The way their queue system works currently is dependent on which server worker you logged out or dcd at. Pgup let's you see the server worker number so you can always try and avoid busy ones if you want. Just never log out on purpose in the most active ones if you want to avoid the stupid long queues times. People can still walk into the area you are queued into making it really hard for me other to get in. They are also currently working on a way to fix this

Im sure theyre working on something to combat the bots. Banning one by one by hand as reports come in will never solve the issue unfortunately as they'll just get new accounts and crack on, they need a better fix, one thats more substantial and automated. In all honesty theyre probably watching and observing and learning as much as humanly possible from them to create the best fix. But, I agree, needs to be done sooner rather then later. If they just blindly let it go on for weeks months it will massively discourage people (i really dont think they'll do this)

I went to Steel Bloom, and there are holes in the floor at the top of the wall, and the mystic (who is supposed to float above the ground) doesn't jump over them after me and builds a route through the entire fortress, gathering a procession of mobs behind him. I've had NO issues logging in, and almost no lag/rubberbanding. However, I NEVER log out on the same server worker as the town I'm near, which is a pain. If you log out in Joeva I'd say you're still likely to have issues.

what is the security system you speak of? just closing them may not turn them off, they usually have windows services running in the background at an admin level. that can interfere with EAC. depending on what you have, you might need to uninstall some stuff. I don't mean to advise turning off all your antivirus software, but even Windows Defender (which doesn't interfere) can cover you just fine in most cases.

Try right click your game in the Steam library, properties, updates, and change to immediate download updates and then close Steam ( not click X in right corner but left top steam and Exit at the bottom ) then restart Steam and you should get the correct file installed.

regarding my crash issue earlier - I resolved it by verifying files. I am not sure what AoC is doing wrong here but this is a major issue - I believe they're doing some out of sync updates (server/client) and that can cause issues - also with EAC not recognizing files. but apart from that, I think maybe the game itself is changing some files somehow, because this is abnormal. I am not sure why it found 14 modified files, that should never happen out of sync with Steam patches.

Okay, it says to "Navigate to C:\Program Files\Intrepid Studios\AshesOfCreation\PROD\EasyAntiCheat (or wherever you have the game installed), double-click on Install.bat to install EAC manually." This is not exactly what I did, I deleted that EasyAntiCheat folder, then used the file verification in Steam to put it back. Delete that...fully uninstall it. 1, it´s pure garbage that slows down your computer. Windows own security is well enough. 2: Many have had issues with Mcaffee specifically...so again.. uninstall it, and if you have a sub to it, remove that. That " product " is about as trustworthy as a gas station Sushi in June.

Try right click your game in the Steam library, properties, updates, and change to immediate download updates and then close Steam ( not click X in right corner but left top steam and Exit at the bottom ) then restart Steam and you should get the correct file installed.

Also, uninstall Macafee if you have it.

Game is not optimized for different setups. Most have found that playing with various settings and a mix of settings (not all high, not all low sort of thing) greatly affects what performance they get. And then the next update, it may break again and new setting need to be applied. You gotta play with it. Don't be this guy.

Ok Crates system confuses me... tried numerous times, watch alots videos, read wiki, tries Ashes Academy but cant find a simple Crate 101 I found per use case...

I want to move my entire storage mats from Joeva to Shorefoot without PvP risk as fast as possible.

Can I use a personal Crate and if so how?
I tried few times but when arrive at destination town storage I can only put the crate into storage, I cant seem to unpack it or even view what the crate containing.

What am I missing?
Maybe my old 54yr brain, but seems over complicated for simple mechanic. 🤷‍♂️

That is only supposed to be the case if you use a crowbar, if you shift right click you are unpacking it as an item you own.

I'm not defending the game like i'm the CEO, i'm defending it from people that don't understand what they buy before they buy it. People that seem to be ignorant of the definition of what an Alpha is, as well as people that seem to think they should be handed everything on a silver plater. Maybe you should do more checking on just how many games are on the market on steam that aren't even remotely finished yet.

Eg. I want to become Grandmaster Wand Artisan. Meaning I can, will be one in my Guild to make the best wands, highest tier, best stats. This is because I plan try also be Grandmaster Enchanter of gear also.

Those 2x goals alone require a huge amount effort, Guild, dungeons, mats, levelling to achieve. Plus huge amount off social, collaborative fund with Guild mates.

Crate values are determined by distance, biomes crossed, and supply & Demand. Each biome you cross adds 20% value, the distance is calculated in a straight line from the bench you crafted it to the guy you sell it to, and thats from a birds eye view. When crates from ridiculously far nodes to another node are crap value thats cause everyone and their sister is running that same crate....

a good rule of thumb that I've been using, whatever town just opened up to being able to do crates, do not go there.....go to the one just before it and than go to the farthest location you will net more money. so for example instead of sun haven go to Aithanahr to Kal Torhum which would be farther than Vhalgadim, or Miraleth to Vhalgadim/Kal torhum those are both better options.

Np, obivoulsy it also depends on your server and node development. But my last run from miraleth to Kal torhum with uncommon crates was just under 3g per crate for 3 crates.

One last piece of advice for you @grizzled relic and @timber kraken In the end, games these days especially in development games that are no where near finished and Sandbox MMO's at that are what you make of them. Games that are in alpha are expected to be buggy, incomplete, lacking plenty of systems, and all around kinda messy. The point is for us as players to test the systems they give us access to so that way they can either leave them in and just patch them if possible OR pull them and rework them as needed and maybe feed us another course of systems that need testing. That is the whole purpose of an Alpha test. Just be thankful you didn't play during pre alpha 2 or even barely alpha 1. You would have been way unhappier.

The best start you can do to your money is running a crate from town to town, Catching mounts is a VERY good money maker but you need alot of cash to roll the dice with the 50/50 burden or Mount and getting to that stage of the prof.

Some things u can do
Crates solid money.
Finding a Gatherable > Process profession that fits you and your location.
Doing buy orders and selling the tickets for crates (When buy orders start working again)
Going after JM gatherable heroic + materials

There are many factors to crate values, the prices fluctuates based on supply, demand, and rarity. If you only run the most heavily used route and starting/ending points then you're doing it wrong. The distance doesn't always win.

When playing this game in alpha state, I am under the impression that at any moment it could all be wiped and everything gone. Because they can wipe it whenever they want, and all your progress will disappear.

When something stupid happens, thats unintentional, like disconnecting on the edge of a server worker and losing 3 crates, it just doesn't get to me because im in the mindset of im just here to test everything and nothing has real value anyways.

Ive actually enjoyed the game way more thinking like this, I've made stupid mistakes, took much bigger risks, etc etc, its been real fun.

Did you try things like verifying game files integrity through steam or adding the AoC directory to your antivirus exceptions list? Have you successfully managed to play beforehand? 🙂 Do you PC specs match the minimum required ones?

You need to send a crash dump to them. I am not sure how you do that here but there should be some crash files in a folder that you can attach to a forum post to send to support.

I assume theyre working on a long term, more automated fix. So studying bots behaviour is quite important right now and during alpha is best time to do it.

I hope this is the case anyways, if im wrong more fool me, but if they just leave the bots forever with 0 intervention, ever, it will obviously kill the game.

Yeah I think its a fair point mate. But I am not a game dev or worked in game dev, I have 0 idea how long it would take to create something like this.

I can only assume its quite difficult. Considering every single mmo I've played has bots, and a lot of them.

I mean i logged onto runescape for the first time in a while and still absolutely riddled with bots, if not much worse then it used to be, and thats one of the longest standing games I know of personally. If they're struggling there I think intrepid will be too

i'm not saying it's applicable to intrepid - but i know there are certain companies that don't really try to fight bots seriously because of player activity numbers and sheer revenue in game purchases/subscriptions

basically turn it into a cat and mouse game, ban a wave of botters, they buy new accounts - you let them farm for a bit so they recoup, you do another ban wave rinse and repeat.. you can even use it for PR on how good of a job you're doing

we'll have to see what's being done - although i have basically zero faith that Steven is able to track all the botted/duped/RMT'd items at this point - that would be nothing short of a technological marvel

looks like you didnt grab the respawn either bud, yeah not much you can do by the looks. If people loot you, they go into combat so guards will probably get them, but speed is of the essense, get back quick!

I've had something similar happen to me once when I logged out in Joeva, where I was falling through the world for a good few minutes but it eventually fixed itself and I "landed" on soldi ground again in the city 😄 Not sure if your issue is similar though! 🙁
