how i fixed the async issue, mind you i am on windows 10 pro.. open command prompt, type ipconfig/release , then wait a sec or two for it to load everything to release the internet connection then type ipconfig/renew and at this point it should shoot you back to character select and you should be able ot log in... you have to do the release and renew while stuck on the async screen

there are gliding mounts coming for most people though but not true flight.

The info is vague atm. Flying is meant to be extremely restricted in the future. There are ground mounts (t1), gliding mounts (t2), and flying mounts (t3). The flying and gliding mounts will use the same skins. Right now any mayor gets a flying mount. Gliding mounts are not implemented. So while you can get them, not everyone can fly.

Sometimes a settlement can't improve. Level 4 is the highest. If that region with it's subregions are bound to a lower levels. So 1 lvl 4 town can only have 2 level 3 settlements below it if fully expanded region. So you wouldn't be able to level it and it will be stuck at 100%.

Cleric is not a dmg dealer. Yes it can do dmg but your dmg is magic. Magic power increases your magic dmg. All items you want magic stats. Int. Wisdom. Are you solo or grouping? Greatsword is nice for solo but it should be a magic one. For ranged book is good for groups.

I totally get it. I soloed many clerics over the last few phases. They are fine. Slower but fine. You will get more spells and it will start to feel better around lvl 12.

Clerics are solid. You can dps groups of 1-2 lower levels okay. Just have to find the right ones. Bears suck. Otters are ez. Spiders are ez. Minotaurs are tough. Ect ect. The type of mob matters. Gluck friend!

Just gonna leave this here in case i find a fix and someone else runs into it. First image is through steam launch and second image is through .exe launch. I sent a ticket in and have tried disabling av / firewall, checking for updates on drivers / windows and also reinstalled webview2 just in case to no resolve. I do not usually use a vpn and trying that didnt change anything so i am unsure what the issue is but i think it's clear something isn't installed right? Fully reinstalled game, verified files and removed local roaming files as well.

Maybe try watching a few videos on how to fix the crashes.
You can also delete the DirectX shader cache and the NVIDIA shader cache.
Set the power management mode to High Performance for the game.
Try capping your FPS to 60 / 90 / 120.
Make sure your drivers are up to date (especially chipset drivers from your motherboard manufacturer).
Do a clean GPU driver install using DDU.
Enable Fullscreen Optimizations and override high DPI scaling behavior.

Yes, once assigned to a settlement, that is its location for now. They only way to change it is to disband your guild and redo it all. Caution: Currently a 5 day cooldown on leaving and joining a new guild.

Are there any plans to reduce the amount of materials for some crafts. Some feel like they have way too much material. For example one bow take 177 dried date palm board and Joshua trees. To refine the Joshua tree is like 4 gold then the date palm is even more. Thats not even including the other materials u need. Might be just me but I feel like thats too much

For materials you can get the bags from vendors. They start at novice. Once your skills reach certain levels and you promote them you can buy the better bags (apprentice bag, journeyman bag). They can be made but I’m not knowledgeable about it as that’s not the professions I’m working on. But you can find them on the marketplace.

Shut off Discord (or at least shut off the new Overlay) and/or try running Fullscreen if you wanna’ keep a Discord overlay running at the same time. I say this especially if you’re running AMD hardware. It’s a known issue where Discord’s overlay mucks with caching and causes all sorts of suttering, frame drops, and other issues.

Also WoW is 21 years old. Ashes is on an still-being-optimized UE5 engine and is in Alpha testing. 🙂

But once I figured out the Discord overlay issue, I run everything on Epic/Ultra with Ultra Quality FSR, and it’s butter smooth visually (though textures can sometimes be slow to load in, but that’s I’m pretty sure an underlying server tech issue more than anything locally wrong with client performance)

Try closing Discord and running the game for a bit and see if your experience improves. If it does, then there are some Overlay-related settings you can mess with in Discord to adjust. I've been fighting this particular thing for the last couple of weeks now, so ... it's pretty fresh for me. 😅

It could always be some other issue, but ... it's been really consistent for me. I'm not sure that all games have the issue? UE5 games seem most prone, but I cna't tell if that's got anything to do with UE5, or ifi t's just the prevelance of UE5 in newer games over the last few years.

But for me, before I adjusted settings, game would run like poop. I'd minimize, close Discord, and then immediately notice game performance smooth out and be what I'd expect it to be (perfectly smooth). Relaunch Discord, watch gam performance drop back to a bad state. I could repeat this as much asI wnated and consistently get it to swing.

Right. Sorry. I guess what I meant is this: set your settings to how you'd normally want them to be, and then look for those specific kinds of settings and turn only those settings down to see if you can keep other things higher while keeping performance where you want it.

Shadows, lighting, distance, and newer stuff like raytracing (not in this game) are fairly burdensome for GPU's to manage. If you're dealing with older or lower-trim hardware, sometimes you can keep a lot of your settings higher if you specifically down-level those chonkiest settings to some lower setting to free up cycles and resources

Arguably, outside of what some of the newer GPU tech automatically enables/uses (eg, FSR etc.), if you're running the game at 1440p or 4K, you could probably turn off anti-aliasing, or turn it down. The higher the screen resolution, the finer the pixels at the edges of things are anyway, and so the less and less useful AA gets overall.

Settlements are what was referred to as "nodes" previously. They are player built up areas of content and contention. You should get a quest called I think it was "Safe, Secure, something...." that sends you out to your first settlement, thus "guiding you" to that content. Enjoy.

The queue is based on which server worker you logged out at. Server workers are basically tiny servers that make up the server you are on and are split in weird ways. To see the server worker you are on in game hit pgup. If y'all were next to each other then I have no clue and it's probably a bug
