and increase fuel consumption as well due to having to put more power on the drive, making the engine work harder to maintain constant speeds

it's a bit more for helping parts last longer, and getting more mileage

also too much weight on the back axels, pending road conditions, can make it much easiler for a loaded trailer to loose control and fish tail

it's also why most open trailers or flatbeds you see that only have one or two things on them aren't exactly center of the bed, but centered between the axels, pending how many on the trailer

if it's light enough it really doesn't matter, but heavier loads, like suicide coils, are a bit more forward. weight distribution plays a huge part when it comes to loading

it's a rough position, most truckers would rather them roll toward front or back, cause if it goes, they'd rather take the chance of death than have a random family of 4 get hit by it.

Some forget, sometimes they pop open in transit due to bumps and such. Other times they're open to vent.

Product like fruits and veggies release gas over time, if the trailer doesn't have a vent door on it, they'll crack the door open to let it vent.

smart truckers always open doors away from their body and not be in the opening path in case of vent release and/or product shift and collapse on door latch release

Some trailers are made to keep the gases in, either on longer freights or major altitude changes, to allow the product to remain ripe or at least try to keep it as ripe as possible, those trailers will have a vent release on it somewhere to vent it prior to door opening. However a lot of logistic companies are cheep as FUCK and will do it with a regular dry freight or reefer with no 3rd safety for vent release, and just tell the dockworker or driver "Just don't stand in front of it and wear hearing protection"

Roadcraft is fun. The tutorial is long, so I'm still in it after 3 hours. It is quite arcade, but the game design flows quite well. It's different but not too different and so far, I only have an issue with the lack of customization and upgrades. The focus is on upgrading the map you play on, but I would like to have more focus on the individual vehicles.

Steam input is broken for me, so I don't know how well a controller feels.

One day, I will get a steering wheel.
