You can look under settings to set your weapon to continue auto attacking. If you have melee equipped you have to be in melee range. If you are using ranged, it will fill in with autoattacks as things run up to you. Try wand or book as mage, since they fit that playstyle, you can use whatever you want however. Q is to swap between equipped weapons. Tryol told you to follow the steps in the ReadMeFirst, but your A2 tags are still not showing. Either do the linking step again to gain access to the rest of the Discord, or if you already tried, do it again till it sticks. Sometimes takes a couple times. Good luck.

It benefits. From my experience all games have it and is easier to make parties i dont think to make 1 channel would be so hard for the community , then who wants to use it does it and who doesnt does not

There are already a lot of channels here so there has to be a good reason to add one. A good reason being a clear significant benefit over the in game LFG chat. Having 2 places to post makes people either have to post their msg twice or it makes it so the pool of players looking at the messages is smaller since some players will only go to one of the two places. Both of these are negative impacts of adding the channel.

If you want, make a thread in #1365494991509782558 and get a lot of other players to support and the CM team can evaluate the option.

While you may not enjoy the current system or think it should be changed, they most likely won't give more dev time to placeholder systems, instead work on what is meant to be implemented later.

I was wondering if there are any plans to address the recent drop rate changes. Right now it feels almost impossible to farm gear compared to before, and players who managed to equip themselves earlier don’t have the same struggle. Is the team considering any adjustments to make it more balanced?

The changes to drop rates was in response to people exploiting broken event mechanics in certain "farm spots" for best gear. Once Intrepid makes changes to those systems they will adjust drop rates to what they intend. Turning them back on would just repeat a problem they have already identified.

It’s a mix.
There is a percent proc chance to get something other than common.
Some gatherables have visual tells that when correctly identified will always give green or better (pale daffodils as an example)
The rarity spawns of gatherables are also static so if you find a tree that gives blue it will always give blue when it respawns.
There is also cluster rarity where sometimes every node of that type in its vicinity will also be the same rarity.

Ummm, just a suggestion and might not get you a resolution. But usually when the server shows you "quest complete" you are going to need to be reset by a GM in game. If you are truly worried about that quest then file a CS ticket and explain what has gone on. Make sure to /bug it in game too, though that is more a player action than a systems broken bug. You said you chose to delete the crate and delete the quest, so that is how I read it.

ye i did /bug. So what I did was this...
I was lost, not knowing what to do.
So, I was dragging the item (training crate) to the character (C), and a window (cancel) (delete) appeared, but at the time, I didn't read the delete. I thought it was like (accept to equip the item). I just clicked it. When I realized, I had deleted the item. So, I went to the NPC and he had no other option to get another crate. I automatically thought, "If I delete the quest and get it again, he will give me a new crate." I did that, and it didn't work. He says I have to equip the training crate and look in my inventory to see if I have it, but I don't have it and I don't know where to get another one.

Yep, that is the introductory quest to show you how crates work. In the future you will have to craft your own and run them. It can be skipped. Others may have mentioned. Intrepid's launcher is not optimized and their unpack operations on the files in the background may make the launcher appear "stuck" for minutes at a time. If nothing advances for around 5-10 min, then restart. But other than that, especially in the case of a large update or initial install, it just takes a long time and uses almost all your resources. Good luck. We have all been there at some point.

Ashes of Creation currently doesn't have any instanced dungeons/raids. It will eventually but they'll mostly be used for narrative purposes and there won't be many. It's predominantly an open-world focused game.

Ashes is massively different than WoW. It's currently heavily group based, you'd struggle to progress at all solo. It's still early in alpha, so it's likely you would not enjoy it at atm unless you had a guild to run with

The other day, I (lvl 14) was mining a slate node in the Winstead node. A lvl 25 came up to me, flagged for pvp, stunned me, then started mining the slate node that I was mining. This means he can steal my resources and stop attacking me so as to not go corrupt.

This meant that I have two choices.

1. Turn on pvp myself and compete for the slate node (But guaranteed to die because of being under leveled)
2. Walk away and hope he doesn't repeat this on future nodes that I mine.

Is being able to 'bully' lower levels off of resources an intended part of the pvp system? Or is there work being done to prevent this from happening

Some Rogue abilities have been reported and a favorite tactic atm is using a push that still works on afk players while fishing to get them to drown and take their stuff. Just report it when it happens with all the data you can give them. The more they see it, the easier it will be for them to get it whatever state they intend.

got it, thanks. yes i saw all the possible outcomes in the crafting menu, but only tested it once. i put in 50 sandstone blocks and got sand and coal for the outcome. i was disappointed because i assumed each block had a chance to proc, not the whole stack.
if the possibility for ore is based on the type of block used, then the crafting menu is misleading because it lists every ore as a possible outcome
and i dont know if there is an ore associated with sandstone, the way there is for basalt -> copper, granite -> zinc. if not then maybe it will always produce coal? idk im still learning

Sandstone can get both copper and zinc. The processing turning into sand is unfortunately by batch currently. So if it procs the metal it will be the same quantity and rarity as what you put in like you saw with the coal.

I've found the main way is to level a profession and sell the things you make. before level 10 doesn't make any money. But after that, your products are harder for others to create so they start to sell for a profit.

ie: I main animal husbandry. Its a mega money pit for the first 10 levels, but once level 10 it will be more profitable because not as many others have done that

It's partially a you problem. Put in a bug report with your computer specs and your Internet connection specs. I would turn on the FPS meter as well. Perhaps lower graphics settings. Plus this is ALPHA. I imagine servers, load and all will be improved by beta and then launch. Saying an Alpha game is broken is like complaining about the draft in a house with unfinished walls

My experience has been any item will be the lowest rarity used in the creation, but I haven't used dramatically different rarities to test it.

crafting uses a breakpoint points system. each slot (and to a lesser extent each item in that slot if multiple are needed) add to the quality of the item being crafted. use all green, it will come out green. toss in a blue at it will still be green, but better stats than a normal green. Toss in a legendary and the result might be blue or yellow.

gathering tools might be a bit bugged, but stacking quality rating from gear and node buffs help too. and eventually people will be able to craft green gear with common white material stacking enough passive qual bonuses

Basic materials? Most mobs don't drop materials other than emblems and the specific named mob materials. If you mean gear, the more stars the better the chance, but it is still only like 2% chance for most 3stars

Gotcha. Yeah emblems are finicky to understand the drop rate from my experience. Has felt like the chances are better when you are the same level as the mob

Can someone who is doing Alchemy explain to me how it is a viable profession to level? I don't see a serious revenue path. Pots are more expensive to make than buy at a vendor.

I think some recipes are bugged. Most processing professions need to be apprentice+ to get to the point where you're providing value to others

Still doesn't change his explanation. They are more worried about making things actually work atm that whether it is balanced from a profit/loss perspective atm. Test it out. See it you can make stuff. Report stuff that doesn't work. You are not keeping anything anyway. Eventually once they have things working right, then they will go back and do cost vs profit balances.

I know the vendor has them, but I would report that as a bug. I believe their intent was to take all of that off but missed some. I'm not too sure how to make money for alchemy but if you're also doing arcane engineering, they do feed into that which can make money

Right, Magic powder, etc. I think the reason I ask is that most other professions have a revenue stream behind them because they are a major requirement of some kind of item in large quantity, for example metalworking makes frags which can be used for weapons and armor, weaving makes threads which are used in Medium and Light armor.

The problem is that alchemy isn't really viable in this way and without potions its basically a dead profession save for magic powder for wands and focuses or ink for scrolls. I think there should be cool potions for a potion master personally

It'll always matter, but the % importance may be smaller than other games. It's also about the type of build you want to go for. More crit, more attack speed, more defense, etc

Ashescodex has all items in game, you can filter by weapon type and review their stats

Generally daggers will likely be the best weapon for rogues, but if you have a much stronger 2h, it might be better for you

I can’t type in general because I haven’t linked my account but wanted to share about fresh start/wipe. Imo the servers need wiped to get accurate data going forward however I don’t think fully wiping will be good either. I think it should just be an item wipe. You can keep towns/nodes you can keep gathering/crafting xp/level but all banks and gear is wiped. Test what the economy will be like with dynamic gathering, test different drop rates, but don’t wipe progress on things that aren’t being tested to keep people happy from losing all progress this phase.

You should always pick them up, I typically did them in any travel or downtime. Exploration ones are free xp and money when you’re already traveling to get somewhere
