You and your friends can do this anyway now. Lots of guilds recruiting for phase 3. There is value in starting a toon and figuring out the basics now. Levelling is easy enough and easier in groups. We also have to keep in mind that Ashes of Creation isn’t the only game launching between late April and early May (I consider anything that requires buying a license a “game release,” even if I know it’s still in development). Some players like my group of friends might be tempted by other titles.

Sure, they said “info is coming before Phase 3 begins,” but with less than two weeks to go, we’d really like to have a clear answer.

If they decide to delay because the content isn’t ready, we totally understand and we’re not here to criticize that. But in that case, we’ll grab another game license in the meantime and pick up Phase 3 access when it’s truly available.

Ashes of Creation is still our top priority, and that’s why we’re hesitating. But playing on an old server with nothing new while waiting for a delayed release of several weeks or even months isn’t appealing.

I’m also thinking about guilds: it’s hard to organize or make a clear decision without solid information. Some players are even taking time off, like they usually do for fresh launches, wipes, or new games. And seeing delays announced at the last minute when the decision had clearly already been made internally... that doesn’t really look professional.

Will it be possible to play a vegan playstyle, and get the same benefits as using most or all other items?

I would love to grow plants and cook with it, and travel around on feet, maybe buying potions if there will be some for speed/climbing/stamina/invisibility/stealthy footsteps (maybe being harder to detect.)

It would make me, and so many other vegans sprout with our eyes sparkling and popping out from just playing in the world.

It seems like the issue occurs when multiple tank buffs are activated simultaneously in a group, causing the game to crash.

The game crashes every time we pull a mob, whether it's a taunt pull or a body pull, no matter the type of pull.

I've observed exactly the same problem at the same time on multiple tanks.

No, most likely once they get those cosmetic systems online, they will be tested by everyone to get the maximum bug spread they can squish. Then all of it will be wiped before live launch. Nothing from testing carries over. This is why you see people riding around in testing currently on mounts that were exclusive to packages, and people looting gear that were parts of cosmetic costume sets.

If you want to, yes, will take you a good long while, and realize, except for some early bugs, you only receive the benefits of the ones you have equipped (there were earlier issues with being able to stack the passives by equipping and unequipping multiples to reach insane bonuses)

It looks like the server has just been reset, and currently, only the EU server is open. If your characters are missing from the main screen, it might be related to the downtime or ongoing updates. Try checking back later once the servers are fully up and running, or you might need to switch realms to find your characters again.

howdy all, is there a way to have only one target bar instead of defensive /offensive target bars? I have the "allow dual def/off target lock" setting turned off in targeting settings.

I just wish there was a toggle to enable/disable this option. I'm sure some people love it, but it's driving me crazy. In every game I have ever healed in, I use raid frames/mouse over to heal targets. I've never had to deal with "forced" target frames for friendly/hostile targets

Depends what you mean by "worth it". Most of the PvE is planned to be open-world with around 20% of the dungeons being instanced. They've went on record stating they're not planning to compete with games like WoW or FF14s PvE content. PvE content will be necessary in order to progress, but the "difficulty" isn't solely from the PvE encounters, but the other players coming to contest

Just note that the game's performance is currently terrible. I exceed the recommended hardware and it overheats in short order, even on low settings. In Phase 1 I used to play nice and smooth on max settings with zero heat issues. The moment I turn Ashes off, the temp drops like a rock and I can play other games with no issues. So just be patient (and careful) when it comes to the performance side of things.

I do, I have PBO enabled and tweaked with adequate cooling along with bios optimizations. My GPU is overclocked too. I run at great temperatures. The only thing I do notice is GPU utilization is very high with cpu consistently hovering around 50% or so.

Proton will convert DX11 and DX12 games to vulkan, so the PC will precompile all shaders for the game before play. This also increases performance and makes sure 90%+ of games from Windows will run as they were native.

It has built in everything, fan control for your GPU, overlays for TDP/temps

And yes you can do pull power limit / clocks on Linux using Afterburner equivalent

I’m betting long term gearing flow will make a little more sense, but defining areas for 1-10, 11-19, 20-24, and 25 gear drops would be helpful! And stacking a main stat like Magical power etc with an off stat might make the farm a little more predictable. Luckily the community is super helpful right because going from 10-20 I sat in the same gear until I found some help on where higher lvl gear dropped. Even if they are defined in each node.

Until it changes, gliding is considered a T2 mount, while flying is considered a T3. Many mounts will have a T2 and T3 version. The T2 version being smaller and able to glide, but the exact same model larger and able to fly with the restrictions outlined by Intrepid at T3. This was clarified back when during APOC they gave everyone a dragon skin, so people complained that they would never be able to use it, cause flying is so limited.

I’d say it also depends on a lot of other factors. I dont recall which race(s) are desert origin but it did say they were, if there is alternative world spawns based on race pick (in this case desert races will spawn In for their starter area at the desert), then I’d imagine the mobs would be low level regardless of node level etc.

tldr depends on the intentions they have of each zone in the future, but I doubt it’d be a popular decision to have every single zone be low level til nodes get higher level. I can see there being level ranges for each zone (like desert starts with level 10 mobs that can grow to 20-30, further zones have mobs that start at lvl 20 that can grow to 30-40, etc)

But either way i think there’d need to be a balance cuz every single zone being low level would be an F but i do think node development should be necessary to get the highest levels

So far, based on official info from the wiki and dev discussions, nodes do not scale dynamically to your level. Instead, the area around a node evolves as the node itself levels up. That means:

When a node is at stage 0 or just beginning, the surrounding content (like mobs and quests) is generally suitable for low-level players.

As the node grows into a Village, Town, or higher, the surrounding content also becomes more challenging, including tougher monsters and more advanced activities.

So on a fresh start server, if Squall’s End is still undeveloped, it’s very likely that a level 1 could find level appropriate content there. But if it’s already progressed, you’d probably need to level up a bit before heading in safely.

That’s the information I was reading when I saw your question and started looking into it, maybe I’m wrong though.

You won't have level 1 content next to all Nodes after any wipe/fresh start

It's not intentional for new level 1 characters to go to Nodes and level there. In the Sandsquall Desert and Turquoise Sea, enemies near those Nodes will start at a level closer to the intended level of those zones. Those zones are not designed for new characters

Even in the Riverlands, NPCs that spawn near wilderness / stage 0 Nodes should start around level 5-7

I’ve recently heard some concerns regarding the upcoming anti-cheat system in Ashes of Creation and its potential incompatibility with virtual machines. A friend of mine contacted the support and was told that VMs might never be supported.

As someone who’s been using a Shadow PC for nearly 8 years — and I know I’m not alone — I wanted to ask if there’s any official word on this. Will Shadow PC users (or similar cloud gaming setups) be able to play the game without issues when the anti-cheat goes live?

I’ve already pledged quite a bit, and I’d really like to make sure I’ll still be able to enjoy the game when it launches.

Shadow gives me a full Windows environment, which I need not just for gaming but also for work and other apps. GeForce NOW is great for certain supported games, but it doesn't offer the flexibility I get from a full VM like Shadow.

The red outline is the current "map" that's in A2, however it's not content complete, meaning a lot of it is barren area atm, it's also not "complete" environmentally compared to what it will be at launch.

There's currently only a single Node type in the game, Scientific meaning there's no Economic, Divine, or Military Nodes yet. They also can only level up to level 3, Village, atm, meaning Town, City, and Metropolis aren't in the game. There's also only 1 racial aesthetic for each Node, Kaelar, which means the other 8 racial aesthetics aren't in yet.

All artisan classes are available, but none of them are complete. They're all in their barebones implementation and will be massively expanded in the future.

7 of the 8 base archetypes are in with Summoner planned to be added some time later this year. None of the classes (archetype+archetype) are in yet.

So, for clarification of what they have stated. There will be 4 starting portals that you can choose from regardless of race. Near each portal there are two starting areas that are racially themed. Currently we have one portal with two starting areas that give that experience. Tulnar don't come through the portals, but start near them (once they are added) This was a change from early info where they were going to have their own starting area. So a total of 8 starting areas that represent each of the two splits from the "original" 4 races that went to Sanctus.

If you are talking about P3. No one knows and we are all awaiting that announcement in the next 3-4 days. If you are talking over the course of testing, then there will be wipes as needed and there is a final wipe planned for just before live release. Nothing you do in testing carries over.

Up to about 7-8 you can the commission board quests in lionhold and from the node towns. Those can give you some good exp. After that it’s hit or miss. Around 7 head to the church of the seven stars and find a group and grind it up to lvl 10

Patch 0.8.0 – April 10, 2025

Full item and stat rebalance: All gear and items were redesigned to follow new stat distribution curves, assigning fixed stat portions based on slot type. The minimum stat values were also increased.

Enchantments and quality scaling: Enchantments and item quality values were inflated 10x to add more granularity and fix scaling issues.

Reduced gear power: Gear was toned down to give more weight to player power from other sources (skill trees, enchants, consumables, guild bonuses, etc).

Base stat restructuring: Base stats were overhauled, and new ones like crit mitigation and CC resistance were added.

Offensive vs defensive stat balancing: Base values for certain offensive/defensive stat pairs were adjusted for better balance.

Diminishing returns applied: Generic versions of stats now properly apply diminishing returns when paired with physical or magical versions.

Archetype stat gain curves rebalanced: Each archetype’s stat progression was adjusted.

Not a dumb question at all, Ashes' UI is still a bit clunky in some spots, and this is one of them.
To see the tooltip of the item you’re crafting, try hovering your cursor just above or around the item name and icon at the top of the crafting interface (where the output item is displayed). The hitbox is small and a bit finicky, so it might take a couple of tries to hit the right spot.
It’s definitely something that could use a bit of polish, but hopefully it’ll improve as we move through Alpha Two.
Let us know if that worked for you or if any one here have another answer 🙂

You can't change the green, but you can change the red to be something else so you only have 1 color that is an issue for you so you'd always know which one it was.
