@mild schooner Questing i.e. there's battle pass themed quests such as "Find 3 elixirs, obtain 5 headshots" etc.
Experience gain i.e. there are various daily quests etc for exp calculation
Armory i.e. in the BR lobby you are able to equip/unequip various cosmetic items in your loadout
Items i.e. various consumables such as health potions, mount potions etc are available in the BR

and finally as for the backend systems, the BR lets them test 100-man tests whereas a PvP arena would only be 5v5 and doesnt put any stress on the server.

I purchased a Founders Pack summer '17, too busy to tests until now, verified email for testing and am trying to set up with Intrepid. Intrepid will not allow me to setup, i am using the same email, but it does not seem to recognize my email. What do i do?

@tacit osprey when you go to the site provided in the email, the first thing you'd want to do is go to
"Don't have an Intrepid Account yet? Register here." (located below the big orange log in button)

Then you'll see a Sign up page.
Username can be whatever you 'd like, and for now that will be your visible username (it will reset before the game goes llve, so it doesn't really matter now)
Password - Kinda self explanatory
Verify that baby
For email, make sure you copy/paste your email exactly from your account on: https://www.ashesofcreation.com/account/general
including caps/non caps.

There's a known issue where if you've gotten a verification mail already, It will have allowed you previous registration.

I thought Apocalypse is a separate thing and comes out way before the actual game since it makes no sense for it to come after. On their description for YouTube for the Apocalypse trailer they say Open beta begins 16th December. Not Alpha test but Open Beta! This means Apocalypse is separate and this its Open Beta. Question is when is the final release. It wont make any sense for the Apocalypse to be in open beta for 1 year...

As far as br being a standalone, if you dont know already, because something happened in verra, your ancestors had to leave in order for them to survive. And after thousands of years, you return in the MMO to explore the new world that awaits. The BR = the world before your ancestors left (from what i understand) and it will be broken into chapters (like seasons on fortnite)

Each chapter will have lore explaining events that led to “apocalypse” when they had to leave through the portals for some reason (br shuts down) and come back after (mmo launches). Idk if they will keep br up when mmo is released or not either but ya

Again, im half asleep so everything isnt 100% accurate (i think it is) but watch yesterdays stream or wait for someone else to reply 😅

@stable plover secret farm are for example a lare portion of trees that are available for logging to anyone (so the player who plants the tree has to find a good spot in order to get full laverage of the trees and none else can touch them

Exploring can lead you to finding lore, coming across rare legendary items, treasure hunting and you will gain exp
there is still much unknown still but thats what we know so far

I would like to see some weight to the movements, eg when swinging the sword, I want to feel that I successfully damaged my opponent. Furthermore, each of my actions should have consequences, I don't want a bunch of dudes running in circles and swinging their swords with no mechanics attached. The combat needs to slow down (Bard said it will but now I wonder - just through the mix of tab and action or something else?) and each of my movements should require skill, planning and thinking ahead of my opponent. So did they mention any info on this regard?

@azure birch Animations are not locked in yet, 'weight' etc and physics will be looked at continuously as the game develops. This is their First pass at the new action combat and it will be tweaked during the alpha testing phases.

Steven's specific example was: Compare the current animations to the ones from PAX a year ago, that's how big of a jump they want to show for what it will look like after alpha testing.

yep that's what keeps my hopes up really. They have improved a lot. All i want is that they dont stop improving. The fact that BR mode became a side product made me worried as it was considered to be good enough for a side product which it isnt in my opinion as i said it lacks the physics and mechanics of melee combat etc. But ye if they plan on implementing those mechanics, great news.

They can't tell you when the testing will be because the last info given out was that something was broken. Until they fix it, they can't tell you when. Once it is fixed, then they will test. Since the thing specifically mentioned was the launcher, kinda hard to get past that first step until then.

Apocalypse would be free to play for either all of the backers or all of the registered people (its in there somewhere..)
However, since they have to host this, they do offer a shop and "Legendary" pack that can be purchased. The legendary pack would simply contain more skins that can be earned during the Apocalypse stages compared to the free to play version (which also offers skins that you can earn)
Apocalypse will contain BR, Siege and Horde mode, so not just BR.
Not in Apocalypse, I believe. That might be part of the MMO though.

Apocalypse will be a stand alone version, that is different from the MMO.
Apocalypse will only contain Battle Royale, Siege and Horde mode, in an effort to not only test the content but also the servers by allowing all backers to join.

technically, Beta 1 for AoC will be the full game. Apoc beta release is Dec 18th. Be sure the terminology is correct so the masses don't get mixed up. Apoc beta is free. AoC Beta is not.

after the 3 chapters are finished, the mmo testing will begin or has already begun, and apoc will be a finished product with updates possibly being merged in from the mmo as it is being developed towards a finished product

Hey guys, the beta apoc are servers going to be avalible for oceanic? Its kinda impossible for aussies to participate in BR with the 400-600ms we get with the server diffrence. So aussies are kinda restricted untill then. Horde mode would be only thing viable.

@simple ether I heard you are implementing 64 classes, and that is such a challenge tbh, but here goes other question. For example, I'm a Fighter I start with sword, then I go blade dancer do I keep the sword or do you change the whole equipment, cause I guess if I start off as bard I have an harp as main weapon, but then by rolling to Blade dancer from it? Or is it gonna be like Archeage in which you just take the skills of certain class and implement it to your base one

Okay can someone help me with explaining this whole AoC account / my.com acocunt thing? Why the split? I thought my were hosting servers for both na and eu so why all the talk about my.com hosting the eu site? And if I can play on EU servers using the account on the ashes website, why would anyone ever want to register on my.com? Also, why is the ashes website and my.com offering different cosmetics with the preorder packs? Did I mess up as an EU player for buying the preorder pack on the Ashes website instead of my??

My.com is for EU. NA is self-published by Intrepid. everything on your Intrepid account will be transferred to My.com. the reason you didn't make a My.com acct but instead an Intrepid one is because My.com wasn't ready yet

yea, lots of people definitely did when it got announced, haha--but they do have other problems like security breaches. thing about that though is that the new EU laws punish companies who have security breaches heavily. so My.com's forced to double down on their security

I believe that's a specific thing for My.com because of their reputation (and Intrepid needs people to actually trust My.com). I imagine NA players will have some way of getting whatever it is too

nope, not yet! they're going to start the transfer process before the 18th this month. you'll have to do something manually to transfer it

I don't think they will auto transfer because they want to let EU players have the option of playing on the NA servers, which would mean they would keep their accounts with Intrepid
