So being out of range either you are simply:

• standing there pressing the button
• triggering a movement animation until you are in range then casting the e skill

I don’t see who is benefiting from this at all, if you out of range or not aiming at the rather you can miss the skill, which is fine. This just seems like I can find no reason for it. Is the people giving feedback selfish somehow? Is the developers trying to force you into doing what they want by quick fixes? What? I don’t get it. Make skills able to cast or this game is gonna suck; sorry to be honest here.

Looks like it generates through 'threat'. Tank has a lot of abilities that increase threat whereas other classes would likely generate it through damage.

Well, like anything else. If the servers are off, they are off. The current test is meant to run until Jan 6th with no breaks beyond what they need for downtime to fix issues. After that it goes to 5 days a week. If they purchase right now, then yes, they can get immediate access, if they wait till the 7th, they would have to wait till next time servers are active.

Yep, but make sure they understand what is involved. They are testing an alpha client, not actually playing a game for fun (they may have fun anyways) It is not easy, and if you take a glimpse at any of the other channels you can guage the stress levels for yourself.

As far as I know when I got the wolf mount last phase, you need to find that creature with a Hunt cross hairs symbol above them, pet them by pushing F, and there’s a chance that creature will drop a tameable mount in your inventory which you can take to the animal husbandry place to raise into a potential mount or Caravan beast of burden. FYI it cost about 30-50 silver to raise it. It’s a 50% to be a Mount or Beast of burden.

The map feels so tiny at the moment since there’s an increase of 6k players per server. The problem at the new desert zone is there’s nothing you can do besides kill bugs. Cause of it, the nodes there are getting xp at a snails pace. If there’s more gathering nodes, points of interests and events there, then people would be more inclined to go there and the disbursement of people would be better.

Abilities going on CD and not registering or when they do they don't do any damage - Have an ability that ticks over time? Forget about it, you might get 1 in 10 ticks. Trying to leash mobs? uhhh no. But I just made a toon like 10 min ago, and was okay in lionhold, i did that mount quest SO FAST, do not touch anything else, turn everything else off on your compuer, no browers windows, turn off discord even. No quests, nothing. just horse and go

I think this will be an on going battle to get the kids to grasp this concept and stop worrying about getting levels and gear faster than everyone else and focus on the details of the game. But I’m right there with ya bud.

Is it considered an exploit to circumvent the corruption system?

For example, correct me if I’m wrong as I’ve only had one brief interaction with it, but it seems exceedingly easy to get around it.

Only the player who gets the final hit gains corruption. And, as far as I am aware they lose this corruption on death. So… a group of determined individuals could easily circumvent this system by leaving a single member of their party to get all the final hits, then ‘clear’ this corruption by removing them from the party and killing them periodically. They drop their gear, which can then be traded back, and the system can continue. The rest of the party would never suffer anything more than a fleeting purple tag. And never have any of their own gear at risk outside of their materials.

This seems like a major flaw in the system and something that I literally ran into by accident just cause someone took my loot and I killed em to get it back… then had my party member grab my stuff after I got killed for being a red name.

Like even on a much more basic level. If you die while corrupted, a group member can simply pick up your gear before an enemy can, and then it’s entirely safe even if that group member is then killed.

So it seems like corruption is only effective against an individual not a group.

Corruption has levels and is not cleared by a single death at higher levels. In addition there is a PERMANENT (currently) kill counter that does not go away and influences how much corruption you gain on subsequent kills. With the stat and movement losses, that single designated character will soon be ineffective at landing that "final blow" and will be red for so long that you will just need to delete the character vs the time investment to get it back green. The corruption system is not fully implemented yet and while you may find your initial forays into it not a deterrence, many others have.

Don't worry, they are there. And your time red will increase as you need multiple deaths to clear later.

If you get corruption up to 5 stacks or Corruption V, its a 90% reduction in attack strength.

It sounds… counter-intuitive. Why have it at all if it’s intended to be so harsh that repeated offenses force you to delete a character, anything that stacks like that, what’s the duration exactly on these stacks, is it an all at once thing or does it go down one stack at a time?

Not really half-baked, honestly. If you're someone that goes around killing anyone and everyone you see. Chances are you would be pretty severely punished IRL.

It gives a very hard barrier to people just griefing simply because they can.

There is a whole wiki section on how player corruption works, is planned to work, and is going to work. Like any other system currently it is in testing, and many changes will come. After 7 years of feedback and reeee, one thing that isn't happening is that it is going away.

From a game design standpoint lol. If you don’t want people going around killing one another… don’t let them. Rather than creating a system that punishes it so severely.

What benefit does allowing unflagged kills bring to the game that is worth the overly harsh counterbalance? Like… if next time I kill someone who takes my loot would make me need to delete my character I’d rather just lose the loot lol.

Why does anyone in games like Tarkov kill other players? And non-combatants can attack and kill corrupted players without becoming corrupted themselves.

Or even becoming combatants, if I read it right.
