Anyone know how the AoC world builder works? Particularly with node spawning. Since nobody can really hit rank 2 journeyman nodes, I think what's happening is that the world is filling up with these because the world builder randomly spawns nodes from rank 0 - 2. What would be preferable is that if a certain area has level 1-9 mobs, it spawns rank 0 nodes, if level 10-19 mobs it would spawn rank 1 nodes, if 20-29 mobs then rank 2 nodes, etc. but it doesn't seem to work that way.

wondering if in their world builder tool if nodes are placed by type and rank or if it's currently only type (with a randomized rank).

if the rank is just randomized, that would make sense why after a server reset there's more low rank nodes, but as time goes along, the world fills up with more and more rank 2 nodes, since nobody can clear them yet.

Howdy all. I am on the Lyneth server and spawned a caravan out of New Aela. Upon spawning I crashed and then immediately logged back in. My caravan is no where to be seen but I have the Caravan Event (Protect the caravan) displaying in the area my caravan was spawned in. It is not in my inventory nor is it located at the New Aela caravan master.

Anyone have something similar happen, and were they able to get their caravan back?

If you wanna 'jack of all trades' it, you're most likely gonna end up with a lot of processing professions if you wanna gather and process everything, but the system really tries to specialize you and even then you'll probably end up having to buy something or get it from a guildie. At least until we can easily share inventories with alt toons

So is having someone run a whole bunch of wild mobs on my group and take all our stuff an intended gameplay mechanic part of their “not everyone’s a winner” philosophy. Not against it just sometimes it feels a little rough since I’ll loose durability and then the glint I had to sell to repair it with so it’s a lot of losing on something that felt somewhat out of my control. If this gameplay is intended it would just be nice if we had a small maybe 2x2 bag that wouldn’t drop on death just so I could repair still after a couple of grief attempts.

Your animal husbandry is lvl 1 hunting and animal husbandry are different skills. You need lvl 10 in animal husbandry to make it.

I thought they were ignoring my request for a refound because I don't have any confidence in the project or the development plan they have. In fact, this Alpha is not even close to an Alpha2, it would be a Pre-Alpha 1 at most. Terrible performance, terrible graphics, and I have an RTX 4080. Support with processors in my case the i9-13900k is terrible. The game closes every now and then due to the same error they have with these types of processors. Only a few missions work, etc. etc.

Has anyone else had any problems with processors like mine or higher?

I was looking at this recipe in the Lumbermill and might be wrong, as I often am. But wouldn't you cut wood into timber or logs? Once wood is cut into timber, it's used for planks and the like. Logs would be more for fuel. Each step should produce saw dust, no? I know it's a video game, and perhaps I'm overthinking it.

Ya you don’t really need to even group yet. Do some commissions quests. Do the “find 6 parcels” quest and turn them into the strider dude in front of a tent near any of the nodes. This will give you 3 pieces of green gear great for lower level.

@obsidian knoll being able to bully smaller guilds with a "resource war" that allows you to open field combat in any zone without repercussions is a toxic situation for the game. Zerg guilds will declare war for pennies on the dollar to smaller guilds to steal their farm spots. I hope this gets changed, maybe to where you can only pvp that guild in an allocated zone for farming the resource that is required.

No, there is plan for that announced currently beyond the caravan system for things like mayoral projects. If someone buys something from you, they have to travel to your location to pick it up if they have bought it remotely (a rare case situation when an economic node has progressed to the point of having vendors that can be browsed from a distance)

This keeps people from "cheesing" various risk mechanics built into the planned economic systems for the game.

If you think that you are using a broken mechanic to gain advantage (mobs not attacking back, glitched into terrain, or are easier than intended due to broken mechanics) then you probably are. Finding a bug and reporting it is intended. Repeatedly using that bug to cheese exp is not. Do as you like, but if you get actioned you will know why.

I had this issue since start of p2, and it was driving me crazy, i just managed to fix the issue. If youre still suffering from no nameplates. "C:\Users%Userprofile%\AppData\Local\AOC\saved" and i deleted the "SaveGames" folder. Seems to house settings, and deleting it and restarting the game gave me working settings again.

(note it will reset more or less any other setting and ui setup)

Hi all, new here. Had some questions that I'd be curious to get some answers to before I get the game. Please note that I come from New World, and these are problems that killed off our servers there.

1. I understand that PvP is central to this game. While not my preference, I can understand the appeal. However, is there a way to prevent high-level players from griefing low-level players, particularly over items that are required for progression? In New World, as a healer (with a very good build, I might add) I'd be repeatedly beset by tanks and DPS that were already max, especially at quest bosses. And no, "just wait" and "get friends" are shitty responses to a social problem that only happens with PvP.
2. I've seen that towns are able to go to war. New World's faction system didn't work due to an imbalance of towns and their value. Is there a system that protects a town from being repeatedly sieged by other towns? Is there a benefit to being a vassal town to a larger town? And how difficult is it to change/overthrow a town's...standing? Influence? Whichever you'd call it.
3. Mayors of each town are going to be chosen in different ways. With the proliferation of 3rd party currency sellers, what will be done to prevent people from buying gold from a third party and using that to become Mayor?

1. the corruption system when fully in place will make killing players that are much lower level then you a rly rly bad idea

2. if a siege fails there is a long CD before it can be sieged again but if the siege succeeds the node is destroyed fully so a smaller node will always be in danger of getting wiped if you piss of a bigger node/guild

3. outside of there normal RMT prevention and systems to detect those things there arent anything specific to preventing your specific issue

and also pls never compare New World to this game its nothing like it

Realize that most quality of life and cosmetic options are low priority at this stage in the alpha. They have bigger game breaking systems and mechanics issues to fix before they worry that characters look pretty.

So from all of the testing I’ve done, I’ve concluded the following:

All enemies have a (relatively) static spawn location.

Some spawn locations have the ability to spawn in a version of an enemy that can be hunted, but others will never produce a variant that can be hunted.

Some spawn locations always produce variants that can be hunted, but the spawn rates are more infrequent and I haven’t been able to observe any noticeable patterns.

The question is:

Is this the expected interaction with spawns or are we seeing bugs for some spawns?

Suggestion... The Ranger Characters regularly burst into a green light with a loud sound. There are thousands of these across the servers going off somewhere every second. Wouldn't it use fewer server resources if the action and sound were only activated when actively fighting? The towns are choppy enough. Removing this drain might help performance.

Putting this here for people looking into this for future reference. Mayoral Commission Depot doesn't require you to actually deposit the stones/ores anywhere. You can just click "complete commission" in quest log and it will automatically complete. Edit: You must have the ores/stones or wood in your material bag for this to work properly.

Probably for the same reason that using Discord to tell your hundreds of guild members where to go isn't going to be actioned either. Impossible to stop. There is an answer for it. It will not be the one you want, but it what you are probably going to get and have to live with. Stream sniping (as in hurting the feelings of the "creator") costs Intrepid money if they make someone with hundreds of followers in game mad by not "taking their side" in marginal calls of "this guy was OBVIOUSLY watching my stream to target me" and is bad for their marketing backend. While your caravan, it is content. Enjoy being content.

It's also that caravans are a designated PvP event. If you use the streamers stream to see where they're running a caravan and then attack it, you won't get in trouble. But if you use a streamers stream to find out where they are and gank them repeatedly in the open-world for no reason, then yeah you will, but that's expected for anyone regardless of if you're a streamer

That's just because flying mounts currently don't have their full functionality in. The plan is eventually for you to need to mount up from a Royal Stable in order to fly with them and they also have a limited flight time per mount up
