The alpha testing is still ongoing. There have been multiple playthru's and testing of levelling. Currently the focus is PTR testing specific things, on an Alpha build that has many many changes/updates/fixes. There are no "live" alpha servers up at the moment.

Today there will be a livestream and there will likely be a bunch of information in there as well.

There's no p2w. There's no pay 2 convenience (teleport scrolls/xp scrolls in cash shop). Gear/mounts/buildings in cosmetic shop are skins that require you to have an item to put the skin on and then use that things stats. So a dragon cash shop skin requires you to have access to a flying/gliding mount to apply the skin to and uses the stats of the thing you apply it to. The game does have some pay 2 look good if you consider that 'winning' but also has chase cosmetics earnable in game that are meant to be the same quality/quantity.

Well, I feel much more comfortable knowing that Intrepid is the game's own publisher, unlike many other companies that release the game through other publishers... Knowing there's no intermediary makes it easier to deliver feedback and also to have direct contact, and I saw that Steve himself is here on Discord.

We don't have details on it. Intrepid intends to let people connect directly to them and play on the US/EU/OCE servers if they want to. Paying a localized price to the theoretical Brazilian publisher only lets you play on the theoretical Brazilian server though. Intrepid have described the localized areas as 'territories' so a publisher could maybe theoretically get access to multiple nearby countries (Maybe the theoretical Brazilian publisher gets access to other SA countries, but it's probably a different publisher that gets access to a theoretical 'Chinese' server).

While they have only confirmed NA and EU as Intrepid controlled self publishing, you can bet they will find other publishers that meet Steven's strict criteria for partnership. My best guess is they let the Steam store start, see if they get actual sales in the numbers they want and need, and if there is enough demand for a standalone OCE/SEA (they have flip/flopped over the years whether they will be located in Oz or Singapore is why they list together) then you might get it then. But for the start of Dec 11th? Yeah, I don't think so. But remember, I am just some guy bothering to answer questions on a Sunday while they sleep.

Nope, if you have Intrepid account, you buy through Intrepid. If you buy through Steam, you buy through Steam. If you buy through Steam, you will still use the Intrepid launcher for the game. You are just adding an extra step for yourself. You do not get a "Steam launcher"

They have a few times a year where they give away keys for access, but if you are waiting for some "free to test" option you are going to be disappointed. So, I don't know why you want to "play on Steam" but if you really have to, you will have to buy and register a seperate account as of information given so far. You would then have your Intrepid account and your Steam account. Launching through Steam does not get you a "Steam launcher" which seems to be todays hot topic. It just directs you to the regular Intrepid launcher. So you are just adding an extra step for yourself. This may be updated later this week.

There will be some events on A2 servers before Dec 1 and there may be rewards there as well.

If you are buying a key now, less than 30 days before the $50 EA Steam option is avail, just for cosmetics, then thats your call.

I would focus on PTR. But if you are new to the test, it will be a bit crazy since things are very specific and targeted. There will be wipes during the week and new builds, new things to test.

Since the only real diff is a cloak. Im not sure thats the best option for you, but that is up to you.

On Dec 11th, with the fresh servers, we expect to see the Harbinger (corruption zone) update, Sports Fishing, basic duel functionality (1v1)… and more.

They plan to do more testing on economy changes, class balance and gpu optimization before then… we should have a better idea what that 0.18 patch will look like as we get closer. I’m hopeful that they really nail the performance side of things before opening the doors to Steam.

The dual class system has been talked about, but not showcased - so I’d imagine that they are still months away.

Turn your global illumination down. That might help. I also find not running everything on ultra actually works better. It is not optimized yet so there is some playing with settings to get it right for you.

Nah adjust your global illumination down/shadows. lightning is always scuffed in this "game" but usually changing it from whatever you got to "low" seems to do the trick

When the game officially fully launches, the game transitions to a monthly sub game. The current packages and the package next month offers 1 month of sub time at release, meaning you won't have to pay anything for the first month of launch (whenever that is)

You must make sure EAC is running tho, or you risk getting banned (you can run the game without EAC on linux and it won't kick you out or anything, but it will ban you so you gotta know what you're doing). I think if you try plug and play on linux the game runs without EAC by default
