#Editor Lagging in Cubism 5?

Is anyone else facing huge amounts of lag when moving the sliders in the editor? I just upgraded to 5.0 and when moving the sliders it becomes really laggy when compared to the version I'm previously using (4.2). Screen tearing also happens when I use the randomize parameters option, which also does not happen in 4.2. Is there a setting anywhere that I can change in 5.0 to improve performance?

I also have the display quality set to full scale, and set "High Performance" in the graphics settings on both versions.

Specs:

CPU: Intel i5-8265U
GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce® MX130
RAM: 16GB
OS: Windows 11

What is your screen resolution?

I use Live2D on my main monitor (1920x1080), there's also a second monitor connected that's 1440x900

Just for a test try disabling the 1440p monitor to see it gives any difference

Hmm I unplugged the hdmi cable on the second monitor and tested 5.0 again. It seems like there's no difference, and there's still screen tearing when pressing the play button. 4.2 still works fine though

Can you share your program Log? It's on the Log panel

Renderer : Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620
Well it seems the Editor is running on your integrated graphics card

#

I assume you're using a laptop

#

You should find a setting to run the program in High performance graphic card

hmm I already had it set on the windows settings

Maybe on the NVIDIA driver settings?

wait it has??

Live2D 5.0 is quite a bit more demanding

#

at least its what i see on your 4.2 log

#

i'm also using a laptop atm with both AMD and Nvidia graphics, my Live2D renderer is set to Nvidia one

#

this is one setting you should look on your Nvidia driver

#

you can either set a global setting to use your Nvidia as default or per-program

cedar pond
#

alright so I've set both to nvidia now, both versions say that it's on nvidia via the logs

#

however, for some reason, the performance became worse on 4.2...? screen tearing is also still there on 5.0...

#

wait no nvm hold on, performance suddenly improved on both after I sent that

#

it became way smoother now!!

#

but only when I don't have an artmesh selected, if I select an artmesh and try moving the parameters the unbearable lag appears again

#

also try testing on a sample model

#

either way you can't eliminate lags entirely but at least you can minimize it, that varies depends on the project size and complexity kspMelt

#

also I found changing this setting gives an effect to me, but might be not relevant to you since you're not using High DPI display... but worth a try anyway

will try that setting

#

hmm the setting did not help, I think it became worse :<<

(I also set 4.2 back to intel graphics)
