So I'm making my vtuber based off of a poodle, so I want her ponytails to wiggle like other anime ears (the little twitches, perking up, drooping down, etc.) However most ear rigging tutorials are for ears that are standing up.
I'm looking for something kinda like this --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gubzIODmSyE
Does anyone have a recommendation on how to tackle this? Or if they have a tutorial recommendation?
pls & thx

Oh ok, i think that makes sense

idk if these are the best ways to do physics, but it's the ways i do physics lol

method 1:

  • separate it into R/L
    • pros:
      • uses less deformers
      • less rigging to do?
    • cons:
      • since the physics inputs are both angle x AND angle y, in certain movements, one ear might not move at all/move just a little since the inputs cancel each other

method 2:

  • separate it into movement X and Y
    • pros:
      • since angle x and y are on different physics, they won't cancel each other, aka both ears move separately (it's easier to see than to explain.)
    • cons:
      • uses more deformers
      • more rigging (you've gotta rig the x and y movement separately)

i hope it makes sense

Oh ok gotcha! The file was very helpful. I guess I was just over thinking it 😅 Thx again
