no, only to move them, and using caravans to transport isnt really safe unless you have a big escort. you are better off just being your own pack mule

Totally understand your situation. Sadly, Ashes of Creation doesn’t currently have regional pricing, so the price is the same globally, which makes it tough for players in countries with weaker currencies. Intrepid hasn’t announced any plans for regional pricing adjustments, but a lot of players from different regions have raised this concern, so hopefully they will consider it in the future. For now, the only option is to wait for possible changes or later phases like Beta, where there might be other access options. If not You have to wait the final release.

You’re often the one leading the group, positioning the boss, keeping aggro, and reacting fast to mechanics. Plus, when things go wrong, tanks usually get the blame first. Or solo play/leveling can be so hard.

But on the bright side, it’s also one of the most rewarding roles in the last level, you get to control the flow of the fight, protect your team, and feel like a true leader.

If you take it step by step and have a chill group, it gets way more fun and less stressful over time.

your best bet is youtube but not sure if anyone has made comprehensive guide, even if there is one, there will likely be changes upcoming the next week or two. I would say just look at youtube to get a general idea, then trying it out in game to explore more over time.

Some professions are a lot easier (carpentry) than others to level. Make sure you have citizenship, and do your crafting when the bandit pacification buff is up as this provides 100% bonus xp. It is currently best practice to just grind t1 items even when you get to apprentice.

Well, according to European time, they turned off on Tuesday at 9-10 am and turned on at about 11 pm, and it turns out that their cycle is not 5 days but 4 days.

May 1st was a server wipe and alpha phase 2 extension to give em more time to get the pieces in place for phase 3 launch on Aug 4th.

There have been several significant patches since early December (first iteration of naval content, turquoise sea zone, Jundark zone, rogue release, deconstruction system, tempering system).

Lots of progress, but also lots of work to be done.

Mmm is complicated... lets say that Damage Penetration (Pen) reduces the effective armor or mitigation of the target, not the damage directly.
Armor and mitigation reduce incoming damage based on their type (physical, magical, etc.).
It's not fully confirmed if it's a straight subtraction or a scaling formula (since they’re still adjusting systems in Alpha), but it’s not as simple as flat subtraction like in older MMOs.

The formula is still evolving, but currently it seems closer to:
Effective Damage = Base Damage × (1 - (Effective Mitigation after Penetration))

Where:

Penetration reduces target’s mitigation by a percentage or flat value (depending on skill/stats).

They didn’t share PTR notes with testers this time around. The upcoming patch is an economy patch, but not all the features are available to test. They are currently focused on resolving some crashing issues and wanted to get that build in front of PTR testers to gather more data and logs.

There's quite a bit of content in the game with more coming regularly, but our Alpha isn't intended to be an 'early release' experience. Instead, we're using this time to test out features and work with the community to develop game systems, so if you don't enjoy that sort of thing you may wish to wait a little bit. The Alpha and Beta phases are intentionally quite long, so you have quite a bit of time to get value out of your purchase if you do decide to join us. 🍻

Lots of systems are present, but need further iteration.
There’s naval stuff, but only one type of ship.
There’s gathering/processing/crafting which is currently in the process of being tweaked.
There’s two major dungeons (tower of carphin and befallen forge) and a bunch of smaller POIs.
All classes but Summoner are available to test at the moment, and all will be going under reworks as they iterate on the skills systems.
There’s guild wars, node wars, and they are currently working on developing node sieges in their lower development branches.

Ashes has more skill effect combinations, and feels better than warhammer online combat to me (though it’s been awhile).

Steven recently revealed that one of their combat devs is working through the class skill trees (starting with cleric) to have “ranks per active abilities” - which made me think of some of the better parts of shadowbane and build diversity.

They’ve got a ways to go to truly get different specs per class, but they’ve been taking promising steps in that direction.

Nope, servers down, no download available. You can get the launcher, but the client requires the server to be up with the latest testing client. Since they don't push that to the server till just before it comes up, you would be just have to download it again anyways.

theres something called the "corruption system" where basically if you kill people who arent flagged for pvp, you get punished with corruption. if you get corrupted, you get marked on other player's maps, are basically force flagged for pvp, can't unequip gear or drop off materials in storage until you grind off the corruption you gained through killing mobs and gathering stuff

and also like i said before, if you are corrupted your equipped gear can drop which can't happen normally

basically its a punishment for attacking and killing non-pvp-flagged players by making you a target

Enchanting is actually quite straightforward. You select an item and upgrade it using a few required enchanting materials. If you're lucky, the upgrade succeeds (the risks and success rates vary depending on the current level), and each of the item's existing bonuses gets a +1 increase. And scribes write the scrolls^^

Ah dang, I wanted to try out ranger and transfer my gear from my level 9 rogue to make the process abit faster. But i dont have any friends playing this game.. So i have to grind it out i guess !

The game is using way more CPU and GPU now and I've turned all settings to the lowest. It holds my CPU at 100% solid now where before I would hold around 70 to 80%. I'm on an i7-8700K w/ 3080ti at 80% load. Also I have a family member with an AMD Ryzen 7 7700X and RTX 4070 Super and last week on medium settings it was around 40% CPU and GPU. Today on Low settings it's 70% CPU and 90% GPU. Somethings changed and eating mad resources. GPU wise my 3080 Ti is 80% load while the AMD system 7700X system has a 4070 Super and it's 90% GPU load on medium settings. Why is the game running so heavy now? - Update: I cannot load into the game. It gives a timeout message and closes the game. The higher end AMD system can load into game but it's running super slow.

Hello Serendipity, that’s been happening to some players, especially during server stress or maintenance windows.
Most of the time it’s server side or connection related, not really your fault. You can try restarting the launcher, router, check Your ISP ping, sometimes that clears it up.
It’s pretty common during Alpha, so hopefully it’s just a temporary thing. Same happened to me a few days ago too. BTW cool name.

No problem - If you are having actual temperature issues, I would recommend opening up your system, cleaning out the fans. If your CPU is getting hot, when did you last apply new thermal grease to it? your system, if bought new at the time, sounds like 5+ years old. Should look at re-doing thermal.

It's currently bugged, but the current intent for Rogue stealth is if you're facing the stealthed Rogue you'll actually be able to see them the closer they get, but if you're facing away from them they could be touching you and you wouldn't see them

i think the only way you can actually be banned permanently is for using cheating software. exploiting stuff in game may only result is lesser punishments like having ur character deleveled or a suspension during testing

if you use actual cheating or hacking software you will forfeit your account and money

so all the guides i see for leveling are related to grinding. Are there any particular quests important to do? also which are main story quests, i dont see any indicator for which quests progress the main story but i read there are main story quests? ty!

Some quests coincide with 'grind' spots. It depends on your goal. Do you want a guide to level or a guide to adventure? If the former, yes pick up commissions and grind the spots like everyone else. If the latter, you are the guide to your own adventure. If you do choose the latter, please be mindful that not all quests can even be completed, many bug out, and some do inhibit you from receiving other quests.

Furthermore, the commissions for discover location are a free 'kills' worth of exp and are on the way to other areas, good to at least grab those. Once youre 12ish+ some of the commissions are definitely not worth it.

It has a few different causes reported by people. If you are playing on anything other than an internal ssd, anti-virus, or vpn. Making sure it is installed there, or turning those off sometimes helps. Also make sure you have at least the minimum hardware specs. Anything that impedes or slows data transfer to Intrepid will cause it.

I exit that and now I get item locked. I went back to the harbor master and see that the launch button is available. So I am having major performance problems. Before when I checked the "optimize shadows" it eou make the game run fine. Now that I have no options on an Nvidia 10606gb I am hardly able to play. Before it was just fine.
