I think one of the things to think about, and this is something I have to be reminded about so often, is that there's a lot of parallels to real life beliefs, cultures, and philosophies when viewed from certain lenses. You could map certain arcs for certain fantasy stories 1:1 with irl events, but even if it doesn't, there's parallels that can be drawn if you view things from certain points of view. There's entire fields about all this and a lot of words to describe it all, but when you view fiction you can view them from say, feminist, or trans, or historical, Hegelian, Marxist, etc. etc. views. But in the end, it comes down to questions of what themes a work has and what lenses can we view those themes. The author's background, inspiration, all sorts of things can color that perspective and we can talk about the politics of star wars or one piece and if they're good or bad
Anyway this reminded me of one of my favorite videos on the subject, it's short, but it suscinctly describes it well:
This thing fits very well with stuff like one piece for both good and bad, since you can always ask, "why do the women in one piece always have big booba" which reminds me of when people were asking about metal gear solid and why Quiet was naked
That vid is more about critical examination of a work and its themes, the classic diegetic vs exegesis but it does tie into stuff like the politics and beliefs of a fictional world and its writer

I always assume with training arcs, even if it’s passive like during a voyage, it takes a lot longer
The big thing to consider here is do you think characters would care about losing their boat that much if they only had it for a month?
I know a lot of it is mixed in with how long it took the series to progress so even if it may be shorter in “fictional real time” it took years for the manga
I was also surprised when someone said that breaking bad took a little over a year (maybe two?)
