Not developed yet. You won't see name reservation for "live" till shortly before release. Since it is server specific, and they have no final server list for people to select from, nothing to do atm. There may be limited name reservation tested related to server merges and other systems during the testing. But none of that will carry over to live.

Yes, they have discussed a loadout tab or option for skill swaps and gear loadouts. They would be limited as to where they could be done to "safe areas" designated by them. You won't be out in the open world swapping as you like is intent, instead planning for that days activity will be key. https://ashesofcreation.wiki/Gear_loadouts Respeccing (resetting and reallocating) adventuring skills may require travelling to a specific location rather than being able to be done on-the-fly.[12][13]

Join the Voice channel stage at the time your server is having the siege. You will be given info which node to go to, you do not need to be a citizen of the node for the tests. Once a leader for each side has been chosen you will be able to press N and sign up to the siege.

the classes aren't really balanced yet and there will be alot of change, so I recommend playing whatever suits your playstyle best instead of focusing on what's strongest in the moment

Intrepid suffers from the same thing most mmorpgs do. Any new archetype put out in the testing environment is usually "the best" for at least a short while. As abilities have just gone from concept to prod, are overpowered or bugged, and people exploit them till they are fixed. Then when Intrepid moves onto the next one, it becomes the "meta." Your next archetype released will be Summoner in a few to several months. After that they will rework the earlier archetyps like the original 3 of Tank, Cleric, and Mage. Like anything else, you could pour a weekend into leveling a new character (people had 25 Rogues under 18 hours after patch) only to have it nerfed shortly after. Good luck. My advice. Mess around and play with what you like and feels right.

It wasn't about you, it was about Intrepid. "Suffer from" indicates that someone or something is experiencing a negative condition, illness, or hardship. Everyone participating in testing is well aware of the state of things. That does not stop what is occurring and will continue to occur at each iteration. Balance (as they envision it) will eventually happen to be sure. Till then, the answer is the same. "meta" or "best archetype" will be what was ever worked on last. Until they are satisfied with the tweaking of those, all abilities up to level 50 are added, augment system is tested to not break those abilities in exploitable ways, and a host of others. Plenty to do.

No you shouldnt have to keep pressing it. But there is a flow to it, if you kill a mob and then move to a new one, you may have to press it again. Takes some practice. It still annoys me tbh lol

Hi, Every time I turn on my PC. I get Intrepid Studios Launcher " newer version" to install every single time. I have tried clearing Cache and deleting the launcher and game entirely and I still continue getting this notification. I usually just exit it, cause clicking yes sometimes causes issues for the launcher when I already have had update it before. Does anyone know how to gid rid of this? It only just happends when I log into my windows. This is a new pc.

1. Check the launcher settings

Open the Launcher.

Go to Settings → General.

If have the option "Start launcher when Windows starts" disable it.

The launchers sometimes auto-enables this during updates without telling you.

Or

2. Disable auto-start manually

If it still keeps popping up:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc → open Task Manager.

Go to the Startup tab.

If you see Intrepid Studios Launcher, right-click → Disable.

it is 100% a launcher bug or a broken update flag in the launcher files.

Many users have reported that after an update or fresh install, the launcher sometimes leaves behind a "pending update" flag or temporary file that triggers the notification even though the launcher is up to date.

The only options that I see here are:

1. Clear cache and temporary files manually Even if you’ve done this before, do it like this:

Close the launcher completely.

Go to:

C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Intrepid Studios

Delete the Launcher and Game folders.

2. Check Windows Task Scheduler It is possible that there’s a leftover scheduled task even if it doesn't appear in Startup:

Press Win + R → type taskschd.msc.

Go to Task Scheduler Library.

Look for anything related to Intrepid, Ashes of Creation, or Update.

If you find one, right-click → Disable or Delete.

3. Optional and booooring - Fresh reinstall with clean folders If you want to be sure:

Uninstall the launcher.

Delete these folders:

C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Intrepid Studios

C:\Program Files (x86)\Intrepid Studios

Restart your PC.

Download the latest launcher from the official site.

Install it as Administrator.

Everyime I upgrade to the newest one I seem to get a error on the launcher with missing files or missing the anti cheat. And I basicly start fresh from there I uninstall and delete all related folders to the game and intrepid and download the launcher from there official website. That has been the process for me several times I miss click and press yes on it at times. But this is a brand new PC. Ive had some issues installing the game. But once I was able to make it work. Now I keep getting that update vers everytime.

Gear drops almost always come from humanoid enemies. Bandits, goblins and the like.

Glint comes from a variety of enemies but there are specific enemy types that seem to drop more than average.

Things like droppings are exclusively dropped by animal and animal like creatures

To follow up with my error with the Launcher setup popping up every time I logged in to my windows. Even though trying to Clear Cache, Uninstall and Deleting every single file from app data and default folders. I was still getting the pop up. Even with the launcher being deleted not existing in the desktop. I restarted PC and apparently I had the pop up still open and I went to find the actual .EXE file of the game in the computer and It seems that I had two different versions there and one of them was causing the popup for some reason. Notifying me that I had the program already open. Weirdly enough it seems that it was a .exe causing it that might've been incomplete process I'm unsure. But I finally dont have the pop up anymore.

The US servers have been going up and down constant for the last while. That may be contributing to your issues. Give it a bit and try again. And by a bit, like 10 minutes. There is a node siege test trying to go on atm, and they are having problems with it. Your install will probably be impacted till they stabilize.

There are still many aspects that feel unnatural, such as motion and skill combos. While the game utilizes Unreal Engine 5 and has great scale, I believe it would benefit from more fluid movement, skill execution, and dodging mechanics.

Additionally, when enemies use magic or arrows, they still hit the player even if there is terrain or cover in the way, which feels unrealistic. It would be great if this could be fixed. In both PvP and PvE, rather than simply trading hits, players should have the ability to dodge incoming magic attacks and utilize more area-based attacks and evasion skills.

While the gameplay style is different, I think it would be helpful to take inspiration from games like Guild Wars 2, Black Desert, and Throne and Liberty when considering skill impact and combat motion. Compared to Korean games, I believe this game has a superior story and world-building. However, for a game built with Unreal Engine 5, the current combat motion, skill execution flow, and lack of evasion mechanics feel outdated.

Guild Wars 2 is nearly 20 years old but has an incredibly well-designed system, including dodge mechanics, weapon swapping, and skill variations based on equipped weapons. I truly hope this game can refine its mechanics to become the ultimate MMORPG.

You can have all 22 professions at novice, of those 22 you can upgrade 5 to apprentice, of those 5 you can upgrade 4 to journeyman.

So if you’re maxed out right now, you’d have 4 journeyman and 1 apprentice.

You will always have 17 of your professions stuck at novice.

If you are playing Rogue, some people are reporting that if they are playing from far away regions, that the high mobility skills are causing rubberbanding and other issues. It is a new archetype, the game does not do extensive optimization passes yet every update, and other factors that you may just have to suffer through if you are in a place that would expect high ping. Give your feedback on forums so that they know it is happening. Not really a /bug.

Good. Like any new archetype released it has tuning issues that make it overpowered compared to others, but over time those will be adjusted to bring them more in line with others. There are several livestreams, twitch vods, and other Youtube media out there that can give you insight if that is what you are interested in. Remember, you are testing an alpha client, not buying a game to play. If you come in with that attitude and realize what that entails, you will be fine. If you come in expecting a polished experience, you will be disappointed.

Lvling up crafting skills is extremely expensive. I’d suggest buying/farming the materials and find a crafter to make the gear for you. You may need to make friends with a bard and have them share their build with you if you don’t know what gear you should work towards. This isn’t the channel for that though.

It’s an alpha too so like just say “hey I feel like PvE is lacking or PvP is lacking”, for me just launching the game as an example I feel like there’s a lot of performance issues and I have a high end PC, even dropping most settings to medium doesn’t feel great and the text feels low res for some reason. Progression is slow blah blah blah you get the picture. Worth mentioning in feedback but whether or not that’s their plan or not shouldn’t be a concern past that. As far as I’m aware the game is meant to appeal to a larger player base rather than just PvE or PvP players, so just give honest thoughts and leave it at that, let the devs do their job from there

Error code 31 is a communication error with their servers. If you install the game on HDD instead of SSD as the minumum specs require, often people have reported it. Also if you have bad connection due to sub par internet, that is also a reason. Make sure you are using minimum specs, that antivirus and vpn are off, and you have adequate bandwidth to communicate with their servers. Other than that, file a ticket.

^ he means higher quality which are the more rare and higher stat drops. The rarity order is common, uncommon (green), rare (blue), heroic (yellow), epic (purple), legendary (orange). Getting blue gear to drop happens somewhat frequently, but there is a very small chance for anything heroic or better to drop. Those rarities typically require you to do as Groggy said and find a crafter after you obtain the necessary materials.

Make sure you have updated your bios, chipset, graphics, motherboard drivers too. Also, I'd recommend researching how to confirm you are using your memory speed. Motherboards by default normally cap memory speeds to the low 2,000's.

Was just giving you the info that is on Intrepid's page. Every patch brings issues for someone with "this never happened to me before." If you try all the usual fixes that people in the community recommend, get no relief, then yes, a ticket is probably your best bet. It may take up to a week, the problem may clear itself during that time, or it may not. You may get told "Damn, we have no idea" or you might get lucky and they know exactly what is wrong with your setup. Good luck.

People use them with varying levels of success. Realize that optimization of the testing client is not a priority, that comes later in the process. So while you may get it to work, you will experience issues till they decide to work on it.

Are you playing on a SSD as the minimum specs say? People who have tried to HDD it have reported similar, or lower end hardware. Different graphics cards have had issues depending on the patch also. There are as many different reasons why you may get the black screen. You gonna have to play with it. This worked for someone else.

• Intrepid has said they want ti keep wipes to a minimum
• They previously said that they intended start "fresh start" servers for P3
• People have been asking about a wipe/asking for a wipe for a while, there are extremely bad issues with inflation with the economy currently and a lot of bad consequences of the existing gathering system, specifically static rarity/static respawn timers
• 28 days ago as of the time of this post, Steven made this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/AshesofCreation/comments/1j7m88m/comment/mgy97o7/?context=3&utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button and in specific this quote is the part that matters in relation to this: "As we approach phase 3, we will try to have addressed most of these pain points, so that a wipe will be beneficial in creating “new data”."

Does Steven's post make much sense if they aren't planning to wipe? Not really, but lets be generous and say maybe it's just being misinterpreted

At a MINIMUM, they've said fresh start servers are coming up. We know the existing servers have problems with inflation in both gold, gear, and materials from static rarity and the sheer length of time. Many new players will look at the situation and go, "Well, we should go to the fresh starts so that we don't have to deal with all that legacy stuff" which is the normal way people do that.

A lot of "competitive"/"hardcore" types will also gravitate there, because it means they have fresh slates to test things out on and put their experience to use, and get a chance to be the crab at the top of the pile for a bit, and they get to lord it over the newbies.

There'll be people that stay on the old servers, assuming they exist, but the general trend in every single other game that has had fresh starts basically ends up that the fresh start becomes the new primary server and the old stuff withers. Low player counts, barely anyone for groups, which itself will force more people towards the fresh starts. It's not a wipe in name, but for a lot of people, it may as well be.

But until we actually get an official statement, all we've really got is guesswork and speculation

If you're worried over a wipe, I'd just take a break for the month and come back when May rolls around

I would say start with using a more lightweight windows build, and then combine that with disabling mitigations and telemetry on your CPU. This will atleast remove the minimal CPU bottleneck which you see is persistant on the graph 🙂

You see dips in persistent load on the GPU like that it is going down in usage because the CPU cannot deliver enough frames

Try using NVcleaninstall when you install your driver, and dodge the nvidia app, this will free up more GPU.

And make sure rebar is enabled, and hardware accelerated GPU scheduling, this changes how vram is managed and will help you greatly. Easy way to lose 20% GPU performance if not.

After this, consider GPU upgrade.

My friend is playing this on an RX 580 and is having no issues with Vram. His card is weaker than yours on the core side aswell.
