can win any mission, there is no need for a medic. Changes to health/shield mechanics could make the role possible but they'd need balanced for solo as well, its very tricky!

@vague cedar yup, currently there is very limited pickaxe upgrades but we may see altnerative mining tools too. Keep in mind though that a lot of the game is based on "ammo conservation" so the pickexes ability to kill freely will always be quite limited
@split snow DWAAAAAARF you're doing it wrong! Just dab enemies in fire and let them burn 😃 re-apply when its out, swap to pistols often! It does fantastic armor-ignoring damage for its ammo capacity, and when you get sticky flames its even better

Yeah the DPS of holding it down is a bit low and the AoE leaves abit to be desired but you'll get the hang of it!

Are the detonator charges for both miner and gunner permanent, or will only one class have them in a later update? Perhaps swapping the charges for something else in either class would make the miner more viable.

Hello! got some playtime in and tested some of the mechanics.
On the forum, I noticed somebody was asking about why the X and Y inputs are separate.
I have to agree, being left over (likely) from console controls, while it may seem beneficial, it is only beneficial, and arguably beneficial on sticks.
Why is this an issue worth prioritizing? Because with a mouse, it's hard to hit targets that are moving quickly on a wall, (IE diagonally) and makes input feel like syrup.
Fallout 4 did the same thing.
Fairly easy to fix in UE4.
If you are curious to see it's usage, perhaps a "equal X and Y input" option with analytics on usage percentage would work.
If the intention was to limit snapshotting, I have my own opinions on modifying mouse aiming based on weapon type, since it causes inconsistency; which is the last thing you want with a mouse.
DayZ implemented a "weapon lag" system, but that has it's own share of problems.

Oh and also a skill tree for each class would be pretty cool, that way the game is more rewarding when you level up
Considering we can already hurt each other, I feel this game could maybe have an extra mode where two teams of miners go head to head in jolly competition where their goals directly conflict with each other.
Could even be an option on the mission select.
And, while something like this would probably be way down the line, allowing a player to join in as a sort of "invader" against the regular team would be interesting. Perhaps some sort of goblin operative whose goal is to sabotage the mining operation, or a pesky kobold whose goal is to steal loot from the dwarves and escape, small things like that to shake up the day-to-day mining operation.
While you could have something like that be AI, maybe having player variants of that would just make it a little more dynamic.

Dear @spare kestrel I heard about this game today and have been checking it out, it looks like a ton of fun! I realise I'm pretty much a random off the internet at this point but I wanted to pass on one thing:
Coop multiplayer with more than 4 people is an incredibly sparse field right now. Please please consider allowing up to 8 players - Family & Friends gameplay is exactly what prompted me to buy 6 copies of Minecraft. Right now my group is planning another evening of fun and the only options on the table are Flatout 2, UT 2004, and possibly a modded copy of Borderlands 2 to hack in more players. (Yeah we pretty much played Minecraft, Terraria, Planetside, Factorio and Starbound to death already).
Consider this a vote for more players.. and a guaranteed sale from our group if it ever does happen 😉
Is there some way of reporting? cause theres too many griefers and trolls in the pub games
no way of reporting but if they're cheating then screens/evidence of it would be nice. Trolling is sadly unavoidable in a co-op game but if you're the host you can kick (or team kill them!)

i think people might have trouble at first, its an FPS but requires more than just fps skills, navigation and conservation will be learned and runs become much smoother

It would be nice to have the minneral/rock/gem/ stalagtight break apart when it si disconected form the ground. I have found it very frustrationg to eal with bits of a minable item floating in mid air. blcoking one's path as they try and tactivally retreat form a swarm of heavily armored poison spitters in a narrow hallway.

ya it would need to be coded into the game and features can't be made overnight. But a simple you need to be grounded to exist, similar to the buidling/collaps mechainica in fortnight. If someone destroys the one wall holding everyting up then that item should be destroyed from a realisum standpoint and because noone want to run into a sliver of wall floating at eye level while running away form a bug haord.

Suggestion: I've noticed the health bars on enemies lags a bit behind actually shooting them, consider making the bars show more accurate amounts of health immediantly after being shot
This is when an ally does damage to an enemy, when you shoot it then it updates to the enemies health

last time that was mentioned they said they have things in mind for new gadgets and weapons etc but are still thinking about how and what they should implement

the increased spark costs on the mixers interactive to drg is too much. i have been watching a few streamers and the channels with few viewers could not take advantage of the mixer's interactive because no one in chat had enough spark to spawn a praetorian or dreadnaut.

One addition i'd like to see is a tool to find mineral deposits, mission objectives and the like. Not something pinpoint but like a ground penetrating radar. Stick it on a wall and it'd highlight things like buried eggs, gold, or mineral veins. And it'd be less accurate the further away the object was.
Have a 'Prospector' dwarf that carries it as their support equipment, or something like that.
The difference in X and Y sens with a mouse is very noticable, and uncomfortable, it'd be really nice to see a way to adjust them seperately
Have bosco target the weak spots on dreadnaughts and praetorians. He was useless trying to complete that mission.

does getting extra loot give more exp and credits? if not, then that should be a thing i.e. getting double the quota doubles the reward
if you look at the end of mission results, the amount of materials mined overall gives you EXP
as well as amount of enemies killed overall
the number of gold deposited adds a multiplier to how much credits you get from the mission too

A dwarf with a jetpack. This dwarf would have its mobility ability be a jetpack with fuel. Weapons loadout could be some traps for crowd control and a laser beam weapon for precision combat.

I just think it would be interesting to have an area, maybe a new area that you can only access at a higher hazard level

So then maybe instead of locking a zone behind hazard level requirements, lock it behind player rank, much like how things currently are with the mission choices

When you're aiming to gather different amounts for different upgrades you want it takes a while to see what you need exactly
Then I thought, If you could, say, pin 3 blueprints to the upgrades menu where it shows your stash, but maybe on the left hand side instead. Then it could say 1. grappling gun cooldown requirements, 1,353/2,200cr (-847), enor pearl: 196/180 (+16), Bismor: 129/182 (-53). 2. light scouting suit shock absorbers requirements: 1,353/1,900cr (-547), umanite: 97/240 (-143), Croppa: 69/130 (-61). 3. etc etc.
with the positive and negative numbers being how much above or below your target you are for that resource
they could be in red and green like these
then under a line at the bottom of your 3 pinned blueprints have a total resource requirement sum for all 3 of the pinned blueprints, again with the amount you already have and then how much over or under you are for each resource next to it in green or red

but for me personally that would be very helpful so I can more easily decide which missions I should choose based on the resources I need for the upgrades I'm aiming for

So was talking to a friend on the Floodlamp debate - get you guys took it out because of Turtling, but he had an idea :
- Make the Floodlamps take damage from enemies.
- Make enemies target your floodlamp.
- Increase the gold it takes to create the floodlamp, because now it serves a dual purpose as a kind of "decoy".
Now you've made the happy medium for those of us that weren't exploiting the floodlamp. Those trying to turtle are going to have the thing destroyed and have to waste money. Those of us that didn't, can still use the floodlamp, and if it's destoryed because we didn't protect it, big deal.
Thoughts? yall think it would work?
Suggestion: A monster of some sort that could create a brood nexus, during swarms they morph into a cocoon and if not dealt with soon enough turn into a brood nexus
Could we get e function to destroy the zip line? i use them as guides and would love to be able to demolish old ones to guide my way back a bity easier before triggering molly

it would be dope if the engineer had the ability to put down razor wire to slow the enemies
and be able to call down an orbital strike
also one major thing that should happen, is if an entire party gets stuck on a room trying to find the compacted dirt when it is no where to be found after like 5-10 mins the mule will do a scan of the room to identify all possible entries, resources and enemies inbound
better yet, be able to upgrade the mule to move faster whoever the host is or just a team input such as all players upgrading their own thing and once all players are in the game it will apply depending on how many upgrades each player has for the mule
my party and I got stock on this massive room with a ceiling that was like 200m high and could not find the compacted dirt so we just killed ourselves and made another match
It's possible the compacted dirt was in another room, or was behind a rock wall covered with little clumps of dirt

Probably very bad RNG, but I'm putting this in here anyways. So I'm doing quick play (haven't figured out how to do solo, if I still want friends to possibly join? Secondary feedback, can you make your solo bot go away if friends show up?), and I'm in a cave...doing good. Survived 2 waves...still feel great. Getting lots of materials. Then all of a sudden a cave leech out of nowhere grabs me, and because I'm solo? Game over.
So feedback?

In theory BOSCO is supposed to help you if you press X to call for him
But his assistance is unreliable when it comes to leeches
@empty pumice - it's 5 to call it. with 80 Nitrate.
@near glacier - does that work even if he's not flying around? When I get off the drill in the very beginning I don't see him? (going to try in a minute again)
