If you're not really into the idea of Ashes as a game and wanting to help test as it slowly reaches that ideal, then I'd personally wait until late this year/early next year and check back in. Quests are relatively pointless to do (grinding is multitudes faster at all levels and there's not much "story" atm as Steven wants to keep story under wraps until closer to launch). There are "dungeons", but not what you're thinking if WoW or whatever is your main MMO. Every dungeon atm is open-world.

Yes, it was only 30-40 minutes of actual play time and another couple hours to fix it. A few hours of issues is still on the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to MMOs at launch.

I've looked around, and haven't found a solution to my problem. I've had this issue for some time now, where every time I re-enter the game, all the UI elements I repositioned and saved (health bars, action bars etc.) reset to default positions. I tried different things, such as deleting UI profile, saving, restarting the game, but nothing works. If anyone has a fix to this I'd be grateful.

2. You can use novice crafting tables to craft your own gear.

It was always my understanding that to sum degree the mobs are supposed to level along side node progression. The 'later on' theory if true isn't very fair to say Vaelune players as opposed to Kaelar players if its their intent to go to a more race aligned biome such as the desert. Why should Vaelune have to hang back and build other people's nodes first because the desert isn't safe to traverse early because there are level 25-30 two and three star mobs everywhere. I sure hope that wouldn't be the intended game design as it wouldn't be very well thought out design IMO...one shouldn't be essentially punished and set back due to race choice...just my take.

i promise luck was not involved in my groups case. We painstakingly planned it everystep of the way, still missed first wave of freeholds due to the exploiters, then managed to get it on the desert wave after more painstaking planning

So you are saying that those that exploited should be rewarded also. Sounds like a nightmare to sort out, similar to how Diablo4 decided to give name scratch on a statue to the first 100 players to reach max level, which was then shown to have missed those that got it before others and cost them months of time to sort out to never come to a resolution that made people happy. They have bigger issues to handle than adding something that would cause even more reeeee. Wishlisting and feedback is always great, just don't be surprised when it isn't acted upon.

It's a bit long of an answer, but the plan originally was when the game launched, any server in regions with a weaker economy would have a "harmonised" price, so if they launched a South American server you could play on that server for a lower price, but if you wanted to play on NA/EU you'd have to pay full price. Only NA/EU servers are planned for the Alpha, and they haven't mentioned reducing the buy-in price.

If you refund after buying access to Alpha Two, you will lose access, and if you’ve already played or used any of the digital items, Intrepid can potentially deny the refund altogether. They’ve also mentioned in the past that abusing refunds could lead to account restrictions or bans, especially if it’s seen as a way to game the system.

The likely outcome is neither of the two options you provided. You probably won’t get banned and you won’t still have access to play the game since you refunded it.

This is unless what you mean by a refund is you’re going to tell your credit card company you didn’t authorize the transaction or some other reason that goes through your method of payment for a refund rather than intrepid. Then who knows, maybe you’d get banned because they would probably assume the account was purchased fraudulently.

Hey! A few people have reported similar crashes lately, especially around the 14% loading mark. It could be related to a corrupted local file or something server-side that changed with the last hotfix or patch.

A couple of things you might try (just in case you haven’t already):

1. Delete your local config/cache files:
   Go to
   C:\Users\<YourName>\AppData\Local\AshesOfCreation\Saved
   and try deleting (or backing up and then deleting) the Config and SaveGames folders. Sometimes a bad HUD layout or corrupted setting causes crashes.

2. Run as administrator and disable any overlays (Discord, GeForce Experience, etc.).

3. Check Windows Defender or Antivirus logs:
   Sometimes they randomly block part of the launcher or the EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) executable.

If none of that helps, best move is to submit a ticket to support, they’ve been responding pretty fast lately.

With the upcoming launch of a fresh server — thanks to the community’s requests — I believe it’s important to address an issue that concerns many players: the lack of a convenient teleportation system. In its current state, traveling across the world of Ashes of Creation consumes an excessive amount of time, especially when a player simply needs to get from point A to point B without any meaningful exploration involved.

This doesn’t encourage engagement or enjoyment of the gameplay. On the contrary — it creates a barrier, particularly for the core demographic: adults over 30 who are working, financially capable, and have limited time to play. No one wants to spend 40 minutes just walking to a location where the actual gameplay finally begins.

While the argument that “the world should be explored” and “traveling is part of the adventure” is understandable, it doesn’t eliminate the need for a balance between philosophy and convenience. Crafting, trading, PvP, and other activities will still require players to move through and engage with the world. A well-designed teleportation system wouldn’t kill the spirit of exploration — it would empower players with choice, improve logistics, and make the experience more enjoyable.

If Steven truly listens to the community — as he did in the case of fresh servers — then let’s also push for teleportation. We’re asking for the voices of time-constrained players to be heard. We’re not asking to turn the game into a soulless auto-pathing simulator — we’re asking for respect for our time.

I call on the community to support this initiative. Together, we can influence the direction of the project and make it more accessible and fair for all player types.

Adding teleportation would not only demonstrate respect toward the player base, but also show that the developers value their community just as much as the community values and believes in this project.

Hello Sir Netrun! I totally get your perspective, travel time in Ashes is a real commitment, especially for players with limited time. That said, Intrepid has been very clear about their design philosophy when it comes to fast travel.

According to the official wiki, there won’t be any traditional fast travel systems in Ashes of Creation. The devs want movement across the world to feel meaningful, to reinforce the importance of local economies, regional identity, and strategic territory control. Steven has specifically said that fast travel will not be something players can do freely.

That said, there will be limited fast travel mechanics, like scientific metropolis SP that allow travel between certain nodes, and family summon systems (like summoning a party or family member to your location). But even those will come with restrictions, cooldowns, and conditions. It’s meant to preserve immersion and player-driven logistics over convenience.

In AoC, "Processing" refers to turning raw materials into usable components, and that’s where cooking fits in, you take raw ingredients (meat, herbs, grains, etc.) and process them into consumables like meals or potions. So even though it feels like a craft, it’s technically classified as a processing profession because you're not creating an item from scratch, you're transforming it.

Meanwhile, Crafting in Ashes is more about producing end-use items like weapons, armor, tools, and gear, things that usually require processed components to make.

We’re still in Alpha, so who knows, naming conventions and classifications might still get adjusted as things evolve 🙂

Since you already checked firewall and antivirus settings, here are a few more things you can try:

Run the launcher as Administrator

Switch to a wired connection or try restarting your router

Use a VPN (weirdly, this has helped a few people if there’s a regional routing issue)

Flush your DNS (open CMD and type: ipconfig /flushdns)

Try logging in at a different time, sometimes it’s a temporary server-side hiccup

The lawless mechanic is part of their normal development cadence. When a new zone is released it is just basically the terrain. Since the node corks are not in, it is set to lawless. As that zone/biome is developed and content and nodes are added it gets put under the normal open world flagging mechanics. This will continue to be a thing. As they are getting quicker every iteration at adding that content, you will start to see area being lawless for shorter periods of time.

No speed boost for caravans just yet, according to the official wiki, there’s currently no mechanic for increasing caravan speed like a turbo or sprint. That said, caravan types and components (like wheels, animals, or upgrades) will affect things like durability and maybe even mobility later on. There’s a lot of room for future customization, especially as the system evolves. For now though… it’s all about careful planning, good escorts, and praying no one ambushes you on the way xD

You can choose the same archetype to double up from last information given. The augment system has not been developed yet, so their impact remains to be seen. There have been many statements over the years, but they have admitted they are still thinking about what direction to go when it comes to how augments function. So wait and see.

If I'm understanding you correctly and you have 2FA on your account and no longer have access to that to log in, you need a CS ticket. To re-add 2FA if you don't have it, you just need to go to their website.

So there have been times where Intrepid has said that grinding sucks and they don't want the game to be grindy, and then there's times where it seems like they are saying that things are going to be grindy, and then there's the current state of the game, which is probably one of the most grindy games I've ever played in my life, and I just want to know if there's anyone out there who really understands what Intrepid's vision is for this game, whether it's... should we expect things to continue to be about grinding mobs in pockets of dungeons, or is the game meant to be more of a dynamic, evolving game where players go through story arcs and unlock interesting and fresh content to progress?
