#Defects on lips (funnel)

There are some defects on the model's lips, specifically when she does funnel. But it was fine when I rigged it, it doesn't look like that in the live2d cubism editor, so it's only in vtube studio. I can kinda assume what caused this, I drew the lips in a higher resolution than the rest of the face and reduced their size in the cubism editor, and then rigged it like this. But in general they look fine, it's only the funnel that is the problem, so i'm not sure what actually causing this. How can I fix this?

Also, I have another question, you can see this in the end of the video, when the model turns right and left, it feels like it gets stuck for a second or hits a wall, even though I have augmented physics on angles. How to deal with it?

are the errors visible in the live2d viewer?

Oh! I think I know what this issue is - I've run into it while doing like unnecessary/weird levels of deformation + shrinking

VTS seems to run into a problem displaying textures that are shrunk + deformed considerably where it will mistakenly display transparent pixels where there shouldn't be any

If you're looking for a quick(ish) fix, then going in to each mouth keyform and correcting the mesh to have the points be as close to equilateral triangles as possible should help

If that doesn't work or you'd rather a better/more stable solution:

Resizing the mouth to be normal sized or only slightly larger than intended in the PSD and re-importing and re-rigging

Or more stable while retaining the increased resolution but a lot of work and not a quick solution:

Re-rigging the mouth with the existing art, potentially multiple times, until you learn how to keep the mesh really clean when deforming. Personally I find rigging on warp deformers easier for this as you can use paste form special to make it perfectly symmetrical and then the warp deformer shaping brush to smooth out the warp (which then also smooths out the mesh ofc)

interesting, didn't know that :P thanks void!

space them out more evenly here (since that's where i saw the error is ocurring)

As Kibu said, spacing out more evenly helps, you can also move the points towards the horizontal center some as well

You want all the triangles that make up the mesh to be as close to equilateral as possible

So like this shape ⚠️

Ok, so, I've changed the funnel a little, made it less squished and now It looks much better! Thanks for help, everyone!
