Because the game does not use the steam cloud to synchronize saves. It’s an internal server run by GSG.

Hey guys I hope anyone can help me with a problem i have in deep rock on console.
So everytime my friend and i try to join and play together past 6.00pm the connection is interrupted.
We are on german servers and both ps5 players, hope anyone know what to do.
(We have already uninstalled and reinstalled the game, so ass the router restarted and nothing changed)

hello, i dont know if its a game problom or my own pcs problom but when leaving my docs on the main station, the lights spas out and go everywhere and only does it if i look at that direction, the rest of the game is fine, but its one part of the station that likes to hurt my eyes, but also when on seiten missions i have the same problems where lights go everywere and block my vision making me unable to see, if some one could help me with this or tell me whats going on i would like that, thank you

hi i bought the game yesterday and it is not launching (i played the game in gamepass for a while). i tried everything, restarted, verified files, windows updated, graphics card updated, updated directx, updated c++ redistrubitor, backup and reinstall the game, deleted steam cache, deleted games .exe file and .dll file etc redownloaded them, gave administiration and tried compability with win8 etc nothing changes :/ anyone has an idea to solve this?

I get that same error too and the only fix somehow is me deleting gameusersetting.ini in the game files everytime before starting then adjust my graphic later every single time

It almost seems like even good GPUs need to run the game at low settings, which seems weird to me. I think the game is iffy and makes UE think the GPU hangs because it's taking however long, regardless of what TdrDelay is set to

[FIXED] - Only thing I could find on google was a steam forum message from the game dev saying "to try manually installing the redis package. You can find it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Deep Rock Galactic\Engine\Extras\Redist\en-us" which didn't work for me.
What worked and what I should have probably done before asking.... is verifying games file integrity trough steam game properties... Easy fix which honestly should be at the top of the list of troubleshooting 😄

got a new pc, moved my games to a hard drive, steam didn't recognise them (despite using steam to move them), so I moved them manually. did it wrong but before I did it right, I launched deep rock and it asked me to install those redistributables which got stuck and I had to cancel
now deep rock crashes halfway through the coffee stain studios intro every time I open the game. I've tried:
verifying integrity of game files
reinstalling the game
finding the redistributables in the steam directory and updating them
finding directx in the steam directory and updating it
it's still crashing there and sometimes freezing my pc, does anyone know what I'm not doing?

encountered a bug where i could not get onto the drop pod to leave the mission, the drop pod ramp was placed over a cliff and was not reachable.

this is a clip of the tail end of the mission, showing the ramp being too far off the ground, and i could not get around the doors to the ramp

i had five minutes to get to the drop pod, one minute was spent getting to it, the last four were spent trying to simply get on.

is this a common occurrence? i was playing as a driller, a playstyle that doesn't come with a grappling hook, and the ledge was too small for me to walk along it to safety

the door geometry would simply push me off and cause me to fall to the depths below.

perhaps a larger ledge for players who don't have a grappling hook, platform gun, zipline gun, might come in handy, or disabling the doors collision when they are in the open position.

every other mission ive been on up to this point was great, and there was never a real moment where the game screeched to a halt like this.

Hey can I get some help? I bought the game a bit ago, finally promoted a dwarf, but I can't access the deep dives. I keep getting a prompt saying I've got no internet or my fire wall is blocking it. Well I turned off the fire wall, and I was in an active discord call online so internet was fine, still won't let me in.

I checked my system clock, it's set to automatic, I reinstalled the game, I've verified file integrity, cleared the download catche on steam, nothing seems to work

Also a maybe related side note but my game does not seem to be in the christmas event at all. I have no decorations, no elves appear, nothing. But when I jump into a friends lobby their game is all full of holiday cheer. Not sure if the two issues are related but I'd love to get this all sorted out if possible

I got my computer repaired a while back, and as soon as I got it back I was suddenly blocked from a few online games. Namely both Elden Ring and Death Loop suddenly refused to let me play, but wouldn't give me a reason why. I had assumed from research that maybe I had been given a bunked motherboard that the Anticheat software didn't like.

Is it possible then that whatever is causing this weird time to show up in DRG might also be what's blocking me from those other games?

What causes these connection loses? this is the 2nd game in a row where I get to like 90% progress and then disconnect. This actually pisses me off. The latency seems good, it just happens out of nowhere

I haven't tested it but it looks like many servers are pinged when you join someone, the servers that don't respond don't get used, so one potential solution could be to block on firewall specific servers that are giving you trouble(if you can find them)

your save will be along the lines of [numbers]_player.sav

simply copy it into the same folder on your new pc and replace the save there

might need to disable cloud saves temporarily so it doesnt try to overwrite the old save

So turns out I reformatted the one drive that had the save on the old PC, so I found a save online that was 100 percent, copied those old save to another folder, only had the 100 percent save in the folder. It still started as if i was level 1. I reinstalled the game and tried my cloud saves, still level 1, I added the 100 percent save, still level 1. Could a Family Steam account mess up the save?

Did you rename the 100% save to match the numbers associated with your account?

If your OG save was 6457864326643_player.sav or whatever. Make sure to rename the new save to that as well

Just noticed that the patch that fixed the minigun RoF exploit didn't "fully fix" said exploit. It no longer gives a free firerate boost, but the reduced heat gen from the exploit is still a thing.

I just recently encountered a crash of my game, It had started normally but was a black screen, when I had thought I fixed it one of my saves were deleted, most of my mods were invalid and after that time I have been dealing with minor issues like the game not running well and bugs ragdolling like in gmod where their bones fly across the map. hi, any time i launch the game when it starts initializing after the info screen, i immediately get a crash saying EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION, ive tried uninstalling an reinstalling, but that doesnt seem to work, i found a thread on reddit with a couple suggestions that ive tried, but the ones ive tried dont work, and the last suggestion i have yet to try is to go into my bios and turn off ram boosting, which really isnt something i want to do, i would provide a screenshot but i dont seem to have that availability, im pretty new here too. if someone could point me in the direction of a possible solution id be extremely grateful

for me the game data goes through steam servers, I have been analyzing packets and it seems that it happens on peak times and more often with specific steam servers(they just stop sending data while at the same time other services and other steam servers don't fail), I'll soon test to block bad servers with firewall and see how that goes. Still my guess is that it will be different servers that cause the issues for ppl in different areas or with different ISP.
You could also try the "Connection lost/High Ping/Lag since Season 02." thread on steam ( https://steamcommunity.com/app/548430/discussions/1/3476234160869580565/ ), but I don't think they have officially said anything

-disable or enable "options->audio->disable master eq" and restart the game
-sometimes the latest official (motherboard or sound card manufacturer) but older driver is better than the newest generic/windows update driver
-try directx installer just in case: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=35
-try disabling enhancements or spatial sound on your playback device, windows+R, Open: mmsys.cpl
double click the active device and you should see Enhancements(sometimes not present) and Spatial Sound tab

hello! ever since i've started the game i've been having issues with my mouse clicks not registering consistantly
sometimes i click several times and i nothing happens, and sometimes i stop clicking and it acts as if it was still held

does anyone know how i can fix this issue? this also happens in non-modded DRG, so i've already ruled that out
i am on a 1440p screen at max settings on windows 10 if that helps

Steam cloud is not used to sync save files. The issue is on your end with write permissions.

Hey, just joined the server! Been playing the game for a few days now and I seem to get weird red stripes in some missions all across my screen. It doesn't only happen when I'm moving but also when my screen is completely stationary. Does anyone know how to fix this? Is this normal? This was after a mission on DRG, high graphics. My Core #3 always gets hotter than the rest. Does the same on medium graphics. The CPU runs regularly around 60-65°C, but it’s peaks higher.

Also my game has stuttering/frame rate drops when initially using push-to-talk. If this is the wrong channel I apologize.

Stutter can be caused by throttling. Maybe put some fresh paste on there, and make sure your fans aren't clogged with dust

I played deep rock galactic for 358 hours when it released and got 100% achievements, so i skipped testing with a 3080, but back then 2080 was fine, i sold 3080, and got a rx 6600 tested in the main spaceship house area 95% gpu usage 160fps, then got a 7900 xtx 61% gpu usage 130fps, then swapped to a 4080 41% gpu usage 200fps, there is a game engine performance issue with newer cards. Can you communicate and optimize with nvidia/amd?

Been having a very consistent bug-- every 30 seconds to a minute I get a connection lag spike for about 5 seconds. Basically everything starts moving in one direction and I can't affect anything in game for that time. My internet works fine for every other game, I have verified game files and no mods currently installed. But its rendered the game pretty unplayable as I constantly get killed because of it.

the way i'm forcing it is blocking the problematic servers via firewall, steam/the game see no response after pinging them so they don't get used. I only have been able to collect data for a couple games like this but so far it works.
Right now I'm fixing/improving the analyzer to be more accurate and in the future perhaps host it online(pure client side js) so ppl can analyze their own packet information captures and find out which servers are failing for them

I have promoted 2 dwarfs for 1st time and the others are waiting to complete the questlines for the first promotion too. I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but just recently, my friends and I have been having trouble with the game. Whoever the host is does not experience it, but the other participants' games will "freeze" where they can still move around and everything but nothing will update, kind of like packet loss. Then, they will unfreeze and everything will go back to where it was when it froze. Anybody know what this is and how to fix it?

has anyone experienced a bug where a player would join your lobby but was stuck inside the drill part of their personal drop pod? i had this happen 2 or 4 times already and it's just sad because as far as i know the only way to actually get them out is to place a zipline nearby, which they grab onto to get out of the mini-pod's drill
this is a pretty bad one because unless you have a gunner to place the zipline the player is unable to get out of the mini pod and have to leave the mission, recently we tried to down such teammate to see if that would get them out once revived but they took no damage (even from a driller's TWO c4s)
sorry the screenshot was taken right as the player left but they were a scout, and their feet were inside the pod, they couldn't move at all and had to leave

We just abandoned a mission that had a Bet C above the mining rig that was dug extremely deep into the floor, with an Omen Exterminator all the way at the highest point.

We got so fed up with it because a meteor decided to drop and activate BET-C anyway.

Not sure if this has been reported before, but I've had a somewhat inconvenient glitch with Engineer's LOK-1 rifle where the explosive rounds overclock would always explode 3 feet in front of me, even though the lock-on has caught something much, much further away. What's even weirder still was that the bullets that were firing in lock-on mode would seemingly go towards extremely weird directions, into ceilings and walls... almost as if the bullets are actively U-turning away from the lock-on location.

Long story short, LOK-1's smart aiming malfunctioned, and chemical rounds would always explode in front of me no matter what it was locked onto, and strangely enough the explosions don't even do any damage either, despite attacking at point blank distance. Ping-related glitch with the LOK-1, perhaps? Normal fire still works, so the last mission was still completed, albeit with minor issues with the weapon.

I'm having a very weird issue where whenever I open the game it will open on my second (vertical) monitor.

I'm able to use Win+Shift+Arrow to change which monitor I want it on of course, but since it initially opens on my second one the game will use a flipped resolution and be blurry/scaled incorrectly.

I was able to temporarily get around this issue by making my second monitor landscape orientation in windows settings, opening it, and swapping to primary monitor. However at that point my mouse will slide off of the game to my second monitor, and will click around on any open applications there. That's not to mention strangely low FPS when this happens as well, something that was definitely not an issue before.

usually drg runs a little choppy but it's playable, my PC isn't the best - but, and I've tried this twice and it doesn't happen anywhere else, whenever I try to run a hollow bough mission the game is so laggy it's basically unplayable

it may be due to the particles or size of the biome, i believe you can turn down some of it in the game settings but there are mods to entirely remove particles and other things that may cause performance issues

Just had an issue where i completed all the Breach Cutter missions earlier, didn't have enough Jadiz to buy it, started/failed a high-level mission, and now the weapon is no longer available for purchase, having reverted to "Unlock weapon at assignment board". However, the mission is no longer in the assignment board either.

Bought a brand new ps5. Trying to boot DRG and I crash on home screen. If I accept an invite I can get into the lobby but I crash after character select. All this is after I restored a save file and played 2 or 3 missions with a friend. Now I can't get the game to boot even after a reinstall

Well I fixed it. Uploaded my ps4 save to cloud. I deleted all saves. Ps5 save and transfered ps4 save off my ps5. Then re-uploaded my cloud save. So far so good.

Hey miners, i've been playing the game a few month and it was crashing sometimes (like 1 out of 25 game). But recently it's been crashing almost every mission, giving the Exception_access_violation code. (im playing on pc).
i've been trying some stuff like changing graphic card drivers, using different kind of directX, scanning for virus and system error ect....

Hello miners, I found a bug.

Mission Type: salvage operation.

When I discovered broken drop pod, Nemesis appeared. We were fighting while running around drop pod in circles. At some point it managed to grab me. Nemesis' hand pierced drop pod and dragged me through it. I spent some seconds being stuck in drop pod's "wall", then drop pod began going up and I was thrown away from it. Then my mission suddenly ended as failed one, but on the summary screen my dwarf was behaving like if it was a successful mission.

Seems like my appearance in drop pod triggered the end of the mission, though I didn't execute triangulation and refueling.

hello , i've been having issues connecting to other people , even those on my friend list , i keep getting the message Multiplayer session ended
got the game around a week ago , everything was ok for the first couple days , now i cant connect to any online games , solo works fine and purchasing items works too.
so far i've tried to :

  • reinstall the game
    -reinstall steam
    -allow DRG through my firewall (it was already allowed , i even disabled it and tried to make sure it wasnt related to it)
    -do a DNS flush
    -try connecting with a vpn
    UPDATE : I think i've found the solution by digging through a couple pages of discord messages , this seemed to have fixed my issues , going to put this here incase anyone else is having the same problem

  • Online on both Steam and Discord and make sure you're not invisible (thx to Freemysoul !)
  • Make sure the discord server isn't muted (thx to Chindian for this one !)
  • You can try using the browser instead of the app (or the other way around)
  • You can also try having steam and discord running on administrator mode (thx to Marcos for this one !)

- keep in mind : the bot is half-broken, so it's only working when it wants to

  • If you just have trouble getting the interacting prompt for the terminal, there's another one in the medbay that should work fine.

Not entirely sure if this is considered a bug, but you can dig out on top of the map. Doing so nets a high chance of you being launched 2.5 kilometers before being deleted from the game entirely. This bug only effects people trying to dig out on top of the map, so it doesn't really effect regular gameplay.

All multiplayer functionality is broken for me. Can't load games from server list, weekly missions are unavailable, hosted public games are permanently empty and nobody ever joins and Deep Dives can't even be accessed.
I've tried every fix I could think of or find online. It isn't my internet, firewall or antivirus, verifying/reinstalling does nothing, launching as administrator doesn't work, I'm not even able to make a new save to test that, disabling hardware overclocks changed nothing and drivers are updated. The one or two references to this sort of problem I've found online were complete dead ends with no solutions ever being posed.
The game worked fine back in October but suddenly stopped working when I tried to play it back on the 7th, and has been unplayable since then. I have had no changes in internet, hardware or software since then except for driver updates, and I haven't ever had any connection problems with any other games I've played on this computer.

With both ammo mods you should get 21 ammo in reserve with 1 loaded on rj250 but you get 20 in reserve with 1 loaded. But for example with fatboy you get 5 shells in reserve with 1 loaded with both ammo mods. Is this a bug or intended.

So I was just playing a game that was unfortunately very laggy. like three seconds rubber banding bad, and fairly regularly. we were on the escape and for some reason as driller was digging the tunnel - purely on my end - the tunnel was not dug. It was like he teleported further and left solid rock behind him. I had to dig my way through, thankfully with some cover fire from the team, but that was weird.

DRG deleted all of my mods with after I have had 2 crashes when launching the game with mods. Does it do any backups when deleting the mods? Or are the mods and their settings gone forever?

It uninstalled your mods after two crashes because one of the mods you have installed crashed the game. If you reload the spacerig (and are in by yourself in spacerig) you should be able to re-install them.
But you will need to go through the list to find what mods are crashing. As for mod settings - it depends on the mod - some mods have make savefiles where settings are saved, those the game does not uninstall.
In short - the mods are not gone forever but their setting might be.

You are able to do what you would prefer - Next time the game crashes after an update, instead of attempting to launch the game again > go to mod.io in your internet browser > log in > unsubscribe from the mods you suspect are causing the crash > go to C:\Users\Public\mod.io folder on your PC and find and delete the mods there as well.

The game isn't able to open the folder for you or give you any options the moment it crashes - because it isn't running at that point. That kind of functionality would require we made a custom launcher for the game, which could be something we might do in the future - but isn't something that is in the pipeline atm.

Yeah, it's super bad, on client if you try to fast shield when you need it, you swap back to the weapon before you swapped to the shield. Takes about 0.5-0.6 seconds to throw now.

Anyone experiencing crashing after the update should ensure they DO NOT have Combined Resources. The developer of Brighter Objects has already fixed the conflict but Combined Resources has not been, and was directly causing the crash on its own in my case

So I've been having a problem that causes my game to freeze then crash when ever I or some one else begins to clean lithophage, even if I stay away, any idea how to fix this problem?

Just a tester with thousands of hours in the game never encountered a bug like that before.
The only that comes to mind is that someone was modding the game in a way that caused this interaction. If it was unmodded then it needs to be looked in a bit more.

It's kinda not though, right? Steam connection servers are often (always, by default?) used for proxying between DRG client and DRG host, it's only strictly peer-to-peer (network connections directly from client to host's public IP address) if the stars align. I assume this is also why DRG QA staff has recommended editing the Steam network config to always permit direct connections to the player's public IP, to bypass Steam connection proxies.

I've been troubleshooting similar network issues recently that appear to be Steam connection server related, after 1300 hours of packet-perfect play

all games i play are close, so i usually never have games over 100 ping, funny thing is, when I was gaming over hotspot I never had this issue, but randomly now I have "actual" internet, randomly started getting issues of stuttering, I'm not tech savvy so idk what specs or programs I need to turn off/on.

Hey folks, trying to determine whether I have an issue with my mouse, or if there is an issue with the driller. When I use the drills, I click and hold left mouse button, however like 60% of the time, the driller drills for like .5 seconds, then drops his hands down, and I have to click the LMB again. This can happen like, 10 times in a row. I'm wondering if there LMB on my mouse is defective, but I don't notice this issue on other classes or other games.

hi, I was trying to find if someone reported it already and I'm not sure if it's a bug or the wiki is not updated but here it goes:
I was running Deep Dive as Driller, Cryo Cannon with Ice Spear OC. on the fandom page (https://deeprockgalactic.fandom.com/wiki/Cryo_Cannon) it says that:
It uses up to 50 fuel to fire the projectile. If you don’t have enough total fuel available in the ammo pool, it uses all the fuel available and the damage for both components of the projectile will scale down linearly with the amount of fuel that was used.
however, I had a situation where I was left with 31 ammo and I couldn't shoot the spear with it. the description in the wiki leads me to believe that even if I don't have the required 50 I can still shoot the spear, albeit for less dmg. is this a bug, is the wiki not updated, or am I just too drunk from all these oily oafs to understand how it works?

That issue has been around for a long time, and I've been dying to get official dev eyes on it, because it's very disruptive (even though it's not critical).

Since you're constantly unable to join, maybe try creating a Haz 1 + Length 1 solo game & finishing it. I feel like that's helped solve it for me in the past, but I dunno if just coincidence or it actually works. You'd be the first person I've talked to that would be trying it out (since I didn't know about DRG Discord until just now).

If you finish a solo game & are then able to join servers, then it seems that finishing a game might flush some bad settings/config/whatever somewhere. And if it doesn't work, then I'm out of ideas & feel your pain, cuz that's happened to me many times before.

Oh also, make sure DRG has been updated to the latest version before trying to play. I've wondered if maybe the issue occurs more after a hotfix or update is released, and there's a discrepancy between what a game server is running & what you're running.

I have the mouse sensitivity set to 12.5, but I've noticed today that it would occasionally feel less sensitive until I went back into the settings and reset it to 12.5.
