So now that gear crafting is pointless until we get to journeyman or whatever the max level becomes, is there any plan to make crafted gear worth the mat grind again? Even if it was something like all crafted gear gets a 20% across the board stat buff that would be worth it. I have a run of the mill green level 20 short bow that somehow competes with legendary lvl 10 gear. It means that there’s no point in crafting gear until the servers get to journeyman as the power jump is so small.

There will be options once guild upgrades are implemented. A guild will be able to choose an increased size, or increased bonuses. Alliances will also have stat/buff benefits to forming. Larger guilds will likely still have I, II, III, etc and then have specialized guilds for specific tasks. Then use the alliance feature to give benefits across the board. This is speculatory though, only time will tell.

uhm, I don't know where to write it, but I think i got a weird bug: My character is getting constantly dmg over time. It draines HP and Mana like a curse/dot? Well I mean, each guild itself would only get the benefits of the small guild. Alliance benefits would be a separate tech tree. For example guild I gets bonus gathering traits, guild II gets combat traits, guild III gets crafting traits. Followed by alliance of guild 1-3 gets something like a small xp increase or buff when in close proximity.

I still think that defeats the purpose. Maybe im wrong. But I feel like the devs understand that not everyone wants to be in a guild with 100+ people, so they made it more possible to have a smaller guild by adding buffs/stats to guilds under a certain threshold. So if a larger guild is splitting into 4 small guilds to abuse that, it would defeat the purpose. But maybe they dont care about small guilds like im thinking they do

They wouldn't really be abusing it though as only 1/4 of the total guild would be getting a buff at any given time. There would be significant drawbacks to both trying to become the largest guild, or a small guild. Imagine a guild war vs a guild 4 times your size simply because you chose to split your og guild into 4 small ones for bonuses.

You'd also be limiting yourself from forming strong alliances with other guilds outside of your own

Well how im thinking of it, is small guilds get the buff because they have less people than the guild with 100-300 people, so they get buffs that try and get them on the same level

For example if we have 50 people, and we get a 20% gathering buff, the guild with 200 people will still be gathering more than us just based off of sheer man power

I started a new character on Vyra a couple days ago to check out the server. The respawn rate has basically been turned off for my level 7 character. Mobs take so long to respawn at this level that I cant even estimate the respawn time. I died to a lv 30 golem's disintegrate beam that one shot me and my exp debt got set to -1 and any exp I earn pushes it further into the negative. I do 0 damage with anything because of the absurd stat dampening from having negative exp debt.
Getting some exp from gathering and dying to a mob/player fixes this temporarily but it always comes back every time I log in and sometimes when I swap server workers.
Is there any way to permanantly fix this? It's basically bricked my character and suicide is only a temporary fix. If I crash while I'm out doing anything then I have to die and waste materials and money.

I have a friend who bought access to the alpha last night.. They were able to log in, make a character, and do the first quest until they got into lionhold and their game crashed. Now they are getting stuck at 75% loading when trying to come back into the game. They have tried restarting the launcher, game, their PC... is there something they can do to get back into the game?

On the launcher there is a button on the laft hand side to Repair. Would do that then as well use the Clear Game Cache Settings button that is located in the menu located on the top right corner cog wheel on the launcher under the Game tab.

Clear Cache after using Repair.

Then restart computer and attempt to launch into game after that.

Also make sure that the PC meets min spec and it is installed on a SSD not a HDD

If you don't fight back, you don't get flagged, so they can't kill you for free and your killer is punished with corruption. Nobody wants that. I've got killed that way once, and my killer dropped 2 items, so I think that it's scary thing to mjrder innocent people.

What relly sucks are people with no life, that will lure mobs on your team, but that needs just some teamwork and constant awarness to deal with.

TLDR: Check your Memory using Memtest86 if you BSOD with Memory based errors, also do a full wipe of AOC/Intrepid and any Appdata Folders then fresh install (I used Revo Uninstaller).

2TB Samsung 990 Pro M.2 (Full Windows Install Dual Booting for testing as secondary Drive)
512GB Samsung 970 EVO M.2 (Full Windows Install here as well)

After about 10 mins of being in game (numerous repairs and reinstalls) game crashed to desktop and couldn't get back in. After patching and multiple attempts at Repair I would get to the black "Connecting" screen and it would crash to back to the launcher. I tried reinstalling the game, running as Admin for the installer and launcher, and repairing each time in between whenever I got the decompressing error. I did go as far as uninstalling the entire game and reinstalling but my issue persisted. In some instances I would get a BSOD which based on the errors lead me to using memtest86 v11 to test my memory.

Essentially 1 bad stick and so now I am currently running dual channel at 16GB, but I still got the same issue of crashing to the launcher when the game launched! So the finals step in my solution involved using Revo Uninstaller to completely wipe any trace of AOC/Intrepid. I also went into Appdata > Local and Backed up the AOC/Intrepid Folders by moving to a new location on my drive. After going through a full reinstall I was finally able to get into the game and so far so good.

Its not the only way. It does spawn, it is out there, many players know their farm routes and farm it.

I believe Steven has said that there is alot of copper already farmed and out there, its just sitting in peoples banks, ect ect.

So ask to buy, trade, farm and sell other things to make money (glint is an easy farm).

I hear you though, it can be frustrating to not find it to farm. You are not alone.

I appreciate the information though I'm a little skeptical atm. I don't want the game to gaslight me into thinking something else was wrong. I know some other people chock it up to an error code 32 and I sometimes think it has to do more with network problems rather than your ram or hardware. Especially when it crashes without an error back to desktop after "connecting" and I don't know abouit you, but once you connect, I don't have that problem again. I've actually, for me, replicated the problem by connecting with VPN on, and turning it off while in game. I've tried everything to get it back running again and the only way I can is to load the game up 30-50 times sometimes.

i have starlink. before shortly after alpha 1 started i couldint log in. somone who had starlink told me to change my IP through the app after starting my stystem over and connect to wifi. it worked

You connecting with ethernet vs wifi to your own router/access point is most likely irrelevant. Their servers won't know if you're connected to your wifi or not. Could be a NAT or DNS issue

I'm not sure what their internal error codes mean so I'm not sure what that specific code means, but just saying that their servers shouldn't care about you connecting with ethernet vs wifi. They won't have any way of knowing one way vs the other. You changing your IP only affects your local network, not your public IP. You can't change your public IP easily.

I'm a software engineer and have been working in IT for several years, and you having to buy a new wifi dongle to make the game work makes zero sense to me. That only affects your local network connection, not your connection with public services like games. Weirder stuff has happend, but knowing everything I know about tech, that wouldn't do anything. I would google how to verify your DNS and NAT settings and go down that route.

Yeah, my 4070 ti super just came in. I found the sg.ResolutionQuality setting, put it at 100, and man the game looks better. Doesnt address the DLSS problem though

@idle siren Can you please clarify to people that Mob Training to WIN THE BEST FREAKIGN SPOTS IN THE GAME is a legit tactic with its own pros and cons? The game is so much better with it. I made some post on the forums defending it and the incredible game design behind it. I see all these people complaining about the game, or how bored they are or alpha 2 stuff. Fuck that shit, I have been having the time of my LIFE man, they are playing it wrong imo. This game is AWESOME! Total adrenaline rush pulling like crystal golem to win the book spot in carph and then the enemy team tries to pull 2 golems on us and WE AHDNLES IT LIKE CHAMPIONS AND DIDNT WIPE. we owned that spot until all the 4 mages got their books and so did I! I was buzzing high on the fact that our PUG was taking over the best spots using the game design as intended. Please dont take this away from us. Mob Training and defending Mob Trains on these hard spots is so incredibly fun and rewarding. People are really missing out.

If you want to know which town has it, just zoom in on the town and check if the background of the icon is blue-ish. If it's fully grey, that means it's still a ''novice'' building. If it has a blue-ish tint to it, it's upgraded to apprentice

I personally feel as though questing is viable. It's definitely not as fast though. I am a tank, so I spend more for repairs, and lose more glint than party mates so make less, resulting in it being harder to do group content without a lot of money that i earn from caravans.

So I just farm wolfs and other townboard quests for the most part. Now that I finally made some money I am going to do some group content again though.

you can use all the stations

you start with something like cutting a log, then put it in the carpentry machine to make a plank. then you mine some copper, and smelt it into fragments. then you combine those with a thing u make at the stoneworking station to make a pick for yourself.

you won't be able to get to really high levels in everything on one character, but that's what alts are for 🙂
