PTR wipes a lot. It’s for testing different things.

Dec 11 will be fresh start alpha 2 live servers. For everyone. Those will have more permanence. But there is always the possibility of data being wiped as it is still an alpha. The goal is not to wipe of course but if Intrepid feels they need to for development then they may.

Have you installed to an internal SSD as the minimum spec requires? Are you using a VPN or not? Some of these are issues that people have found cause the communication errors with Intrepid.

Intrepid has given them in the past, but they tend to be more aspirational than effective. They have said the next milestone will work on current archetype balance and rework since they are all finally in, and the milestone after that will be when they start to introduce secondary archetypes, augments first pass, and possible level increase. Their milestones generally run two months, so you have a while to wait.

They are still barebones. Most of the latest focus has been on updating the FTUE in Riverlands to then roll those changes to Anvils (eventually). They are busy doing many things at once atm.

All 8 initial archetypes, all 8 Races (except the ninth, the tulnar), Guilds have a guild skill tree and guild storage. If you want to know something else specific let me know

I would like to know if all crafting is active, will housing and freehold be active, ships and any dungeons?

Crafting we have all 22 professions (although hunting and husbandry are very placeholder atm). Housing and freeholds are still to come. We have now 2 different ship types, a personal row boat, and some ship components (radar, cannons, harpoons, fish tanks) and we got some open seas fishing. Major dungeons we currently have 2, tower of carphin and befallen forge, but we also have a lot of other major and minor POIs

No instanced content atm. We have open world pvp with the corruption (alike a karma system), duel system, we have lawless zones (zones that become open pvp temporarily), we have node wars, guild wars and node sieges. Also the caravans system are an open-pvp event. Lastly we got the new harbinger story arc event which is a big pvx event with exclusive gathering materials and mobs and bosses and its open pvp on the zone

That is something you will have to decide for yourself. But they have been clear over the years, and as recently as yesterday that nothing during testing will be kept.

they haven't added racial traits yet so no. Pick whatever race you like. As for clas, I've recommend playing a few to lvl 10 and deciding. You've got plenty of time 🙂.

And when they do implement what they plan for "racials" it will not be based on the actual race, but a system they are calling Backgrounds. You can see it in the character creator as a placeholder system that does nothing currently. But basically, want to be a dwarf that grew up in a tree and as a bonus to picking flowers, go for it sort of thing.

current max level is 25. The game is not exactly about MSQs and questing to max level. There is quite a few quests but you'll have to mix quests with events and a bit of professions, comissions, grinding mobs to get to max level. There are a bunch of systems in the game, most related to the more sandbox part of the game. Depends on what you are interested in

It's still in the Alpha testing phase, it's just there's no option on Steam to label it as such, thus "early access" is what it's listed as. There'll be full total wipes as and when needed. Currently wipes have been roughly every 3-4~ months

How is the mob money drop? I get the economy is player driven, but would players be able to farm areas or do repeatable quests for decent money/gold?

There is world bosses that drop boss weapons/crafting mats. There is also relics that are stuff that have some conditions to drop and when it does you need to use a caravan to take it back to a node and put on its reliquary, to give buffs to all citizens. All good crafted gear requires emblems which drops from mobs. There is also treasure maps that drop that you can use to find some loot. There is more to come for sure after they add more systems.

In general gear drops are not supposed to be BiS, the game is supposed to rely a lot on crafting. But there is low tier gear drops from mobs, usually low rarity, and the main way to make money by grinding mobs is glint (game's money basically) and emblems

Rn, you get a drawing from the place and a general region it is, you go there, find the buried chest and use a crafted excavation kit to collect the chest

Prod servers when they are up (after Dec 11th now for a fresh start, with some minor weekend and event stuff planned till then) are meant to be as persistent as Intrepid can make them. But even then they may need to wipe when stuff goes sideways and they feel it is necessary. The PTR is focused testing that they often provide gear, level up npcs, and other specific things, that they dont want maybe for the next focused thing. So they wipe it. PTR is to help them with those goals and to mess around in. But remember, none of this will be kept for live launch, either Prod or PTR.

I had the same problem and found out u can solve it by adding Intrepid Launcher to Steam (via add non-steam game to ur library) and then made my own Controller layout via steams native controller layout. But you will have to make your own Keyboard -> Controller hotkey mapping for the game in the steam library

Even the alpha servers wipe occasionally. They don't want to and they try not to, but its not guaranteed it will not wipe (it probably will at some point). Nothing will be kept for launch except stuff like cosmetics and tester titles.

3. 8 ppl is a party, 40 ppl is a raid. Game has bosses for 8 ppl and for 40 ppl

PTR is a private test realm, it has a visual NDA and its where devs focus us to test something specific. It has frequent wipes and level boosts and free gear. Normal servers operate like a normal server, they test stuff like long term progression and player behavior. It wipes way less frequently.

They will wipe at the end of Alpha (and may wipe during the Alpha, as needed, though they try to avoid it).
They intend to also have Beta1 and Beta2 phases before release.

Find the storage person. There’s a tab to swap from item storage to materials storage. That’s where your wood should be.

Saw you ask a version of this yesterday and get kind of a troll answer. Nothing transfers on a wipe. You do not keep progression for a full wipe. The guy yesterday answer of "soft skills, like riding a bike" probably was his idea of knowing how combat works and muscle memory or how to craft and gather more efficiently having done it before. There has been a promised wipe of everything during testing before they "live launch" to avoid any sort of pesky "paid testing was P2W" issues. Beyond the Dec 11th fresh start there may be additional wipes in addition to that final one (my opinion, there will be)

Off the top of my head it is not. Intrepid was criticized for years of practicing FOMO in their cosmetic offerings and has been clear that going forward any cosmetics on offer in the store would not be "exclusive" or "one and done". Would be strange for that to not apply to promotional ones also. After looking at the post on their site, there is no "exclusive" language in the line about the Autumn Guardian, so if they wanted to give it away at a later date for something else, imagine they might.

Of Prod servers, there is an event around Dec 1st that will be the last time those servers are seen until the 11th, when they will return as fresh start. After Dec 1st you will have access to the PTR only. The PTR wipes often, sometimes daily based on the focused testing for that session they are doing. The Prod servers that come back fresh on the 11th (at least two confirmed, one for NA, one for EU, will probably be more spun up based on sales demand and requirements) are meant to "persistent" and only wipe when absolutely necessary as determined by Intrepid, with final wipe of them before any "live launch" at the end of testing.

If you are talking about Prod servers, Dec 11th and after is a "persistent" fresh start. Right now there is a mix of mainly PTR and occasional Prod (two more times before wipe) before that date. Either type is always up, either Prod or PTR, except of course for maint and updates. Realize that Intrepid often wipes the PTR, sometimes daily, but Prod servers are meant to be persistent, but may also experience wipes if development or large issues call for it.

Ive been watching videos of people that have put in serious time into the game, reading blogs and the such from multiple alpha phases and the general consensus is leveling solo is going to be so difficult that it will be the exact opposite of fun. Group play is awsome. However, eople wanna just chill and grind solo without being penalized for it also.

If xp isnt shared or diminished while in a group then group farming will be faster, for sure.

However, if solo xp is so terrible by comparison and people have to wait for groups or find them to get better xp rates then intrepid is 100% commiting to a path that will hurt its vision, sustainability and drive players away.

This is an easy fix. It'd be a huge misstep to mess something as simple as this up.

04:47: Login via Auth0 is successful
04:47: Streaming fails to start, connection times out
04:53: Login attempt repeated, same error occurs
04:58: Environment is reselected (Alpha Two / NDA)

3.Critical Errors
Timed out waiting for stream and session
Failed to get NDA status: Trying to call IsNdaSigned endpoint without valid connection/session
Failed to sign NDA: Must authenticate before accessing LauncherClient
Unexpected exception: The operation was canceled

4.Technical Issue Summary
Authentication (Auth0) is successful, but the session and streaming setup fails.
As a result, NDA-related processes cannot proceed and the user gets disconnected.

5.Possible Causes
-Server responses are not in the expected format (InvalidRequest error)
-NDA requests are attempted before session is fully established
-Session is not properly initialized before proceeding
-Streaming connection is interrupted prematurely

That's at least sort of a 'nearby' quest to the ones that were deliberately disabled. I'm not sure if that ones intentional or not. I'd say bug report it and let the devs sort it out.

Yes, tons compared to the live production realm which hasn't had an update since Nov 6th, and whatever they manage to get done before the steam launch between now and then on the PTR.
In the past two months of PTR changes (I don't want to sort out which bit of this made it into live) we've gained the Summoner, which is the last of the base Archetypes, A sort of first go at a new player tutorial in the form of the Destiny system, A new Sport Fishing system, new boat type, boat parts, Mules, ~400 new/fixed crafting recipes, ~500 rebalanced recipies, there are some new quests and some fixed quests, Ocean area extended, lots of bug fixes in all sorts of areas (The game is still very much not bug free), there are fixes in performance issues, mob pathing, terrain, duplication bugs, etc. There are still plenty of bugs, but it was worse ;p The Harbinger system, which I've heard some people refer to as a sort of 'current end game' content. ~29 new weapon models were added today. Tons of bug fixes, terrain fixes, etc

Make sure to up your concurrent downloads to 6 using the cog menu in the upper right corner if you haven't already.

PTR is where they do focused testing for what is coming. The Prod environment will stay at .16 with no changes before Dec 11th. Will wipe on Dec 1st (after the event) and will be PTR only till the 11th. The two new fresh start Prod servers will be released (at least two). So yes, you will have to make a new character for those.

Hello all. I'm having a problem with combat text. Was wondering if any found a fix? Its off to the right off the screen. I can set my UI scale to 120 and see it a bit but its really messing me up. I want to test armor and do PVP but I have no idea what kind of damage I'm doing with no combat text. I tried all the normal stuff and even uninstalled and deleted the folder and reinstalled. I reset to default, checks on off combat text, but nothing helps. I do have an ultra wide but 3 of my guildies have the same prob and 2 of them are on 16-9. I've written a few /bugs but nothing yet.

Depends on the content. Bard can heal ok. Warrior may have some difficulty holding aggro, but I’ve certainly seen both happen in certain environments

Repair but click the cog at the top right of the launcher and make sure the setting there is changed from 1 to 8

It defaults to limit how many channels the download can use to 1, cranking it up should improve patch time

There is meant to be an "overarching main quest line" from their previous statements, but mostly it is local to the settlements you start out in. You are a hero, not "the hero" in that narrative and it will utilize various POI that are planned in the world to avoid any glitches in a settlement not being the right level or destroyed as the next step in the chain. All stuff that is meant to come, but is not in yet. The next main focus is on their first world story arc with Harbingers atm.

Yes, two milestones from now. The have Harbingers to get out. Most development milestones for Intrepid are on two month tracks (though that has wiggle room). The milestone after Harbingers (so mid to late Jan start) is meant to be a focus on original archetype reworks. The one after that is class system, augment reveals, and possible level increase. Like anything else here those timelines are fluid and may be pushed for other development concerns.

Seems you got your login issues from yesterday sorted. Here is the next tip. Use the cog wheel in the upper right corner and set concurrent downloads to max (default is one, goes up to 6 I believe) and just let it run. The client will occasionally appear to be "hung" as it does large unpacks of files in the background. Walk away and come back in 5-10 minutes, if it still hasn't advanced try again. If that doesn't work, do a complete uninstall and try again. I know some and possibly many people are thinking this, but why $49.99 for steam? Players on steam will be getting persistent alpha and both betas until game releases. Plus some minor extras. I personally paid (Bought back in 2020 I believe) an exceeding amount to play all of alpha and betas, enjoyed phase 1-2.5 until the crafting was insanely botched. But my point is, why is it SO cheap compared to the phase keys? Like I am not the only one thinking this right?!? Plus they get a version of the Guardan Mount that I have. okay question, I bought into the ALPHA TWO THIRD WAVE BUNDLE on nov 13th as is clearer states on the website "Alpha Two Phase III testing has begun! During this phase, our realms will be open every day, and we'll only have downtime for updates and maintenance."

Notice the minimum specs for things like internal SSD, those that try this on low end machines often have problems and can't connect to servers with any reliability, then spend even more time complaining about how they can't connect. Good luck.
