Here is a wild idea that has worked before. Try taking your GPU out, cleaning the contacts and then refitting it.

I had friends who had GPU issues due to bad contacts before.

Especially since it is only DRG. It might be some Unreal engine dependency that might cause an issue for you, for some reason.

How come the Shaped Shells bug never got fixed? Im unsure if its Deep Dive Specific but missions 2 and 3 of the deep dive always take my crosshairs back to the normal version instead of the OC version. I have an issue in which sometimes I'll boot up the game and it runs flawlessly for hours at a time without a single hitch, but on other days it just runs okay with periodic heavy stuttering that can last up to 5 seconds and makes it unplayable. I don't know what causes this, but it's strange because it doesn't seem to be triggered by anything in particular, it just decides to run perfectly on some days and it runs poorly on other days. My computer meets the recommended specs and the issue seems to be unique to this game. I always play on multiplayer, with low settings. Any advice?

alternatively : If you have an NVIDIA graphics processor, then open up Nvidia Control Panel and click on Manage 3D settings. Go to program settings, and here you will see a list of all the applications you have on your system. Look for the Deep Rock Galactica application and select it. After that, under step 1, choose the Non-Integrated GPU option. Click on apply and save the changes. Close the Nvidia control panel and then try rerunning the game.

I play on Win10, and when the screen appears to tell you that you've been kicked I only have a split second to read it before it disappears again. So, I'm not getting any sort of steam/Discord game invites when I hit the + button in the right of the chat bar for some reason. Whenever I try to join a game through #lfg-steam it takes me to a solo lobby and doesn't put me in the lobby with the people I'm trying to join. At this point I'm extremely frustrated and I've been told to leave by several different groups who weren't willing to send me an invite directly via Steam.

I've tried everything under the sun at this point. I've tried restarting my game, restarting my PC, disbanding the team, checking if my Steam account is linked and verifying my game file's integrity and nothing has worked so far. I'm at a loss as to what to do next.

The game literally won't let me play with anyone unless I join via the server list.

To echo what Stiny said...there can be many reasons for stuttering, but a known common one is dynamic shader compilation.

For context - much of the fancy stuff that GPUs do is handled with little snippets of code called shaders, and the first time DRG uses a particular shader, it hangs for a split second while it compiles the shader into native GPU code. Once that shader is compiled, it's cached, so the next time it's needed you don't get the same performance hit.

There are certain things that can invalidate that cache and force the game to recompile all the shaders, which can cause pretty severe (but temporary) stuttering. Changing GPUs/upgrading drivers are a couple of common triggers, as is clearing the "DirectX Shader Cache" in the Windows Disk Cleanup utility.

In short - try continuing to play for a few sessions to see if your stuttering improves.

Note that some biomes use different shaders than other biomes, so if you play 5 missions in Magma Core and everything's smooth, and then you play a Glacial Strata mission for the first time, you may still get stuttering. Keep playing though, and things should improve.

I've just realised : you asked about this yesterday. Someone already answered you : your GPU is matching the GTX 460 barely but the requirement have probably gotten up by now. Not much we can probably do except telling you to run the lowest settings possible in dx11.

Ok, so I am kinda at a loss here: I've been playing DRG for a good year on my PC, I bought the Windows Store version. Never crashed, ran 100% smooth.

A few weeks back it started crashing out of the blue - I thought it might have been the Nvidia drivers, but I rolled back to a version I am certain that worked, didn't affect the crashing though. Not much with regards to error messages, either.

I advise you go to your GPU's manufacturer website and DL the latest driver and install it instead. If that doesn't work, go the previous one, instead of an old version (which might have worked in the past but doesn't now).

It's possible it could be from a conflict between Windows Firewall and the fsd-wingdk-shipping.exe file. Some people are having luck with removing it from the firewall bypass list. You could try that.

I read a thread about a guy that had a similar error with regards to his default audio device as well. While I didn't change my hardware, I did update its driver (SteelSeries, for the record). I rolled that one back to an older driver as well, didn't help.

I tried setting it in-game to default windows audio device (which is my headset) and to my headset in-game specifically as well, to no noticeable change. I can probably try to uninstall the SteelSeries engine for good, I kinda shied away from that yet because it also controls my mousepad, keyboard, mouse - you get the idea 😉

• first uninstalled SteelSeries engine (which manages all that RGB stuff, mouse polling rates and stuff, don't judge me :D)

• then uninstalled every instance of SteelSeries audio devices in the device manager

• THEN checked to show disabled devices in device manager and lo and behold: a few more (outdated?) instances of the same devices. Uninstalled those as well, rebooted - installed drivers again on itself, and now it's running for... checking my watch... 7 minutes, which is a new record

If you have anything like your CPU or RAM overclocked, even if it's more than capable of the overclock, revert the overclock.
If you use MSI afterburner, try reducing the power of the V-card by like 0.5% (-4).
Also try to disable Process Lasso or anything else that affects the CPU.

Hi! I came across a bug while on a mission: the Boltshark jammed up after a shot, not willing to finish it's reload animation. After switching to plasma carbine and back, it'd do the reload animation, but refuse to reload until a weapon swap. I think this might've been caused by switching weapons between either reload or switching ammo animations? Tried looking if anyone had similar problems, but couldn't find anyone else mentioning this.

in glacial strata, if an exploder gets frozen by the cold gas vents, it will get stuck permanently as it can't unfreeze fast enough. if you leave it there for some time, whenever you look in its direction your frame rate will drop drastically

Hi! not sure what chat to put this in so ill put it here and get some direction if I get some. I play deep rock a lot, I have a pretty weak graphics card but I run the game just fine on low settings. Last night I tried to up my settings and went overboard - the game crashed. Thing is now whenever I try to open it, it still crashes. Is there any way I could fix this? I already tried to safe boot, run a few scans, uninstall and reinstall, and I had a friend with better settings go into my account and lower the graphics, but it still wont open.

I don't think you have an idea of how much bug report there is each day. You can take a peak into #jira-bug-reporter to give you a vague idea.
Each bugs come with a priority, and every one of them can take up to several days or weeks for being fixed.

It takes a lot of time, especially considering every new update introduce even more bugs.

As sad as it is, this is not a high priority bug, even though I get how annoying of a bug it is.

the cloud is entirely taken care of by Steam so it's on Valve's hands. Clouds problem are common but usually don't last for very long. Sometimes simply restarting steam can fix the issue.

You'll have to record your post game victory screen or make extensive screenshots about it, because there's no way to answer your question without seeing what you are seeing.

But it was explained that later levels need more xp to level up, making it slower to gain a level.

Unless that is the case, there's two things that I can think of: either you are misinterpreting the XP gain at the end of the missions, or your friends are using some form of cheat.

Can I have a little support/help with fixing this?

Something seems to have broken since I played last week and I cannot join or create game invites with Discord. It seems to be connected the "Join the Union" boards in-game I'm being told in-game to "Join the Union", but I'm obviously in the discord since I'm here and all.

I've made sure that:

1. Discord is open first, and then DRG open second
2. I'm using the Discord Application not the site in a web browser, and I'm playing the game on Steam on the same computer.
3. Steam account is linked within Discord (you can see it on my profile)

Discord Settings > User Settings > Connections > Steam

4. DRG is recognized by Discord's Registered Games when I'm playing it

Discord Settings > Activity Settings > Registered Games

5. Discord is able to Display current activity as a status message.

Discord Settings > Activity Settings > Activity Privacy
All 4 settings are enabled, although I'm pretty sure only the first one needs to be

6. I've left this Discord server, restarted my computer so that everything closes and reopens; opened the game and tried to "Join the Union" through the board in-game; re-joined the discord and it still tells me in-game to "Join the Union"; it also still tells me this after re-starting the game again.
7. I've also tried re-installing DRG, twice (I'm so glad this game is only 4 GB)

The same way it's handled on any other computer since it's just a linux computer in handheld form. The problem arises from the fact that when the device is sleeping, it isn't connected to the internet. It has to connect then sync the steam cloud. It's the same when closing games, it has to sync. If time is not permitted on either end of that process then it won't take place.

Well, i managed it to ingame switch to directx and go to i think the second onne beeing there. I did this without mods while beeing in safe mode. Came across an interesting terrain gen bug.. At least I guess it was terrain gen at fault. My team and I were running around this room for several mintues before I spied this little bugger in the ceiling and panicked for a moment. I called my team over, relative newbies, to step in range of this leech so they could HEAR the hissing sound it makes when its coming to grab you, so they would know what to listen for when playing.

Only, When they stepped in range...it did nothing.

So, I drilled my way up through the nearby pillar and got right up by it and what do I see.. a little grey spot sticking out of the evil leech. This bugger spawned with a little bit of terrain stuck inside it that blinded it- Barely visible in screenshot 1, at the center; fully visible in the second screenshot after I killed it.

After I quit the game Blue Screen of Death(no error code) immediately pops off on my screen. After I reboot my PC and open the game again, all account progress I got during the last session is lost. I played 6 times, it happened 4 times. After the times it didn't happen my progress was saved.
It happened on both DirectX 11 and 12.

I play the game from Xbox Game Pass and it worked fine for the first 2 days. Then, 3 days ago, it started getting stuck on "synchronizing data" and doesn't let me in the game anymore (as seen in the image). I've tried restarting my PC, reinstalling the whole game (even with Revo Uninstaller which should remove every file related to the game) and verifying the game files.

My solution, while the game on and cannot sync message on and signed into app. MAKE SURE YOU DON’T DOWNLOAD OR OPEN ANYTHING DURING THIS PROCESS AS IT REQUIRES TO TURN ANTIVIRUS AND THREAT PROTECTION OFF FOR A MINUTE!

-click the windows button to open the start menu
-go to settings (right above the power icon)
-click on update and security and then click windows security on the left tab
-click on open windows security tab then virus and threat protection on the left tab
-under virus and threat protection menu click manage settings
-turn everything to off and go back to game and click the x to close the message
-it synced for me and took me to the screen brightness menu,
-turn all your antivirus and threat protection back on and enjoy.

I’m guessing this worked because i have no other antivirus. I’m also guessing that if you have another antivirus you might want to turn that off as well if this doesn’t work. and dont forget to turn everything back on. It’s a temporary fix and hopefully this gets to a dev and can find a fix.

hello guys, i recently formatted my pc and reinstalled the game. For some reason when I go to the Miner Union terminal is always showing the prompt to join the union, even if I alredy did, I even tried leaving and rejoining the server

Hello, I just tried playing on my Steam Deck and the volume is extremely low. Volume seems fine during the splash screens but once the hub loads the sounds are barely audible even at 200%. There definitely IS sound playing but it’s not sufficient to be playable. I did some searching and it doesn’t seem that anyone else is reporting this.

I tried wiping the ini files completely and resetting the deck, plus verifying files and reinstalling, no luck.

So I'm playing DRG through Proton on my PC, I was messing around with different Proton versions because I've experienced some lag and stuttering, but now I can't even launch the game

I tried reinstalling the game, deleting the Proton prefix, switching back to the previous proton version that worked for me, nothing works now

And I'm not even sure what to look for in the logs, but it looks like it has something to do with the shaders

I've never been great at reading error logs, but I'd take a gander that that looks like it may be a pre-cached shader issue. You could go into steam settings > shader pre-cache > uncheck enable > ok > go back and re-enable it and let your system redownload shaders.

Is Discord integration broken again? I've been trying to get it to load up for half an hour already, switching between fullscreen and windowed modes, different default browsers, running Discord standalone or in the browser, restarting both a bunch of times, etc.

It just doesn't load up the progress chart, keeping me on the "Join" screen 😐
What makes this worse is that the rewards should be distributed soon, and I don't want to miss out on the resources >_>

Ah, I see in #jira-bug-reporter that someone has already reported the taser bolt crashing issue, and the last crossbow bolt not working. That is a relief. I thought I was losing my mind.

Regarding the union membership issue, I checked my browser history and noticed the URL https://discord.com/app/invite-with-guild-onboarding/drg. When trying it now, it does nothing when executing it after leaving the server or after re-joining.

When trying to join from the game, I notice the URL https://discord.com/invite/drg is generated. But this doesn't seem to include the onboarding as I cannot see the union channel.

I've tried logging in on a completely separate machine and couldn't get my union chapter rewards there either. It offers me to join the union when I've been part of the Cave Crawlers for years. At this point I seriously think it is either something to do with my in-game/Discord account or with the bot/integration itself.

I've already tried all non-destructive options, the only thing that's left is to exit the Discord channel and try to rejoin, but will I get my rewards for this month in this case? The reason I am fussing is that I really need the Enor and Magnite that are FINALLY given as a reward to Cave Crawlers, and it would absolutely suck to miss it out. Any help?

I see that many people are having the same issue, is it worth raising as a bug then? Perhaps someone can give the bot a kick?

It's literally just the bot not working, and it's the same for most people so I wouldn't think it's worth flooding the reporting just for 3 missions worth of minerals and credits. the developer that made the system left GSG so their top priority isn't fixing the bot atm, so that's why it's been buggy for a while

Then they should remove the Discord integration or at least the mandatory requirement of being in the server. 100 Enor and Magnite isn't 3 missions worth of resources, and some people only have time for 3 missions per week, if not less, so it is still a noticeable hit, especially this close to the new update which is going to tax the resources on top of the gazillion overclocks I can't craft because I lack those same resources >_>

The union is not something big at all, and only the Steam version has it. In regard of the game, you're not actually losing anything. You're just not collecting a mild bonus. Besides, it's here for a whole week, you still have time for the bot to stop fucking around before it's gone.

The developer who made the bot left GSG a while ago, and it was a personal project, which GSG had no intention to pursue any further. They fixed it to the best of their ability when it broke, and tweaked it around a bit at some point but that's all the development it's ever gonna get, as sad as that may be.

and to answer your previous questions : yes, it has been reported. The bot has been acting up for 2-3 years now.

CPU: AMD FX-8350
GPU: ATI Radeon RX 580 Series
RAM: 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz
When using dx12 it just straight up switches pc off, not even a restart. We thought it was overheating, but other games worked fine. Eventually I recommended trying dx11 and we made it through a game with no issues. Can't really give crash reports due to the power off.

The GPU support DX12 so it shouldn't be a problem, and nothing that should turn off the computer. I have no idea from where it could come from. Might wanna verify the files of the game just in case, and maybe reinstall the drivers. I doubt it will solve anything but it's worth a try. 🤔
