The game runs on x,y cords all a map is doing is sliding a cursor around the x,y cords on a stand still image
Since x,y cords are built into the engine, there is no programming to it other than creating the image and putting the cord info on it like a grid
And they aren't using real time updates with it, so it's even easier to do

Wow just reading posts from the last few hours, how am I supposed to grind from 7 to 50 with only 10-15 players playing this?

so to take into account some math (which I am bad at), you can get around and possibly more than 1000 a match if you at least make it to the top 4. Effectively making 1 lvl 13 games but only if you reach that point.
I would suggest just picking one of the things you're wanting to go for and just making that a goal and treat it like a milestone situation.
on my end personally, I only intend to lvl up maybe once a day until like 3 days before the cut off point for the ugly clothes and horny helm.

So the thing im seeing a lot on steam and youtube is everyone or a large portion of people are upset with apoc due to it not being the mmo despite intrepid saying hey we are only using it for testing (but then people say why the cosmetic store then)
I think if hordes released soon it would prove more of a point that the mmo is moving forward at a steady rate.
Question is do you (the reader) think thatd help the situation? Im enjoying apoc but theres just not enough people at the moment especially for me as an aussie player. Im getting matches of like 12 to 15 people. I enjoy it but its gonna be hard to get to lvl 50

The problem with the people complaining stims from 2 things. People bitching that it isn't the MMO and knowing full well what is going on, and people bitching it isn't the mmo with cosmetics in it who have no idea what is going on at all because they don't research shit. Siege mode would probably help to an extent, but it's still going to be the same people complaining. I'm not happy it's a BR either, but here I am playing it because I want Ashes to be as good as it can be. The cosmetics are just a bonus. There's also a lot of people who in general are waiting for siege. How many? Who knows. Will it probably be an issue, maybe. But we can't say until it happens.

Your Secondary pretty much adds flavor to what you picked.

@crystal beacon Each class will have their own special ability that helps them do various things, take a look at one of the Mages abilities (see image below).
To me that sounds like what you might be looking for.. but if you really want to explore all of an area then it is very likely that you need help from various friends with different classes and work together with them to uncover all the secrets of an area.
So you might find a hidden area, but then you need another class like the cleric to remove the poisonous fog in that area or you will slowly die an agonizing death because you can't breath. Teamwork is very important.

Still find it weird when people say quests are not needed to get 50. When Intrepid decided that the challenge was to get level 50 by the end of the month, they set a bar of how dedicated people need to be to achieve it, as with any timed progression system. When they decided, they were 100% basing it off how long it would take with all the challenges being considered. To say quests are not needed just means you are on the more dedicated side of their range of people who will be able to achieve level 50. I also don’t think only having an issue of a few quests is enough reason to not get it, but it is possible people will end up a few levels short and also have a few levels they can’t get through quests because of squads being down. Sorry for my paragraph

@zinc pine lock max FPS to 60, turn down post processing and graphics effects, and pull draw distance down at least to high. From the testing I did, post processing and graphics effects hit the hardest, and as chickofx said make sure you turn off blur and vsync as well.

Kinda feels like pve could be a bit tame in later parts of the game when people are geared and nodes just get deleveled, is there any idea if their planning a few massive scenarios, i.e if a few people screw up a quest a few times, so an npc faction they failed to fight for example say a underrealm bug hivemind starts poping up in a node, if left to grow, it would threaten the whole node with being wiped out, or them taking the fight to nodes in a certin radius, somewhat creating a world changing threat, like band together against this or a massive zone could be destoryed, any idea if something like this is being considered?

I'm sure its been asked before, but will it be possible to hide helm and or cloak in the MMO? Reason I ask is I'm debating on getting the Corvid Castigator outfit. It looks cool as is, but I also like the leather/cloth armor underneath and would probably be more likely to decide to buy if it could be used on a character as displayed and without the hood and feathers. Would double value then (in my opinion) since it could be a great aesthetic for a mage type character with the hood and cloak and a good simple/dark aesthetic for a rouge or fighter type character when hood and cloak are hidden.

Good idea but unfortunately there is no word on that now though and I don't believe they plan on implementing anything of that sort. The only way to "eradicate" a specific race would probably to have a war or make the node unviable to them.

NPCs don't factor in to which race contributes the most xp to determine the dominant race for the next stage. Expelling NPCs would have no effect on that.

This is not a question. It's a suggestion. I hope the game is a lot more action than tab-targeting. As much as the news about Archeage Unchained is positive, I avoid playing. BDO has exceptional combat, but there are other things I don't like. ESO's combat is cool, but I wish it was even more action.
BTW, I hate passive dodge... Percentage... RNG... Dodging has to be active, reactive! The defense has to be either by armor/shield, or by dodging, or by magic. Choose one and be weak in the other two.
If combat is fun, with as little tab targeting as possible, I'll love it. Looking forward to AoC news. o/

Someone said this a few days ago and they weren't responded to. It was regards to having somewhere as a training ground where people can try out abilities.
Some additional feedback that may be useful. I'm glad I'm not the only who feels this. APOC is a difficult style for me, I played several hours and I only reached lvl 4. I have stopped playing/helping with testing as it's too frustrating to que for a while then die when you come across your first person.
In short: I am too much of a shit player to help with your testing unfortunately, unless something can be done where we have somewhere to practice without pressure. Keep up the great work, I am a fan, and patient for the MMO

@deep lintel sadly BR is like that, normally it is not souch problem with more players, but for now there are not enough players and who's playing are mostly BR players that are good in it, so that's why u die so fast. i'm same way. should be better when sieges are up, fo those we need to wait tho

@deep lintel I typically fly to the outskirts of the storm circle - far from where I expect others to land. Try completing pve quests like opening chests. Grab and equip some yellow gear. Practice combat by destroying walls, wagons and barrels. Grab health potions, play in the corruption and then heal yourself in order to complete the Heal quests.
Ctrl to crouch is your friend.

@deep lintel i just started playing last week on tuesday or wednesday and originally i felt the same way. just stick with it, it gets easier. like @fresh heart said, just land outskirts. my longest queue so far has been 8 minutes and that was today. normally for me its been anywhere from instant to 4 minutes average. Ive been starting my stream in the morning with ashes. so i havent played too much. probably 1-2ish hours a day and ive gotten to level 13. you just gotta get used to the mechanics, movement, and weapons. If it's split in half, could be that your Nvidia 3D got turned on.
If that's the case, you can disable it in your nvidia control panel, I believe.

Delete the folder where you installed the game (Main AoC Game folder)
