This game crashes my wifes entire computer. We lowered all settings and she couldnt play for more than 30 seconds before it crashed. Her PC is absolutely above average with the weakest thing being probably her 3060. We have tried the repair option, as well as reinstall as well.

I find myself getting increasingly frustrated and wish that they would hard focus on optimizing the game more so that people can play with better frame rate, and play at all.

Try a mix of settings, not just all lowest. People have reported that setting them all to one specific level has caused more issues than if you play around with them in a sort of mix and match scenario. Other than that I have no other input. Maybe someone else has a fix.

There are citizen vendors in town. When you are a citizen you can see what they have. Cloaks are popular. Also they have some lvl 10 gear. Diff gear diff towns.

The black screen is mostly reported by those with data transfer rate issues. Is your SSD internal? Do you have enough storage space on it. Are you running anti-virus or a VPN? There are several different things that people have reported that get them into that state. And yes, it seems to affect people randomly based on the patch.

Yeah, anti-virus REALLY doesn't like Intrepid atm with as fast as they are iterating. Many false positives. If you can, just turn it off completely. I know there are some who don't like that, but it is what it is.

If you already had a store package from before, that is your upgrade option. Doing so gives you access to A2 currently and all future testing phases.

i wish they had make this more like planetside2 where we have faction we fight for and are home lands are safeish. and all the PVP is on the borderland. so the 1st few week we are forced to build are kingdom home land then when we get the a node level the starting nodes around us are NPC that we have to conquer in order to vassal till we get to kingdom status. then we start unlocking node and sooner or later start PVP with other faction if we choice too. if war is declared then most of the fight happen like in planetside2 if you unlock or take over the node there is a cooldown then the fighting in PVP can always have a place and the PVE guy have a place and the artisans have a place

At a certain point Intrepid or the payment processor will just deny your attempt to buy again. Every refund costs them money in processing fees varying depending on their agreement with the processor. But they also have protections that are allowed in the case of suspected fraud or repeat offenders.

Hello, I have a problem with completing a "Raiders of the Cursed Archives" quest, the problem is that I accidently missclicked the dialogue with "dead body" after killing the last boss where the button with reward appear and there is no more chances to complete it except doing all from scratch, is anyway to complete this quest except starting from zero and get a necklace?

For your second question, you donmt attack by right clicking in this game. You need to press Q (by default) to auto attack for each swing, or hold it down to auto attack. Right clicking just brings up a selection menu

Press P. You can see your stats there. Once you get to lvl 10 in a skill, you can upgrade it at the appropriate table and make a better tool. I wouldnt worry about tools until you get to lvl 10 tbh and the apprentice level.

Search on youtube for "guide to professions" or "New player guide" there are number of good ones out there.

Yes, this was a nissue even on L2. When someone flags on you so you wohnt accidentaly flag back when killing a lot mobs for example. If you dont attack back and die, he will go red -> now everyone can attack him without flaging up

It was mentioned years ago that there will be something similar to a MSQ that is not dependent on nodes and their development, but instead will require travel over most of the map to various static locations and POIs. We have not seen anything on that in a long time. Story Arcs are meant to be affected by certain node achievements and levels, are based on a group of nodes in a smaller area (say 3-4 nodes actions contribute to the triggers) and have different effects, rewards and penalties based on larger group participation decisions. Kill enough fire elementals during this phase, and an eternal winter comes down till defeated sort of thing. You are not THE HERO, just a hero in the grand scheme.

For killing trash, pick a spot not directly on top of the other group and tag and kill mobs as the spawn. For named mobs, your probably not going to have the dps to compete against a 32 man raid group for the kill so ignore the named mobs or combine into a larger group. Don't flag up. If they go purple and attack/CC you a bit ignore it. If they do it a lot try to trick them into accidentally killing people in your group (Reduce your defensive stats as much as possible without looking like you've unequipped all your gear). If most of the raid is standing in one spot with people pulling stuff to them, try to pick your spot as being as far from them as possible.

So right now how it works is basically this:

Harvestable stuff has a base rarity it will spawn at. For big forests, this is all at Common, so anything higher means you rolled your Rarity stat, got a success, and then rolled higher than Common on the roll to determine the actual rarity.

For "special" trees, for example those random standalone or groups of like 1-3 Western Larch that you see far away from the big clumps of western larch, it's different. THOSE can spawn at any rarity from Common to Legendary. Same goes for Willow, Braidwood, and Oak. Ash MIGHT do it, but they're harder to spot.

This is being changed soon in an upcoming change to harvesting.

Until they say otherwise, yes. There are indicators meant to show from level 1 what type of node it is based on the camp, from npcs, to "other indicators." Currently in A2, you have two layouts for Node lvl3, more are coming. Same will probably happen eventually with the lower level camps. Probably not a high priority atm since they have the much bigger set pieces to get into the game first.

FPS and other metrics vary based on machine hardware, your personal setting and a variety of other things. The testing client is not optimized each patch and they have said things like those optimazation passes will occur later in the process. So what someone else's experience is, may not match yours. Some have reported "high" numbers with lower end setups, other way happens too. Some with high end setups, have reported "low" numbers.

I don't know of any recommendation from Intrepid themselves. Anecdotal advice seems to be to use a mix of various settings from low to high to find the sweet spot that works for you. Each part of the craft affects the rarity of the outcome, as does the crafter's quality rating, and any node buffs. In your case the item would be common. Luckily, when you put the ingredients in, it will show you what the end result will be, so there is no guessing.

Each rarity will have a range of values, so adding one uncommon ingredient may make it a slightly better Common, than if you had just used all common materials (with low level crafting, the range is so small you're unlikely to see any difference). Ashescodex has a crafting calculator that you can mess around with.

Hello, just downloaded Ashes of Creation and I seem to be getting black screens and crashes. The first time I opened the game I got a black screen but eventually it loaded into the character creation screen where I was able to create a character and press play. After that I got a black screen and it stayed black for 20 minutes so I closed it. 2nd time I tried loading the game same thing the black screen at the beginning which eventually loaded into character screen but a "Server Timed out" notification popped up and I press close and it crashes the game. Hey Dai! That Code:31 error usually means the game client is timing out while trying to connect to the servers.
It can happen if the servers are under maintenance, overloaded, or if there's some network instability on your side.
I’d suggest double-check the launcher to see if repairing the game fix the problem.
Also, try restarting your router.

Okay, I did get past that pop up the 1st time and was able to create a character. I pressed play and black screened for 20 minutes so I close the game and now I can't even get back past that pop up without crashing.

Make sure that your hardware meets minimum specs, you are using an internal SSD, not an external. Have your anti-virus and/or vpn off. There are as many varied workarounds that people have reported to clear the "black screen crash" as you can think of as a new user. Good luck.

Sometimes after the first login or during heavy server load, the client can hang or get stuck in a bad state.

What you can try:

🔹 Fully restart your PC and router (helps clear any connection issues).
🔹 Re-run the launcher as Administrator.
🔹 If it keeps happening, you might want to clear the launcher cache or reinstall just to rule out a corrupt file.

Sadly, since we’re in Alpha, these things are expected. If nothing helps, make sure to report to support so the team can take a look.

There's an in-game option when reporting bugs. A check box to flag what you're reporting as an exploit

You can also DM anyone from Intrepid staff. We'd prefer NOT to have exploits discussed publicly, since that can encourage more people to use them

Yeah, there’s definitely enough to test right now, systems, combat, nodes, crafting, caravans, etc. But keep in mind it’s full Alpha, so expect bugs, wipes, and occasional server restarts or downtimes.

If you're okay with that and like being part of the testing and feedback process, it can be worth it. But if you’re looking for a 100% polished experience, it might feel too early.
