Hi everyone, is it normal to have a huge fps boost when using the -disablemodding steam launch argument? Even when I have no mods installed at all? Never had this issue months ago. Getting drops as low as 50s on 144hz when before the lowest I'd see was 90s

Hi, Xbox user here, I recently purchased the supporter 2 upgrade, (I've had the supporter 1 dlc for a long time and as of 3 days ago was working just fine) and for some reason neither DLC's are showing ingame (besides the already equipped supporter 1 paintjobs). I've moved my game, uninstalled and reinstalled the DLC several times to no avail. I even tried restarting my console. Is this normal? Can I do anything to fix this, or should I wait?

Is there an issue with Bismor Spawn rates?
I'm consistently WAY lower in Bismor than anything else; and I know I'm not the only one.
Even when I intentionally farm Dense Biozone (which is almost always 'out of range') I get more umanite even though it's supposed to be 'scarce'.

bismor tends to yield less mineral per vein than other minerals and the dense biozone has weird spawn

Do more people have issues starting the game? it shows the skull screen on start up (steam version) and it crashes instantly after. Game was working for 1 and half day. The legacy version does work without issues.

What was the problem?
When I launch the game, it displays the first two loading screens, but crashes after the 'skull' loading screen.

Steam/PC solution:
Go to steamapps -> common -> Deep Rock Galatic -> FSD -> Saved -> SaveGames. Remove everything in this folder (back it up somewhere, then delete it from the game's folder).

For some reason my laptop starts to lag when playing depending on how long I’ve been playing. I can run the game with no lag on ultra but after a few minutes my frames start dropping. For example, before I went to go eat dinner I went afk in the spacerig with medium graphics and had solid 60fps, came back 30 mins later exactly where I was before and now its around 20-30 for some reason, I’ll admit that im not the best with computers but does anyone know how I can fix this? If this were my problem, I’d start by looking at laptop thermals. Most laptops can’t operate at peak performance nonstop, and as the chassis gets heat soaked the CPU/GPU could be throttling back. You could pick up a $20 laptop cooling pad as a test, or prop it up on something that provides good airflow under and around it.

Complete gut feeling, but it’s a lead you might want to follow.

(You could also objectively measure any potential throttling with the right software, but those specifics get beyond DRG help)

yes, but if steam doesn't display the recent players or if you are not friends with them, or if its aprivate account, you cant rejoin

there is no in-game option to rejoin afterwards, it just kicks you out, no "attempt to reconnect" button

Not sure what happened, but I joined the Haz 4 Elimination mission the other day. We started killing our first dreadnought and after killing him, I received both Pest Control (Participate in killing two Dreadnoughts within five minutes on Hazard Level 3 or higher.) and Just Another Bug Hunt (Participate in killing two Dreadnoughts within 30 seconds on Hazard Level 3 or higher.) achievements even though I did not meet the requirements for either of those (we spent more than 2 minutes killing both dreadnoughts each and when I joined, the mission was at least 12 minutes in). Suffice to say, I was very confused.

Even though you're below the requirement, the MX150 should still be able to run the game. What's most likely happening is the game is trying to use the UHD 620

In the wardrobe, I have a "new item" indicator on the right arrow, but only when engineer is displayed. There's no new item on any slot for any of my dwarves, and this has persisted across a few game restarts.

Theres a bug in playstation atleast, where after completing a forge mastery youll be stuck in the menu and pushing circle will only refresh the menu basically. Also theres a bug where you can get stuck inbetween the ladder upto the drop ship and the barrel with the balloons. If you stand on the barrel and kick the balloons in some way youll be pushed into the crevice between all that, where you wont be able to jump out and other dwarves wont be able to help either. Turning grav off does nothing aswell

Hi, I bought the game a few weeks ago and it was fine at first. But recently I started having the following problems: at some point the FPS drops from 120 to 50, sometimes even 20-30. I have nvidia RTX2060 so it should be fine. The FPS then sometimes randomly jumps back to 120 and stays there for a few minutes before the drop happens again. Anyone experience anything similar?

I came across a bug and had to abort, so I decided to drop by here to bring it up, but the apparent 10 minute time requirement prior to being able to post happened to give me time to er... check for any prior instances of this... Apparently there are, so I guess I'll just get to the point, then.

Got downed by a Hiveguard, popped a SYIH since it's abdomen was exposed at such time, got revived by Bosco (I tend to play solo by personal preference), and weeeeeellllll... I proceeded to have the unsettling ability to use it as a trampoline with no repercussions nor reactions from it like so:

For further clarification, it would not move, it would not react to anything I tried (one of the first things I tried was power attack to said abdomen... cause i wasn't sure of where else to hit it at the time, followed by dropping a supply pod on it)... Nothing worked. Like, I even tried the second dreadnought in the level...

It's really variable. Can be like 30 min and then it's fine again for 5 and then it happens again.

If it is a laptop then it could be a throttling issue. Your laptop overheats to a point where the system decides to dial down the performance so the temperatures can stabilize. Then it allows it again to go full power, overheat, decrease performance. Lather, rinse, repeat. You should have a loot at your system temperatures or turn down the game detail to avoid overheating, if that is the cause.

it should ask to start drg, to start it in dx12, to start it in dx11 or to start it in safe mode

I have a major problem with me game
I've been getting weird visual glitches in the hub area, mainly being when you leave the room when you spawn in, the game freaks out and starts flashing and such, and my framerate dips to 8-14fps. I tried everything to try and fix it. e.g. Disabling master E.Q., updating my drivers, reinstalling my game (trying for the 2nd time as of writing), so on and so fourth.
I do in fact run the game on a potato pc, but during the tutorial mission I'd get at least get 25 fps on medium settings, with no visual glitches. If someone can help me out, it'd be such a big help since I have no idea what to do.

although I'd also like to mention, during the tutorial mission when I pulled up the menu it'd also dip to like 8 fps

i have a gaming laptop (yuck), ryzen 7 4800h and a gtx1660ti
since it's a gaming laptop, obviously the temperatures will ramp up quite high
but the problem is, i play various games, some triple-a ones even like i don't know, cyberpunk, rdr2, some cpu intensive games like minecraft and i don't run into this issue, but
whenever i play drg, my temperatures usually average out at 100-110 degrees, would post a screenshot but i don't have embed perms.
is there anything i could try to solve the issue? since honestly i'm kinda "afraid" of playing the game, considering my laptop gets so hot so quick lol

i clean it regularly once every month, i don't have any bloatware, no viruses, nothing that could take up my cpu resources (unless you count vanguard i guess, though idk if that's of any significance) :/

Hi, me and my friend have been playing drg for around 200 hrs now on pc. We have always invited eachother thru steam and it has always worked. We changed nothing and it doesn't work anymore, whenever we invite eachother and the other tries to join it says "Multiplayer session ended". This has been happening for a week now. The icon doesn't mean you can play any mission of salvage operation. It means that there is currently one mission on the map that will progress your assignment, and that mission is a salvage operation.

I think you're gonna need to do a clean driver install.

This is a GPU related crash so it's either one of those :

• the game is trying to use an integrated, much less powerful, GPU
• the driver install got corrupted and need a clean install
• the overclocking is causing issues
• the voltage is causing issues
• your computer is having hardware issues (most likely the GPU got damaged, but could be something else too)

I'm not an expert and might be missing some things but those are the most likely problems

Her laptop had to be moved from the table for a moment, and the game is stored on an external ssd drive, which had to be plugged out. We were cautious about quitting the game first and then removing it, and yet the progress is still lost

I am having an issue where I joined the discord day before yesterday - I mean obviously I am writing in this discord right now - but the "Join the Union" panel in the rig does no longer register that I have joined... it worked fine but now I don't really know what to do. Has anybody had a bug where when a session is ended, your game "freezes"? It's not really a freeze, the game is still running, but I can't do anything.

Bug just started the past few days, already tried reinstalling.

so all my 21hrs of progress got reset, and i looked for a back up file in my saves folder, all i have is from today, but i do have a FSD backup file from the logs folder ,from yesterday. Is there anyway to get my progress back from this?

yes but it didnt work unfortunatly and my GPU works just fine on other games. i only have issues with one other game but i dont think its related since the drg crash come only at the loadinggate

I myself did not see how it happened, but someone managed to connect the pipe twice and of course it doesn`t work, we could not fix the capsule, tried to break the pipe, no luck, tried to dig down the capsule, the pipe just came off

Is this considered a bug? at the very least is HORRIBLE ux, we were doing a crystal mission and had searched every little cranny except this pretty much disconnected cave which was nearly impossible to find.

1: Thin wall but a thin and short hole in the middle of a tall wall, with no compacted dirt. it was smaller than a dwarf in both width and height, took 15 min to find it. the only thing that caused it to be found was a small spec on the map (1), It would not have been a candidate for digging unless we were 15 minutes desperate.
2: thick solid wall, properly closed

You can just dig through the terrain without compacted dirt. That is just an indicator as to where you should usually advance, but if you look at the map and see another area, you can just drill/dig to it.

It's point extraction, so a seemingly separated cave is normal. Compacted dirt does not spawn in that mission, as far as I know.
