So, I bought the game last night and have been playing at my native frame rate, perfectly fine then out of no where my game crashes and I can NOT get back into the game at all...

I even repaired the files

But like i REALLY cant get back in. If I make it past the initial loading screen which for some reason takes a long time now my game bricks at loading into the world

Once it hits the loading screen it freezes up

I'm on a PC more than capable of running the game and I installed on an SSD. Like I said I was playing fine for like 2 hours before this happened

usually this kind of mid-loading freeze crash has to do with an issue with a location.
like either a specific server is down (aoc servers are decentralized, basically the world is a grid of a ton of servers), and then it doesn't allow you to log in with characters there

@ember quail @thin stump just to clarify, you need Proton-GE, not normal Proton.
AFAIK people had issues with normal Proton. (It may or may not work.)

But with Proton-GE the game runs flawlessly.

Got some questions regarding pvp.
I know after lvl 10 it's fair game, you can be attacked or whatever.
But, what if I'm out questing and get killed do I get exp debt?
If I heal a party member that's being attacked unprovoked, do I get flagged?

if you don't fight back and they kill you, they go red(corrupted) and if killed can/will lose gear, like 1-3 pieces, maybe more depending on the corruption level, so penalty can be steep....then they have to get it removed, so unless they get someone they know to kill them and give them the gear back... since once red they can't remove it either...

You only lose gear if you yourself are corrupted (if you kill an innocent player, you turn red which is corrupted). If you're a non-combatant or a combatant you will never lose gear. Everyone loses a portion of the materials that they're carrying at that time on death such as Logs, Herbs, Ore, the amount changes depending on your flagging status.

You go into a small amount of XP debt when you die in both PvE or PvP

Embers currency is for the cosmetic cash shop after "live launch". The event on Dec 1st will have (possible, not confirmed) vendors that allow people to skip to max level and get various gear and mounts that will all be wiped after the event. The mount skin you may be asking about is the one the can be gained after getting to level 25 from fresh start on Dec 11th. The thing you get for logging in during Prod previous to the wipe is two titles that can be applied to your character at some future date when those options are implemented that change the color of a cloak that you get. Steam purchasers also get the cloak after Dec 11th, they just won't have those two titles to change the color.

3 pets oooh, How does it effect Tanks like the way the Duo-class system was described in a video I watched is your first class choice determines your skills and the then your second class choice Augments those skills, so If I pick Summoner then pick tank that's how in theory I should get the big tank like pet.

Does anyone know what happens if I do the reverse; Pick a Tank then take Summoner as a secondary class will it cause my Tank abilities to be summoned like a Summon a Shield.... the theory I can only imagine seems kind of underwhelming.

Why would you need dr on stuns lol it's Effect X lasts for Y seconds. You would only need to add dr to stuns when you start adding multiple layers to stun which is only found in the worst games.

Got it in one. Intrepid uses combinations from different players on different archetypes to adjust CC effects and debuffs. This not something new they adjusted from testing. It has been planned for years. As to whether you think it is worst or not, is subjective, but it is what you are going to get.

Immunity has nothing to do with DR. So basically the devs have no idea what Diminishing returns even are and are haphazardly using it as a buzzword which ultimately leads to the spread of false information.

Yes, there are 2 confirmed wipes so far:

  • 1 on the 11st with the Steam EA launch
  • 1 on the game launch (which is likely years away)

this doesn't mean that there won't be more wipes between these 2, but Intrepid is trying their best not to wipe unless it's absolutely necessary.

ok so it took me like 7 hours of patching and win update and resolving the game not launching and finally made it , so on gtx 1070 with 32gb ram and amd ryzen 9 3900X on low or medium outside the node I get 45-60 fps, unfortunately the city I went to was empty so the fps decreased just a bit , if there was a lot of people probably would get 10fps

They've explained their vision/outlook a few times with examples. If it remains the same and I am correct, it will be more of an augment onto original skills of the base class. I'm very confused by this. In the FAQ about the Steam launcher, when questioned about it playing only through Steam, it says: "No. You are not required to move to Steam at all. Existing Intrepid Account users can continue playtesting exactly as they always have. Nothing about your current access changes." And after that: "If you want to use Steam, you may add Ashes of Creation as a non-Steam title so you can launch it from your library, but to actually play through Steam, a Steam purchase is required."

PTR (actual current build) and Prod (lotharia and shol rn) are very different.
Having played both during the last few weeks, i do have no issues with smooth 140+ fps gameplay on PTR, but on empty Lotharia i can barely get 20 fps doesnt matter where i went.
Performance works best for me on ptr with latest nvidia driver.
I had hopes theyll update the Prod servers before their „event“ cause i thought itll be a harbinger teaser, but apparently they just gonna spawn some bosses so there might not be a game update today. For true current performance, wait until PTR is back up.

Yes, they have been working on stability and other optimization issues on PTR. The Prod client (Shol and Lotharia) are weeks old at version .16, have not been updated and wont be updated before they are wiped. Then we will have a week or so of more PTR, then new Prod servers on Steam release, at least two, probably more depending on demand and their metrics.

That's a personal choice that no one can make for you. We can have differing outlooks, priorities, and values.

Personally, I would. I really enjoyed using the ptr before the last phase when I was getting into the game as a bit of a sand box to test classes/gear and see what I wanted to play. Really nice being able to test everything at max level with boost vendors when they do ptr tests that warrant them.

It's a game in alpha. There will be future wipes. Personally, I think we'll get a wipe every three months as a realistic average, and I'll be happy to be wrong if we go longer.

definitely will NOT be a MONTHLY WIPE... the most PROBABLE based on PAST ITERATIONS will most likely be 3-4 month wipes... this is of course VERY varying depending on bugs/exploits found/reproduced, as well as active players, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: WHAT WE AS ACTIVE PLAYERS SAY/WANT!. The Alpha on Steam (Early Access) will only be available via purchase on the site or on Steam, right? How will this affect those of us with Beta keys? If we buy Steam access to the alpha, will we be able to keep it later for future alphas and betas? More serious answer. If you reach level 25 during early access from Dec 11th, you get a mount skin. Intrepid has said that going forward none of their skins offered or sold on the store are "exclusive" and may return at a future point as a promotion or for sale.
