Yes the keys on the store rn gives access all the way till launch. The game at launch doesn't have a "box cost" (e.g. a $60 price tag to buy the game). It only has a monthly subscription cost which includes any future expansions

@idle siren So I’m trying to understand the intended game design. There is a considerable amount of what I consider griefing, of people 5+ lvls higher than us stunning and preventing us from gathering. They won’t do it when on levels are around but they’re happy to bully you alone. They call it contesting but we obviously can’t do anything.

This locks us out financially as we can’t gather, run caravans ( they kill us there too), and they steal our mobs. I was under the impression this is a competitive game but this to me is excessive and stifles lower lvl players from growing. Most of the community seems to scoff when you say anything. Is this the game functioning as intended or is there hope for some protections against this later?

While they have reduced the wait times from the holiday glut of tickets, remember there are currently only two dedicated CS team members (though they add more as flex helpers internally when available, they have to know the CS job to not make mistakes) so tickets are in a backlog. In the past Intrepid has a good track record of keeping stuff to a couple business days max for responses, but in heavy periods like now they get backed up. Just gotta wait.

Chances are a mule is a either a mount or a slottable for a caravan. You should be given a mount if you did the initial artisan quest in Lionhold/Samia's Hope.

Hello everyone, I have a question about crafting - or jewelry specifically. I'm new to the game, so I decided to try going into jewelry. But I only crafted 2 items - one zinc ring an done zinc pendant. My mining meanwhile is at level 8 somehow - I spend all my resources buying Zinc from marketplace (I rarely come across it in the node). The same for copper. I even crafted a mining pylon to help me with this, but it literally did nothing.
So, what am I doing wrong? is there a more efficient way of leveling up crafting? Or is the game still not at the point, where it's possible?

I believe they are working on updating how gatherables spawn in. I'm pretty sure it's still an issue where tier one materials can run dry so to speak when they respawn as higher tier ones that less people can use. So that should get better eventually.

crafting is really a slog to lvl.. most guilds feed resources to dedicated crafters its really tough to do it solo

When I read the wiki it sounded like it calculated disparity between enemy level being killed and furthest player level in party, someone in global says its difference of party levels only. Also if we know %penalty based on those differences that would also be good to know.

Currently you get stats for whatever is in your ranged slot, and what is in your melee. Dual wielded weapons will eventually be a single item that is equipped. So you would not be equipping two separate swords for example or a weird combo of say sword and one handed spear to get those bonuses stacked.

Skill issue, build issue, many different ways it could happen. Some build as support mages, your abilities proc statuses for others to build off of. If your goal is to just play the game, then hold off until beta at least. It's not in a state where you can't expect to not be constantly affected by bugs and some stuff is a bit of a hot mess. It's great fun to play in my opinion but you will be a tester, not a player so you can't have the expectations of a player. Though Intrepid have an amazing refund policy so you can always give it a shot.

Disconnect Discord from the AoC Website... sign out of Discord and the Website... restart computer... sign into the website and then sign into Discord and attempt to reconnect. Would advise to probably try a seprate browser than the one you attempted it on. Edge seems to have the least issues from the people I have helped this with before. Also as Arc said try to do this in incognito/private mode as well.

Also sign out of Discord on any other device you might have it open on like a phone.

I know they are tracking this one and working on it, and submitted an ingame bug report, and am leaving that inventory empty in the hopes not to muddy the waters on what object or stack load might have been the trigger. I too had my storage inventory vanish (in Joeva), a couple of days ago. I looked to see what I had in another node, set it back to Joeva and EVERYTHING was gone. It was a pretty hard hit. **I would suggest you put in a ticket on the ashes website **as well as the bug report you already did. I'm not playing that character much in hopes of at least a rollback... and because it's depressing since she was about to make several new tools and lost a lot of mats. Hopefully they find a fix.

Got it, so the trick is we need to be prepared to fight a dozen pirates at least for each caravan. We've ran with 9 players that were level 15 and were hit by 50 pirates that were max level. It sounds like that's just the normal endgame loop. Thank you for the advice!

No, there are almost no planned instance dungeons for Ashes. The large dungeon recently added was dwarven themed. The pocket dungeons are still on the PTR and are basically small areas, out of the way where there is a specific mob type and a mini boss there.

the problem is finding what things are actually worth, having an auction house like wow would make it far easier.
Plus i don't wanna spam global for 2 hours to try and sell some resource, at that point i just vendor it and farm mobs for gold.

For now you need to find a new spot. When the dynamic content is in place, the content will be dependent on “world state” which can be the levels of nearby nodes, events that have gone off recently, what race is most popular in an area, and combinations of those and many other factors. Generally they are slow moving so it’s not like you outlevel a spot and then can spend an hour working to increase or change the mobs at that same spot

Its not hard I found the price of half a dozen resources I wanted to sell in 10 minutes.

If no one is buying when you try to sell your prices are too high or no one wants those resources.

It's just basic marketing It's more enjoyable than the AH to trade and forces more community engagement.

Wow sucks because they siphoned all the comradery out of the game.

Group finders, AH, limiting trade items, making crafting pointless etc..

What makes MMOs fun is forcing you to need other players and to interacting with them.

I believe this will still happen in ashes even with a node based auction house, but it'll open up opportunities for people to make $ by hauling goods from farming locations to teh central auction house.

Is there even a benefit to owning a node outside of the flying mount? it's not like you can gain a portion of the taxes, it's just more work managing the node.

Right now the game is in alpha testing, phase 2. The $110 price is for access to alpha testing. It is not a finished game. An alpha 2 key will give you access to all alpha and beta testing, and 1 month sub.

At launch, there is no purchase price, it will only be a sub. (Launch is a few years away)

Most all successful and long lasting MMOs are sub based. This forces the developers to keep making meaningful content. The only other way around it is to implement P2W which Ashes won’t do.

Noob Question on Caravans: If you join a guild, can glint be shared within a guild for the purposes of a caravan to raise gold for the guild? Or is it an honor system, where you have to farm your own glint, and distribute proceeds among or to the guild?

Thanks for the clarification on this. I was talking to others and they said, while you are not protected, yet, by the caravan - it takes attackers a long time to destroy it. So if they get you, you can negotiate (hopefully), with them, lol.

I think 99% of the time they just destroy your caravan and crowbar crates. (Assuming you're solo)
The caravan system needs some work because right now I personally wouldn't even run one outside of having a giant guild event.

For example, Silkroad online which has a system that's almost 1:1 ashes caravans, force you to join the thief faction, flag up as thief FROM TOWN and then go out and hunt.

"Hunters" can kill thiefs at any point to deter them.
But ashes just allows you to attack a caravan the second you see one with basically 0 risk.
