Intrepid is not specific when they mention server up and down times. They said the servers would be up today (today in PST). So there's never really a way to know for sure when the servers will be up or down lol. We play it by ear here.

EU will feel the worst over the testing maintenance periods, seeing as Intrepid is also try to hire the best staff they can find to create the game and are below their current staff quota as mentioned in the most recent podcast. None of their servers are up currently. If it's still prompting you to update, wait until servers are up and then take the appropriate steps to fix your launcher. Make sure there are no IntrepidLauncher services or processes running, then relaunch it. If that fails, you may need to reinstall.

@winter canyon yes, a bit (can check wiki). There are some vids too but you should take this as a general idea: Left side = base class, so think what base classes usually can do (you wouldn't expect a warrior to shoot fireballs). Then think top for modifier (For example, if warrior+tank you would expect it to be a melee tank. Main skills are based off of main class but "modified" by sub class which means that you would expect a warrior + tank sub class to be melee tank. A warrior modified by mage class still uses warrior skills as main skills BUT modified with maybe magic dmg in their attacks or gain some ranged magic hits

I kind of feel like they should make base HP 200 bump regular axe swings to 20 dmg and give more health pot spawns so that people aren't punished for combat as much. Right now it seems getting first place is easiest if you just avoid fighting as much as possible and kill people out of nowhere. The battle royale feels much shorter/punishing/less fun than other battle royales because of these reasons IMO, what do you guys who have played it think?
EDIT: RIP I guess not a lot have played it yet.

Before I realized their spawn point is the same and doesn't really move horizontally but instead just drops you down I just dived downwards, grab weapon and prepare to murder all the newbies that HAVE to eventually fall down somewhere in proximity. lol, I don't know about you but when you're new that sounds incredibly boring and the mechanic is obviously flawed as it forces everyone to just get to the ground ASAP for a weapon that is not garbage.
I mean I can rank rank 1-3 easily, but its boring as hell when the whole game starts the same way.

@slender violet figuring out which abilities people drift towards when they can select any ability is one way of going about balancing the classes - Intrepid can for example look at data and decide that a meteor like ability shouldn't go with cat fall jumps, because if there's an ability like that bows won't get used because they are too difficult to aim comparatively while flying through the air - or perhaps invisibility + extreme burst is a bad idea, etc. -- can also be used for stuff like balancing different utilities against each other (icy steps seems relatively unpopular compared to blink for example - it would be harder to tell that in an overall class kit if only one class had access to icy steps and only a different class had access to blink)

also use your old website account password and not the password to the test accounts if you had one of the test accounts

Hello, I hope that someone here can help me. I cant seem to launch the game. I installed it and can logon, but whenever I press the "Launch" button the launching Icon in the top right corner appears and disappears again after about 10 sec. I've tried to reinstall it and even delete the folders in %appdata%. Any help would be appriciated

@wraith burrow traditional MMO testing is not up at all right now -- A1 testing begins in Q2 of next year, will probably have several character wipes throughout it's course, and none of the progress will carry over to live launch

I went to the main site where the download is, downloaded it and it did its launcher update thing, but when I actually click on the launcher to open it nothing happens. @cedar walrus If your having trouble logging into website (which I'd recommend doing before logging into launcher) It's probably because your account hasn't gone through migration yet - alternatively enter your username in all lowercase - need to use your old forum username with no capitals as the login username mine would for example be 'greypelt' instead of 'myemail@gmail.com'
also use your old website account password and not the password to the test accounts if you had one of the test accounts
- and _ are newly unavailable in usernames and will probably need to use recovery options
recovery options are expected to be available before the end of Dec 21st (for Intrepid)
if you log into your account and past transactions are missing, it's probably from the account not having completed migration

@next laurel The Battle Royal is going to be separate from Ashes of Creation. Ashes is going to have its own Global PvP system at least, though I am not aware of any instanced PvP. The Point of PvP in Ashes would be 1. for fun 2. to claim the rights to cities and other objectives 3. to prevent others from sabotaging things like trade caravans

Not only has Intrepid not announced that the servers are online, but you still cannot get past "Launch". So, the servers are not online yet.

@crystal beacon im pretty sure the password requirements demanded a caps and maybe even a number, you only have to use lowercase on account name, enter your PW as you registered it

@lone dome yes hopefully before the first we’ll get on alpha testing the castle sieges which should then be about a month when it goes to open apoc if all goes well and then horde mode to alpha in March ish with it again going to open apoc about a month after when it’s in a good state

It's really unfortunate. Gamers now a days have become so entitled that even a free program/test is slammed with unproductive outrage. It's quite clear that this game is beyond far from finished, and is barely working as it. That's the entire purpose of testing. To expect anything more makes you delusional.
