Because it contradicts with him wanting to live. Also the 10 minutes thing. ||I honestly believe in the context of the series, Imu's design is literally what we see in front of our eyes. He's supposed to be this shadowy figure representing an oppressive government, as most people who live under one don't see the one usually pulling the strings of the country. And with chapter 1125 we can see of course the black flames spewing out of Saturn, notice how it's always a reoccurring theme with gorosei members and Imu to have something seemingly be covered in black/shadowy. I feel like that's just how Imu looks like. There's no design hiding behind it||

If Shanks' crew doesn't have anyone who can read the poneglyphs, assuming the ability to use observation haki to see through the eyes of relatives (seen in Film: Red) is canon, if Yasopp is close enough to Usopp when Robin reads the poneglyphs he could be the one who passes on the location to Shanks||

||not sure how Cross Guild plans on getting the One Piece though because it doesn't seem like Crocodile could read the poneglyphs otherwise he wouldn't have needed Robin, Mihawk probably has no interest and as such cant read them either||
