Have anyone seen any updates on the referral program? You can still not add a referral code while making a new account. Did Intrepid promise too much with the program and is backtracking by leaving it sort of dead in the water?

The referral redemption is currently being worked on, the last update we received on it was the April 30th livestream (18 days ago) where they stated it is not yet ready, but they will let us know when it is up and running again.

Initially the referral program worked via referral link, I believe they're switching to a new system where you apply a referral code instead.

Ah understandable, personally I think it goes both ways. Many people are holding off on registering/purchasing a pack with monthly cosmetics until the referral system is back up as well.
Either way, we're not sure of the specifics, as I said, as of April 30th they've stated they're still working on things, we'll just have to wait.

@cinder terrace, originally, Intrepid wanted to release AoC “before 2020.” They encountered a delay that will take “months, not years.” Since then, they’ve decided to only give dates that they’re sure they can meet. Aka, when it’s completed and ready to go! So dates will come shortly before releases going forwards (likely)

Yea me too. I am playing on a private server of a game that went dead and within a year they have taken their c++ servers to pretty close to retail and this was done quick cause Warner Bros. didn't give us much warning so everyone was logging packets like crazy!!!

@crystal beacon really you should wait about 2-3 months before doing a top line build right now. New Ryzen gen 2 processors and new mobos along with them will be out in two months as well as a refresh on the 2080ti and also possibly Navi (and graphics card) might be close to being out then. Really really really though should wait for the new Ryzen though is built on new 7nm process and will have between a 15-25% performance increase at low end.
Also x570 mobos native support for pcie express 4.0
12 to 16 core non threadripper Ryzen chipset based 7nm processor (3700x if they follow there current naming structure) will be amazing 🤗

You are correct. If you purchase the 250$ pack now, you have no idea when the Alpha begins.
This is due to the fact that the developers stated that going forward they will only provide dates when they are ready and confident that they can deliver on those dates.
As such, they also announced that all prior dates/estimates provided are cleared.
Which is why the schedule I linked above has the various phases marked as TBA - As their dates are currently not yet announced.
The BR was released back in December 2018, however the BR was taken down while the developers worked on architectural issues. The devs have stated that they will bring it back up again once those issues are fixed (additionally the battle pass timer will be renewed so players get the full duration)
As of the last livestream (April 30th) the progress for Apocalypse is almost 90% done and they're working on the final 10% (which usually takes the longest)

as someone who is looking for a wow killer (played for 7 years and i hate it now super boring) its just a hard time right now I want AoC and will definitely play the game but I'm also the gamer that does not care about pre-order items as they typically are replaced by more rare and unique mounts/armor/ etc that can be crafted/farmed later I guess Ill just wait then... the alpha/beta promises are hardly an incentive on intrepids website with absolutely no insight on when they will be even in a guestimate form... Blizzard is notorious for SOONtm and its this kind of MMO I want to get away from to give yall credit at Intrepid studios this has been the most transparent I have seen a company just bites to have everything be TBA when everywhere else says Intrepid has quoted a 2019 release. Obviously I know the internet is not always trusty I am just looking for an official timeline link/location that I can regularly check and know to be valid.

Besides social media platforms such as Discord/Twitter etc. they plan to do director's letters at set intervals which are sent out via email or posted on the main site. These usually contain the major progress updates for the project.

Hey, not sure if this has been asked before, but I was wondering if this game will be ping dependent.
I'm from SEA, and I want to play with my friends in NA. I'm just worried that some classes won't be viable with my ping (like rogue + fighter).
idm playing somewhere where its in the middle for us like OCE. Just wondering if the game will be like Blade and Soul (where 100 ping basically trashes your class), or like GW2 (where ping doesn't really matter that much).

Like all things internet, the game will indeed be ping dependent. They are providing SEA/OCE servers confirmed to help reduce the disadvantage you might have by playing on the opposite side of the world from where the servers are based, but if you have to play with friends from NA and live in Australia, you are going to take a hit like every other game out there that has a massive multiplayer PVP component. Will the game be unplayable? No one knows or can answer that with certainty atm since they are still working on their custom backend. With a hybrid of action/tab planned for combat, latency is going to be an issue regardless.

Apoc at least has some very mechanical action skills like aiming arrows and such. Ping will probably be an issue there if that’s how it is in the MMO. But you can also use tab target skills in the MMO too! So it’ll definitely be rough in some ways, but you can avoid the majority of it by choosing to use tab skills if you desire

we can't say for sure, but it's likely not scrapped. Intrepid has an art style for AoC, and other artists will create assets in the same style!

- Pay to play (The game will have a 15$ monthly subscription fee)
- The devs have mentioned that some testing phases will have open testing after the paid private testing.
- We have no dates yet for any of the testing phases as the game is in active development.
This is the latest roadmap, none of the phases have a date announced as the developers will share them once they are ready and can deliver on them.

I'm guessing the answer to this is "no", but should a tax rate be in place, do town services - such as vendors or auctioneers - have a flat or graduated tax rate? Though I recall reading the government executive can set these rates, I don't remember seeing any information on the types of levies applicable. This question isn't to ascertain whether, for example, a maximum rate of 20% exists, but rather to see if one could set a low rate for one type of service/bracket and a high rate for another type of service/bracket.
Would you know whether the mayor could set a different rate for players with simple apartments vs. full-on houses though?
Or, in the case of subordinate nodes B and C to parent node A, having B pay 5% in taxes while C pays 8%.

I have to say I stopped following this game even though I am a backer. They have gone miles from the direction they set out with. Lots of people have said much the same. They have added so many different types of PvP that world PvP will be watered down. They are even trying to go in a new direction to keep the vocial ones happy and at the same time trying to keep old promises. Like trying to have action based skills and tab targeting skills on the same char so you can pick your play style. Like thats going to make tab target play even be something fun in that mix. IMO, they are breaking their game every step they take. Ashes now is not the game they painted a picture of when they pitched it. They have not stuck to any vision.

If I can make a copy of my project, then use that to make updates to my presented project, I'd do that. They're trying to give you something you can use and play to get you by until the full MMO is out, while presenting lore and refining their systems

The packages currently offered in the store will be retired depending on the developers decision. But logically speaking, you obviously wont be able to purchase an Alpha 2 pack after Alpha 2 has ended.
The cosmetics offered in the packs are cycled monthly, so if you dislike this month's cosmetics, you could wait until a new rotation comes up.

Without me having to search for this answer, I feel like it can be answered here. There is no clear description on testing once you buy the bundle of your choice, unless I havent found it yet. IF I purchase one when are the times that I can test the game or even see what my money is going towards? And is there even a date around when they think it will be done? If I have to wait a couple years I think ill just wait and see what comes out of it then rather

@quasi torrent They've mentioned last year that only a small % of the team was working on the BR - Additionally the BR is incredibly easy to create (hence its popularity in the video game industry)
All assets used in the BR transfer over to the MMORPG. This is thanks to the modular structure of UE4 (Unreal Engine) which lets the devs swap things around with ease like lego bricks.

Whats the difference between APOC and AOC?

APOC is a testing product that consists of a battle royale, castle siege side vs side battle, and a horde mode of players vs monsters (possibly players as monsters also). AOC is the MMO that those systems being tested will feed into.

Official dates, no. Predictions, I've heard several circulate but in my personal opinion I think that we will see the summer season dedicated to development. Look towards autumn for some activity developments. I could be totally wrong, but following trends seen with early testing time frames it would make sense 😁

Those are good spitball time frames. I don't want people to think that I'm saying anything definitive, as it is pure speculation, but if they're wrapping up apoc, they'll do testing soon. Once they are happy with that, they have many core systems in place for the mmo already established from apoc (which is their stated intention from the stream). Then, they have less "from the ground up" work to do since they did it all in apoc. This will probably be the longest drought of information we have in this process.
A lot of companies wouldn't give us this glimpse so early on. That's why it feels so long, because, unlike other companies, we know that this is happening, whereas a lot of others don't really announce anything until they're ready to test. I consider this a privilege, honestly.
