Cuz in the manga, to me it seems like Ace is a nice older bro to Luffy when they were young, then disappeared. You're meant to think Luffy fondly remembers them and stays close, but action-wise Ace really comes across as a deadbeat tbh, just doing their own thing after they depart and drops in to Luffy when it's convenient
That's the main reason why I don't particularly care much about Ace, personally
I think the most important part of the entire flashback with found family Luffy, Ace, and Sabo is ||the scene with the rich folks and the kid asking the dad why they're burning the trash mountain||. When Rurouni Kenshin, who’s author is a known pedophile, had its anniversary recently, Fujimoto (CSM) and his assistants that made manga of their own Kaku (hells paradise), Endo (spy family) and Tatsu (dandadan) refused to celebrate. Kubo (bleach) also said nah
I’ve read part of CSM, Spy family and dandadan as well as all of bleach and hells paradise. All those works sure had fanservice but it was for mature characters or if there was a creepy scene with minors it was always portrayed in a negative light (Denji/Himeko or like the entirety of dandadan)

With this chapter, I think the arc is headed towards ||Loki getting domi reversi'd||. Here's why:
||The arc likely has 25 chapters left, given how Oda is keen to end major arcs around increments of 25 or 100 (Egghead ended at 1125. Dressrosa was nearly a clean 100 chapters. The examples are plentiful). However, the current slate of villains is not enough to draw out the arc if Loki is working with the heroes. He wiped most of Killingham's MMAs out and fodderized Sommers. Even a possessed Gunko is unlikely to put up a good fight. Simultaneously, this state of affairs leaves little room for other characters who have received focus (Hajrudin, Brook, Usopp) to meaningfully contribute. So, how can this arc get extended for another 25 chapters while giving other characters a way to contribute? The answer will be Loki getting Domi Reversi'd. This comes down to three main points: Rocks parallels, the set up of the demonic giants and reversi rules, and chapter 1175's introduction of the battle between Nika and the God of Elbaph||
||First are the Rocks parallels. Loki has been striving to be like Rocks, his idol, and Rocks' untimely fate was caused by Domi Reversi. By having Loki get corrupted, another parallel would be drawn.||
||Second is the premise of Domi Reversi. It has been shown to activate in two ways: direct corruption from Imu, or getting caught between corrupted beings. Strong characters, like Rocks, are able to resist direct corruption for some time, and since Imu is only possessing Gunko, it is unlikely Imu could perform this. That's where the second method comes in. If enough of the fodder demon giants are still active, that could be enough to surround Loki and corrupt him.||
||Finally is the God of Elbaph parallels. This seals the theory for me, as it establishes precedent for conflict between Nika and Nidhogg. Oda loves his parallels, and it is unlikely he would have randomly included this detail unless he was hinting at Loki fighting Luffy||
||It is suspicious how easily Loki has defeated the antagonists, but if Oda is setting up his heel turn, this would make the reversal of fortunes all the more crushing for the heroes. If this does happen, I think Ragnir will not be corrupted, but will instead go to another character, probably Hajrudin||
