There are the gathering bags, which are smaller in layout size but can have much bigger stacks. Ex. 20 wood in a normal bag 43 in a Lumberjack bag.

I think you're right, if I approach the PvP zone in Windstead (where I logged in) the rubber banding is awful, as I walk away it progressively gets better until it stops once clear.

They shouldn’t be able to interrupt your harvest. If you didn’t move at all and their atk caused you to stop gathering, report that as a bug. However, npc’s can interrupt you from gathering.

There are pros and cons of where you become a citizen. They have slightly different gear available for citizen currency, the capes being the main thing to check (If things have changed with this phase, I havn't noticed yet for all of this advice). You can get a better material processing rate as the citizen of a node, so having a profession that matches the processing benches of the node is a good idea. Nodes get buffs activated for them from citizens doing quests at the node (stuff like 5% bonus adventuring xp, 5% bonus crafting xp, 1% less shadow damage taken) and citizens get double benefit from those buffs while at their home node.

Assuming it works like regular crafting, it’s all based on quality rating. Theoretically, using all heroic mats will at least net you a heroic crate. Each rarity has its own weight value for the breakpoints of the next tier. Mixing material quality can provide a middle ground final rarity depending. Buffing yourself with food gear or node bonus to quality will also help.

Theoretically it should eventually be possible for a master crafter maxing out rarity buffs to get uncommon or better from all common materials

Remember it is an ALPHA. The south has an easier starting experience. Try that, when you hit level 3 or 4 Start a character in the North level to 3 or 4. Then pick a path.

It is the southern newbie area. Lionhold is the Castle in Riverland. Like Hammer Rest is the Dwarf Castle in Anvils.

Processing and sub combine experience is higher with better quality but the final crafting combine I think does not matter. Also gathering XP is influenced by the quality of what you pull.

You can test with whites or greens easily and cheaply.

Winstead has all crafting stations apprentice. If you are a citizen you have 2 huge storage places AND you can pack materials in Storage Crates and put these in the extra Crate Storage.

No. The node wll roll rarity after you harvest it. If you can't fit the material in your bag it will glow with the rarity color. So if the ground glows that reddish brown, you throw something out and collect that Legendary!

You can do a quest, out of Lionshold, called Safe Fast Secure. That will give you 3 pieces of green gear. Chest, pants, boots.

Are you in the Anvils? If you are, I recommend either running down to riverlands, or startinga new toon tbh.

Consider the white con animal a moving node. Get close when the little white circle appears and you align the press f appears ( your hunting bow must be equipped on your artisan character tab). Could be any number of things. Someone may have drug a mob onto the farms. They have gotten some thing where guards will take care of stuff, or the mobs become into a state where they are not interactable. Or someone may have decided you just needed killing while afk and were willing to take the corruption hit. There are almost no "safe areas" planned for Ashes to afk in. There is limited protection from pvp actions till level 5 in the starter areas, and some possible safety around embersprings from the guards, also not perfect. The only place would be inside your house, but since housing is not in game....

No, anyone can start at any starter zone. There are just specific NPC responses planned if say you are an elf starting in the dwarf area, they may be a bit rude to you. Race is purely cosmetic. Backgrounds is the system they plan for "racial bonuses" which are in character creation, but have no bonuses implemented yet. Want to be a dwarf that grew up in a tree? Go for it for the herbalism bonus sort of thing. @quasi latch

It just happened to me as well. It seems this happens when there are a lot of people. I can see in your screen there is quite a crowd as well. And I think the SSD or PC is not capable of loading stuff fast enough, so either the skybox or skylight doesnt load fast enough. In my experience, the recipe was learned, but not propagating to the table… trying to learn the recipe again won’t help (it’ll likely not get consumed)

When they eventually got around to fixing the broken recipes, they just showed up on the table for me. It might take awhile.

There is a quest from lionshold. It’s back in starter area. It will give you 3 pieces of green gear. It’s called safe. Fast. Secure. Worth doing.

Lvl 5 you can still get commission quests from the town you are around and also from noob lands like lionshold. They give decent exp.

Start farming materials. Trees. Rocks. Flowers. Chop chop. You can make gear and weapons with some work and time. The stations best to use are also south towards lionshold. look for silver diamond map markers. There are stations like agriculture supply or lumber mill. Process mats and make gear. Also decent exp.

But mostly lots of mob killin :).

Around lvl 7 head over to the church of seven stars and find a ground. Ez levels to 10. It’s south west of lionshold

from my understanding and what ive been told from others you need to find a apprentice station to make the adept gear but you still need the certs to upgrade out of novice. Some of the novice gear has certain requirments for the location of the crafting table. I still haven't figured out what "Wilderness" is. I've tried looking at a novice station at a settlement thats at r2 but to no avail the recipe didn't appear in the station. Going to double check again in Vhalgadim. It has an armorsmith table but its only novice

So in the Intrepid Studios Launcher you can go into the options (cogwheel top-right corner) and then go to the 'Game' setting. There you can do a full crash debug on the GPU or full crash dumps.

I did a full crash dump and these files became huge. Up to 22GB per crash. It does very from 1GB to 22GB every time. But it was eating up my C-drive.

So the questions I have are:

• Can I make these dumps on a other driver?
• Are these dumps being uploaded to help?
• Are they needed if only they are stored on my local drive? Because I do all my bug reports ingame.

I don't mind sending a file like that, but most likely they are to big to be accepted.

Edit: My launcher is installed on a different drive, not the C-drive. I also dissabled the extensive dump file now.

I don't believe those logs are included in /bug reports. I believe they're for debugging issues. Not sure of a way to get them on a different drive. Unless you're having a specific issue you want investigated, free up that space.

The rest gets sunk, and a portion is put into the treasure pile to be fought in over the week long lawless battleground after. This is nowhere near being tested and might be several months before you have to worry about it.

If you press the p key it will open the artisanship menu with all the life skills. Under the Crafting area if you look in carpentry you will see all the bow recipes you have learned, this is the same for the other crafting skills. You must learn a recipe to craft it yes. ❤️

That's really interesting. Has the game ever worked for you? If so, I'd start with cleaning the game cache(click the gear icon top right of the launcher) and if that doesn't work then do a complete uninstall and reinstall. I'd recommend deleting ashes related files in the %appdata% files, but doing this will also mean you need to rebind anything you've changed.

The novice artisan shirts are made by tailoring. The recipes all involve weaving flax into linen, processing grem into skin, and a 3rd ingredient specific to the shirt. You can buy the recipe for each shirt at Avons End or Bonfire (I imagine they’d be available at a node if they build the weaver/tailor building).

Speed for any gathering profession doesn't make each gather go faster or make your tool move faster. It gives you a chance to need less ticks when gathering something. Say a normal adult tree takes 8 swings, having some speed would give you a chance to only need 7 swings

For most things you need to learn the recipe before you can craft, a lot of recipes are currently bugged though and not actually craftable after learning the recipe. I’m new so I don’t know the best place to find the recipe.

Therer are one use recipes as well, that you can't learn, but if you are at the proper crafting station you can craft it and consume the recipe.

They should call them like tempalte with a note that says consumed on use. Instead of giving you a you can't learn it message. It's confusing.

Hunting is a placeholder system that in no way resembles what is coming. They put a minimal effort into it as they could to get it running for this testing. It is fluff, meant to give you something to do, so you keep logging in and giving that sweet data by running across server boundaries. I would not be too invested in something that is going to change radically when they get around to putting it in.
