Prod testing environment is up right now. It goes down occasionally for updates and patches. There is not one as of typing this. The PTR environment is as Intrepid needs and schedules, that is less frequently used and has no guaranteed uptime. Make sure in the dropdown menu on the launcher you have the correct one selected.

The "forgot/want to change my password" feature has been broken for years here. You will end up having to file a ticket with CS to get it sorted. You may not like it, but it is what it is.

I know it may sound condescending, but make sure to check spam folders and any other places it may have gone. Once you do get one from Intrepid, make sure to whitelist them, cause their monthly update emails have been reported by many to get flagged as such. CS here is pretty good and their response time is usually around 3 days except under periods of heavy load (around large updates, end of year when most of the studio goes on vacation, so on). They eventually will get you sorted, it just takes time.

They have 7 day a week CS now, but it is only a single person on the weekend and there are only 3 of them. (they task other developers during heavy load to help out)

Second archetype and class testing is meant to happen after an early archetype rework. Since that is scheduled for after Harbingers, and milestones are generally two months here, you are looking at possibly a level increase and testing on augments and class mechanics the one after that. Yes, testing on the regular servers is 24/7 right now, but realize it is a testing client and not a game. You will not be playing as more dealing with broken systems and mechanics. Knowing that, make an account, buy a package from the website, and you get access to all further testing till release, and a month of sub time after release. The servers go down for a daily restart that takes minutes, but also go down for patches and updates as needed also. But generally, like any mmo, they are up. Wipes can and will occur. With a final wipe before release.

They have not indicated in any way any one thing that is coming in a Harbingers patch. Most assume that their pet want is being worked on is the reason for the delay of the livestream for a week. Any thing that has YOU "excited" has become the new speculation as to what is coming on the 18th. Until someone from Intrepid confirms that Nov 18th is still the date that they plan to release Harbingers and what is included in it for that release, it is all just people wishlisting.

Nothing on a price reduction has been confirmed by Intrepid. That rumor came from Nyce who put in the end of a video that he had "talked with someone inside Intrepid that there probably will be a reduction for the Harbingers release." So until you see someone from them say it or announce, it is just that, a rumor from a content creator citing unknown sources.

Question. Maybe it’s just a bug. So I paid the 100$, I got the game. I tried installing and uninstalling the game. A few issues happened.

So first, I know for a fact I have enough memory for the game. But when I try to download the game to my pc it says to free up more storage.

Second, I know my pc can run the game. But when I try to run the game on my external hard drive, it tells me “Directx12 needed to run game” even though I have direct x12, it won’t let me play? Is there any way to fix this? I haven’t been able to play

That means you cant install it to your external drive. It has to be on an internal SSD. If you have a newish computer, it probably came with one that is labelled C. That is the one you want. Make sure it has at least 200GB storage available. I know it says 100, but during the initial install it unpacks stuff and uses more than that, some have reported upwards of 150 or more. The install once you get it to go will sometimes appear "hung", give it like 5 to 10 min to start advancing again. If it doesn't, then uninstall and try again. Good luck.

I can’t speak to that. I crafted it successfully last phase before those changes to crafting. Have you learned the recipe? It is a unique recipe you have to find.

If you have, I’m assuming you are correct and you need a grandmaster weaponsmithing station.

According to Ashescodex, it is item lvl 27. 26 is master and 29 is grandmaster for weapons so I’m assuming 27 is likely grandmaster as well.

You need to process glittering steel in the Befallen Forge. I’m not sure if they’ve added crafting to inside the dungeon as well. Last phase I crafted the pickaxe at a normal bench in Joeva, but things have changed.

Go to Mother’s rest where you spoke to the ghost. Gather a lot of that plant behind the mortar and pestle. Gather some oil or whatever it is from the skeletons in the area. And use that mortar and pestle to make the oils to trace.

Then you’re able to trace the white seals (about ~8?)

In the Launcher go to Options. There click on Game and tick both boxes there and save. Check each time there you start the Launcher before oyu start the game. These two settings helped me with this particular Crash. If your game is running already and you set these then restart the game afterwards

When I joined at the beginning of Sept the population seemed fine. We had several Node wars since then and there are a lot of offers for eq at least in global chat. It just got quite calm in the last couple of days. Its really hard to imagine how the state develops in case of an wipe.

Bit hypocritical coming from a WoW player 500 employees but every expac is the same thing recycled. 21 years to add housing which ne most new MMOs have had for the last 28 years

30-40 Million dollars to get work done at this pace is horrible. Little to no correlation to WoW, but since you brought that up the entire development for release of the initial game was around 60mil and took 5 years. Also, AoC wouldn't exist without WoW, someone had to pave the way. It's just the insight from someone who looks at ROI and labor hours everyday. if that number is true, thats a tone of money for little progress.

Games were easier, cheaper, and quicker back then. SquareSoft released Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9, and 10 in a 4 year timeframe (1997-2001), nowadays it takes them double that to release 1 mainline (FF15 - 2016, FF16 - 2023). If a game released like WoW did back in 2004 it would die in a week.

Plus, probably incorrect on the "AoC wouldn't exist without WoW" seeing as the CEO never liked/played WoW. He played Lineage 2 > Aion > ArcheAge predominantly, and ArcheAges demise was what caused him to make Ashes

Gold sellers give me no hope to play this game regularly.

HorizonXI private server tracks MAC addresses in order to ensure a fair play environment and to remove RMT from their game. They will only keep this address when it’s necessary and delete it afterwards.

We need a fair play environment. Gold can be purchased this very second on a ton of websites and this is unbecoming for the future of this game.

I like this game a lot but gold sellers will kill it for me. The player base feels like it has more gold sellers than players.
Gold sellers can take over a city, delete master stations, then sell master made items at a premium price because they have gate kept the server from progress to scam more money out of the player base.

I am really curious on the details about the Shol/ lotharia realms being down to focus on PTR. How long is PTR going to be up, typical work day or longer? So after work time the realms will be up. Or weeks?

My husband and I can not focus on PTR due to space on computer. And the daily wipes for the ptr we just can’t do/ and time. We also have our Individual goals on Shol realm. Really looking forward to hearing more details hopefully soon. Especially since I know other are in the same boat.

What I found that works, is by moving my character out of town then headed back in. Example I log into joeva but my market guy is gone I will just go beyond the walls of joeva (say hi to the wizard guards) and run back to the market and usually, usually he is there again.

The last information given is Nov 18th. Intrepid has a long history on not hitting dates given so most of those here realize that any date given is aspirational, not reality. Since the end of October livestream has been pushed twice now there will most likely be an update to that plan when they finally do stream. The announcement of closing the Prod servers to force everyone who is still bothering to test onto PTR tends to support that stuff planned for "Harbingers" is not ready and won't be for a while.

PTR is more of a pure focused testing environment. Depending on Intrepid's needs they may or may not provide different mechanics like auto level to a certain point, resources, gear or other "free" stuff to achieve that. Until they do the announcement for that day, you won't know. And wipes of everything are frequent.

When you craft sand, there’s a chance to get other ores, but I think the drop chance isn’t working correctly. In the first image, no ore drops at all, but in the second one, it only drops copper — and the amount is exactly the same as the number of rocks I processed. So it seems like the chance is applied to the total amount of rocks, not to each individual rock.

The addition of lawless zones was part of development cycle. When they plop down a new area, it is lacking in content, so they made them lawless till they add stuff. The deep ocean is meant to be lawless. The rotating lawless POI mechanic is an "addition" that they added to give people something to do. It will be tweaked and refined to bring it more in line with what they envision for "risk v reward." Destroyed settlements, while in testing will be frequent, will be much less so on a "live" server. Corruption events, like Harbingers, are epic storylines that will not be happening all the time either. This is just testing. Give you feedback once you touch it on what you do or don't like, and maybe they will change things. Or they won't.

be aware this is an alpha, not an early access, not a released game, it's an environment full of bugs and things that are still on a placeholder state. The game is still far from release date. if you didn't already, please research a bit before joining.

That being said, yes, the bundle gives you access to the current alpha which is a 24/7 server (with daily restarts, down time for updates which sometimes take up to 4-5 hrs), PTR - which server where they test stuff before hiting A2 server, Beta 1 and Beta 2 access, 1 month of game access when it will release + some ingame curency for cosmetics.

No. Currently when Prod servers are up there is a NA and EU region. At launch they have said there will be NA, EU and OCE/SEA servers for region. I had some mild success with aggressive framerate limits on the NVIDIA app targeting the AOC executable. This has been going on since the UE upgrade before Phase 3 and there's tons of reports in the alpha bug threads. I'd previously completely resolved this by pinning to driver version 577.00 but needed to upgrade for other games so don't see that as a long term solution. Ultimately this is something intrepid need to fix at their end. Id encourage @heady pulsar to make sure GPU dump logs are enabled in the launcher and to submit those logs on crash to Intrepid via a support ticket.

Only? No, but I wouldn't say the questlines are fleshed out either. There are you handful of beginning lvl 1-10ish quests but after that they're pretty spotty and you have to find them because there aren't too many of your traditional theme park mmo quest hubs. Not saying that's a bad thing, but that's what it is right now.

There was an unconfirmed rumor put out by a content creator that they had an "inside source" at Intrepid that there would probably be a price decrease with the Harbinger update release on the 18th. It was never mentioned or confirmed by Intrepid. If you are worried about it, just wait till after the next livestream in a couple days. Either they will announce it then or it isn't happening. Or if you want to deal with the headache of it, buy now, and refund when the price drops in a few days. Intrepid has a very liberal return policy of 90 days as long as you were not banned for exploiting or other bad stuff.

Very subjective question, everyone has different opinions, some will tell you game is shit, others will tell you it has problems but still can have fun.
In terms of buying access, you are not late, you ca still buy a key, but I would wait till tomorrow’s dev stream to see if any changes in price.
For the servers, the team is preparing a bigger update and needs testing from everyone, so, they have closed the Live servers to kinda force as many as possible to go on the test server so that we can avoid as much as possible bringing bugs/exploits into the live servers. They haven’t provided a date, when servers will come up again, but PTR will probably be live till Friday at least.

So, wait till tomorrow to see if any changes in price, buy access, then you can test for 90 days and if you don’t enjoy the state of the game or you don’t enjoy reporting bugs, you can ask for a refund, they are pretty cool on this aspect

Also make sure to understand, while you can have some fun in the current state of the game, there are a lot of bugs, a lot of placeholder systems and a lot of missing features. This is not a finished game, or an Early Access, this is rough path where even a lot of very motivated ppl found their end 😄
