I found best to grind out solo with lvl 12-14 1star mobs. The minotaur and plant things are great for that. Got me to 14 in a few hours. Queue up all the commissions for wolves, bears, and minotaur to pick up the extras on way to these destinations

Join a guild and they will help you. If you don't gel with them, find another guild. This game is tough as a solo player, and you coming it at right in the middle when most people have leveled way beyond where you are currently doesn't help your situation. Is there any plans to rework node wars at any point? In my opinion each node should only be able to be at war with one other node at a time. Last night you have winstead at war with 3 other nodes.   calling an emergency election and giving 2 days, 1 to nominate and 1 to vote, right before an election cycle and to allow 2 guilds flood the node with votes with their alts is a pain. 6 guilds that don't have full alt numbers cannot compete.

• Wars
  800 is too high. election was won with 134 votes most being alts. we don't have the man power to end wars.

• guild system is lacking
  small guilds can't compete to gain guild xp. also zerg guilds make it hard to run vans.

This is just to name a few. There's more but I don't want to make this a long vent.

If a mod or a dev can help with answering this, it would give us so much hope. I get this is a test and is subject to change but this testing is fairly toxic from my POV.

anyone happen to know why i cant get the game to run smoothly? this has happened on both computers ive tried playing on. last computer was a ryzen 9, 3080, 32gb RAM. current computer is i7, 3050ti, 16gb RAM and neither of them are able to break 30-45fps. doesnt matter if settings are high or low, have tried tweaking settings and still no luck. i do not mind playing on lowest possible graphics settings, but i just want a smooth experience

The game is not optimized for various setups. They have been clear multiple times that this will lead to people having varying results. While you are not able to break a certain barrier, others have smashed through it. And some others can't even get the game to load. Be happy you can play. Optimization for various hardware setups will occur later towards betas.

Those are just two easily searchable comments with widely varied results. There are many, many more examples out there of people having numbers all over the place.

True, You, however, can use DLSS Swapper, and upgrade the DLSS and Framegen to 310. and increase frames well, barel works on 30 series, but decent improvement on 40 and 50.

Still doesn't change his results since he is using 30 series. People have to play with settings to tweak to what they can get. That you have a high end card and enough knowledge to tweak is great. The average person is used to released, optimized games where they just install and go. But letting those with higher end setups know what worked for you helps.

You probably wont be able to see it now, but once you log into the launcher and before you actually launch the game, There's a dropdown to select either Vyra, or the other two servers. Intrepid is working on some backend systems for vyra specifically and dont want to mess with the other two.

The fact one guild has used more Alts than active players in other nodes to win elections so they could use the flying mounts in their main guild. (They have 3). Constant declaring war on every other node from that node effectively locking out any content for those citizens.

I could get into how much those guilds exploited or traded their gear, gold, or rewards to keep from getting it all deleted. But I feel that ship has been built. Set fire while on the water and blown up with some TNT.

Then there's the fact of certain individuals from those exploits are still around because of their account status.

I found the other Skull and after looking around for a while I tried to look it up and found pretty much nothing except the Skull of thunder is dropped by Chief Bludthunder. I have no idea where he is. I found Big Bludthunder, but I can't attack him and don't think he is who I am looking for.

I know a lot of people don't feel the quests should be done. But I like them and would like to test them.

Might finally jump into the alpha next week. Heard about this game back in 2016 and followed it closely for a year before convincing myself that it was another star citizen but looks like it’s finally coming together now.

Decent amount of content to jump into? Based on videos and some feedback it looks like there’s enough to invest a good amount of time into it. I assume nothing progress wise transfers to the full release which realistically is still probably a couple years out.

There will be a wipe before full release. There's content now, but concerns of a wipe coming May 1st (Phase 3). May 1st (Phase 3) will also mark 24/7 uptime vs 24/5ish uptime now.

I assume the progress will be wiped on Beta/Alpha3, and maybe the last beta versions would transfer to release(i doubt tho), which realisticly is most likely 2-3 years away.
There is content, but expect bugs, issues, lack of content, incomplete mechanics and... a harsh progression.
The game is not easy and its not really like any MMO i've ever played, the closest current feel that I can somewhat see resemble to AoC is classic WoW (in terms of world/challenge. barely have any indicators on the map, you kinda get thrown and have to figure it out yourself.

Not all of the classes are available. (no dual archetype yet and no Rogue/summoner[expected to release soon, at least rogue])
But the game does look REALLY promising as the true next gen MMO that we have been waiting for, but again.. the wait is still here.

There is a lot of mob grinding currently at the game (i havent played myself too much but thats the main thing I did for the first few hours and im still below level 8), but you can still take a feel of what the world would look like, combat, the classes etc.

I'd probably suggest waiting for Alpha 3. I would only recommend trying the game now if you want to test it and give feedback, and maybe have some effect on the progression of the game. While I do want to support the game and I do not regret buying it, I kinda bought it out of boredoom and nothing to play, but at the current state its really more testing than actually enjoying the content.

There is, depending on Kickstarter package a one or two day headstart on specific tagged servers, this was pointed out to them to be walking the line of p2w, so they changed how those servers will function to not affect gameplay until everyone can log in. That is pretty much the only "Ashes has P2W!" argument you will see thrown around.

Just remember to expect a far-from-full game, that mainly has it's core mechanics/gameplay, but lacks the content to it.
Steven said in that video I sent that around 80% of the games core gameplay is in the game, but maybe like 20% of the actual content.
So it deoes give some indication of what the game may be in the future, in terms of core mechanics, but there isn't enough content yet.
This alpha's main purpose is to test, give feedback and improve the game as much as possible, so if you do end up buying - just keep that in mind.

With that in mind, what is the inherent risk to the attacker for a node siege? The rewards have been discussed many times - node destruction, access to storages, etc...but never the risk on behalf of the attacking node.

This is how current TTK works

There is zero amount of defense you can build or abilities you can activate that prevents this other than you being not in range or by killing me first

Once you hit ~450ish Power, either in Magic or Phys depending on class, this is basically how it works

Mages can do it better, Rangers are very good at it, Fighters are pretty good, Bard can do it, Cleric not so much but Cleric in a 1v1 wins unless you can instantly oneshot them through full shields and pre-healing

The reason that it's like this is because Enchanting is supposed to be +1% power to gear, but there was a stat squish from Phase 1 to Phase 2, so items that had hundreds of points worth of stats now have like, 4

And since Enchanting has a minimum bonus of +1, even if +1 is more than 1%

It means that an item with 1 Int gets +1 Int, which isn't +1% power, it's +100%

Defensive stats suck and don't do anywhere near enough until you are so far into the deep fields of BIS that almost nobody is really getting there

Many people play from other regions on the US servers. Their ping varies on location and internet potential. I play from Japan and the game is just fine for me. Others play from Aus or NZ and depending on their setup have ping comparable to someone in the US.

Regarding the arrival of some secondary archetypes during phase 3, are we getting to try the Cleric and Tank as secondary archetypes for all classes, or all classes as secondary archetypes for Clerics and Tanks only ?
The phase 3 roadmap says "Secondary archetypes for Cleric and Tank", which hints at the latter from what I understand, but the wiki says "The first two secondary archetypes will be Cleric and Tank then others will follow", with two sources that don't clarify it IMO.

This was clarified in a stream at some point. The cleric and tank secondaries will be available for all classes. (It would be kinda silly if only cleric and tank could get access to all sorts of augments)

So regardless of what class you choose, there will initially be the choice of augmenting with either tank or cleric abilities.

Play with your settings. The 10x series is the bare minimum for this title currently under specs. People have gotten various results mixing their settings. Going all low can result in even worse. Optimization is not planned until much later in testing.

What you may be referencing is a NPC that is provided occasionally on the PTR. Since that is often wiped each session, Intrepid does that when specific testing is needed. The normal A2 servers do not.
