In theory technically yes, in practice the odds of a legendary piece of gear dropping from a mob are incredibly small

Like we're talking so small that when I was levelling from 14-20, I was killing level 20 Najash(Twink gear), and I killed several thousand of them, and the highest rarity piece of gear I found was a singular Rare Rividium Necklace

And nothing else at even Rare

When farming Snar's Bone Necklace recipe, I killed the boss that drops it upwards of 100 times. I found a single natural-drop Heroic

So yes in theory you can get it to drop but by FAR it is gonna be easier to get gear crafted

They’re not posted publicly by intrepid because there is no guarentee the changes will make it into the live build. You’d need to ask someone who has access to the PTR to share them with you.

When they make the announcements about when the servers come up they put in a hyperlink that shows it in the local time, of whoever is looking at it. So the time is different for all of us, but it's accurate to you personally when you look at it. I hope that made sense.

Unfortunately, there isn't an official article detailing the exact calculation yet. However, based on mechanics in similar MMOs, the system could work like this:

Evasion acts as a chance to completely avoid an attack.

Accuracy counteracts Evasion by increasing the chance to hit.

The final hit chance could involve a formula like:

Final Hit Chance = Base Hit Chance × (1 - (Evasion ÷ Accuracy Scaling Factor))

Where the scaling factor determines how much evasion reduces accuracy.

Until Intrepid provides more details, the best way to test it would be in Alpha 2 by comparing actual hit rates in combat logs.

If you’ve already updated your graphics card drivers but still won’t let you play, try the following steps:

1. Check if the drivers actually updated
   • Open Device Manager (Windows + X → Device Manager).
   • Expand Display adapters and right-click on your graphics card.

   • If it’s still the old one, try manually updating it from the manufacturer’s website (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel).

No, questing is currently not a viable way to level. There are dungeons, but not like a Themepark MMO like WoW. Dungeons are open-world (so Carphin or Steelbloom or the Forge)

I never rename profile.. interesting that that works. I’ve had success hitting the little edit button on the top right corner of a bar. Making/unmaking a change… that seems to trigger a save to new window locations etc

So, I found out that hitting the edit pen, loaded the 'saved' profile.. and kept resetting me when mucking around.
So, then just moved some items, edit the name, save, try the edit pen, nothing happened... boom.. logged out and in all is well in the world.

You can buy the seed from agriculture buildings.

It’s possible that pink bloomeria drop seeds/cotton… you’d need to check the loot tables… that mob type can drop some herbs.

Sometimes running in window mode can help.

Also, knock down your settings if you havent. Just because you think you can run at high settings doesnt mean it will.

It is more boggy sometimes in the starter zone areas.

Check your video card for any recent driver updates.

So I'm a bit confused on how pvp works currently. Can anyone just attack anyone at any time? I've seen twice now where a character was just fighting pve mobs, and another character just walks up and kills them, even though they were not flagged for pvp. If somebody could explain I'd appreciate it. One instance was by the bullywogs near joeva, and the other was just south of lionhold.

Anyone can attack anyone at any time. If they kill someone who they're not in an event against and they're not flagged (purple), the killer will go corrupt (red) and lose worn gear if they die. Many people are however in sanctioned PvP like node wars where citizens of different nodes can kill one another for a period of time anywhere in the two nodes at war. A flag symbol next to their name will signal they're in an event like that, a guild war, or a caravan.

Is it worth going heavy as a mage for the physical damage mitigation? 31.6% phys mitigation with the light armor build at 502 magic power vs 59.5% phys mitigation at 468 magical power. If my understanding of mitagation is correct I'd take nearly 30% less damge to deal only roughly 10% less damage.

Node sieges is what you meant. Node wars don’t affect node level.

Vasalized nodes are on the same team as their parent node. If you don’t want to be, you should become a citizen of a different node. If vasalized nodes even had the ability to declare a war on their parent, the lower level node would be an extreme underdog anyways since lower level nodes will have a much smaller population and less resources to fund war efforts.

But like everything, it is subject to change with feedback and testing. You can share your well constructed feedback on the forums.

The next phase (Alpha 2 Phase 3) is starting May 1. Most players will probably choose to start on a fresh server. Everyone will be lvl 1.

Being in a "large" guild is not required, but having a guild you can learn with, level with, get groups with, and have crafters in, is def an advantage. There are many mediumn and small guilds that work together as well.

i started roughly 2 weeks ago completely by myself. i joined a small guild, and slowly learning the game. I'v already made it to lvl 20 and have completely geared myself to a decent gear level, and made money in the process. i'v made a few connections on my way to 20 and that's helped dramatically. you're not forced to pvp (for the most part) so gear discrepencies don't really matter unless doing caravans or the potential node war stuff potentially coming soon.

does it help to have a guild already or are you possibly behind? yea, sure. will you have players who are way ahead of you in progression? absolutely. but even then you're not locked out of PVE content at your level for the most part because people are constantly grinding new toons. but you'd be behind regardless considering this alpha stage has been out for a couple months and all those people have been playing and accomplished things over the past couple months anyhow. so just hop in, learn the systems and play around with the bois. I personally wish my friends would give the ashes alpha a chance because they (including myself) have played MMO's for years and i know they'd enjoy the game if they gave it a chance.

Right now, it's not 100% confirmed what exact weapon Rogue starts with, but since the Rogue is a dexterity-based class, daggers are very likely to be one of the starting or early available weapons. Even if you don't start with them, you should be able to find or craft level 0 daggers fairly quickly near the starting area. We’ll probably get more details once Rogue is fully playable in Alpha Two.

If you already have a Beta 2 key from Kickstarter, that’s exactly why the Alpha Two bundle isn’t showing or giving you the “Page Not Found” error. The shop automatically hides upgrade options you’re not eligible for. You could reach out to support just to double check, but as of now, that behavior is expected.

Unfortunately, the launcher only allows downloads when the servers are active for testing. If the servers are currently offline, the client won't start downloading. I know it's frustrating, especially with slow internet. The best thing to do is keep the launcher open and ready. As soon as the servers come back online, it should begin downloading automatically. You can also keep an eye on the official Discord or announcements for exact times.

As of now, Intrepid hasn’t officially confirmed if the number of character slots will increase with the release of the Rogue. It’s possible they might adjust it as more archetypes get added during Alpha Two, but there’s no specific info yet. Lets wait to see if they mention it during upcoming livestreams.

I think that level 50 won’t be available at the start of the Third Wave. Intrepid is gradually increasing the level cap throughout Alpha Two testing. So when the Third Wave access begins, the cap will likely still be below 50, depending on how much content is ready for testing at that stage.

They’ll probably raise the cap over time as they add more systems and zones. Keep an eye on the dev updates and livestreams for the most accurate timing.

All you need to do to see that, no, the class skills atm aren't the only ones planned, is to look at some of the PTR changes. Ranger for example has been changed quite a bit in the PTR atm with a new archetype resource, multiple new spells, current spells changed entirely, etc.

One of the devs also said in the PTR that archetypes will be constantly changed, new spells will be added, stuff reworked, etc. in order to make sure all archetypes are fun, engaging, and as equal to each other as possible

The third alpha wave starts May 1st. If you purchase that one, you will not be able to play until then. If you purchase the $110 one you can play now, but the servers are down two days a week, currently until tomorrow, so even if you BUY NOW, you will have to wait.
