google chrome and similar web browsers will usually gobble up about 5-10 gigs of RAM on its own. so if you shut down everything else but AOC then the min specs should be accurate. but minimum specs does not mean that it will be an enjoyable or playable experience

close everything else and only run ashes next time see if it helps

well, current level cap is 25, out of 50, and none of secondary archetypes have been implemented, so we don't know.

Classes aren't in yet, but yes there's a difference between those. Mage + Fighter is Mage primary which means you only get Mage spells. Fighter + Mage is Fighter primary which means you only get Fighter spells

The secondary archetype gives you the augments for that archetype, so a Fighter + Mage will get Mage augments which might be Fire/Ice/Lightning/Arcane that can be applied to your Fighter abilities

i have a question about boosting, but some just some set-up questions that i'll build upon:

• if i'm in party with someone low level, they don't get as much exp if we kill a mob, right? say i am 10 levels above them
• i also believe if my party member are the same level, but we kill a mob that is much higher level than us, we don't get that much more exp from it

are these assumptions correct?

someone with a higher level will get more XP if the deficit is too large

lvl 10 and lvl 10 would get 50%-50%
lvl 10 and lvl 12 would get 45%-55% ? (or some discount will happen, not exact numbers)
lvl 10 and lvl 20 would be like 25%-75% (or some discount will happen, not exact numbers)

I don't know what the actual level difference is but if you are over or under 9(i think) lvls away from a mob you will not get any xp or items. So a lvl 7 hitting and killing a lvl 20 won't do anything.

I think it is 4 levels +- to receive/share experience, anything over that affects exp, and drops.

If someone is holding agro of a mob and a lower level player is trying to kill it for xp. It will take a long time to kill it compared to finding level appropriate mobs to kill with a group of people who are within 3~ levels of you/the mob.
So not really worth it, especially if you need gear

"boosting" wont be much of a factor as:

1. player-level isnt a contributing factor to many aspects of the game. yes you gain skillpoints and spells, but most of the game is designed around group play, social interaction etc
2. progression in religion, in artisanship etc are more important
3. "boosting" is hindered by a few game-mechanics where the boosting rarely gives a bonus over "normal" progression with friends of the same level

• "Babysitting" is a hugetimesink. you are literally babysitting the person your helping to level, thus not activly contributing to world-pvp, artisanship or caravanning in any way or form
• "Babysitting" does not give the babysitter any xp, loot or otherwise, unless via trades. its a huge time-investment, and as mentioned in previous bulletspoints, it did not significantly impact XP/Hour for those that are good in following a guide or know what they are doing in an 8man group with a tank/cleric setup

literally as stated before. cheesing it with the lvl 25 and IA holding the aggro while the rest just DPS it down.
point is though that it isnt faster. the lvl 25 tank holding aggro is the same (for xp-gains) as a level-appropriate tank holding the aggro. having a group is the only "boost" you need.

Enchanting is not an artisan profession in its own right. Scribes create scrolls that can be utilized by different professions to create enchantments relating to that profession.

Enchantment scrolls can be sold on the open market.

They didn't send out emails for phase one. Just go to ashesofcreation.com and download the launcher. When the servers are up this weekend, you can download the client, but you won't be able to log in yet. At least this is how it worked with the second wave of phase 1.

@jolly fossil @dawn spire On death its randomized from your material loot bag at about 25% dropped. 50% of whats dropped can be picked up by other players making them go purple. Pvp flagged for a 60-90 sec timer. If you kill a white name player, non-combatant, you stack corruption and blight(hidden stat). The more corruption you have the more actual gear that you are wearing that you can drop. 1 stack of corruption is like 1-2 pieces of gear. Plus a bunch of other stat negations to your stats. Blight is a forever stat you stack that as you become more and more corrupt by killing white names more often the faster you stack multiple levels of corruption per kill. 8gb vram is what the minimum gpu recommended has but more is always better and ensures long term future proofing for both this game and others

Go google what the recommended gpu instead of the minimum has for vram specs and use that as a guide

Ask yourself if you can buff your friends now with the max cap at level 25. Can you? If not then I'd assume that won't fly at level 50 either. If yes then I'd assume you could at level 50.

As a healer I ran around out of party keeping lower level friend alive as they leveled just fine. So levels currently don't matter for buffs

Didn't know healing was a buff -- at least I don't consider it a buff (in the traditional sense). One might have a compelling case saying, "Well, you are buffing their health.". Now if you could cast a true 'buff' on someone to say... raise a stat base on their character then I'd think of that as a true buff.

Anyone ask about knowledge of wipe, I myself think that if everything progress compared to now i mean there has been no wipe untill phase 2 starts. So with that in mind we can expect it to go up to 3 wipes before game launch, reason why i believe that is when part 3 come's a lot more shit will have come, lot more changes, and they need (reliable) data to adjust to those changes variables before beta 1 and 2. So they will wipe once they want to start phase 3, and when the beta come's they do the same for them. This i believe is without Major bugs or something that screw the servers over, unless a whole group of guilds does some kind of super cheating that forces them to reset 1 or 2 servers. I expect a minimum of 3 total wipes before game launch. Feel free to tell me i am wrong.

Any archetype can use any weapon. You could be a Tank primary with a Wand or a Mage primary with a 2h Axe. Bard+Ranger probably wouldn't give you any extras with a bow

You can respec with no Cooldown right now, but you lose all XP above the level you demoted to.
So for example, I went Apprentice Lumberjacking to get Willow, got to Lumberjacking 13, then I demoted it, I went back down to 10.

Yes. You can have 5 apprentice, but of that 5, you can increase further 4 to Journeyman, then 3 to Masters, then 2 to Grandmasters. So the finale is:
2 Grandmasters, 1 Master, 1 Journeyman 1 Apprentice

If you have Mining, Lumberjacking, Animal Husbandry, Herbalism, Taming at Apprentice, then that means you pick from those as you go forward. So you can never progress cooking to Journeyman for example as it wasn't within your original 5 Apprentice ones

This means that the 2 GM + 1 Master + 1 Journeyman + 1 Apprentice is technically correct as your 2 GM would have been part of your original 5 Apprentice Artisan Classess

By fast, I’m assuming you mean faster than other archetypes? If so, the answer is yes in PvP unless you’re strategic with when you go in. The fighter can’t sustain a long skirmish, you have to pick your spot to go in and then get out. In PvE I’ve never had an issue surviving as a fighter, just gotta know how to avoid things.

When someone kills your mount and sets it on a 10min timer to use again, you could pull out a 2nd or 3rd mount. Also who knows if this'll be their final version of how mounts work.

not really, the new player noob area is fine. Since this is the last weekend of phase 1 there is likely an increase in pvp on all servers. Just worry about figuring out the basics. : )

Open world PKing is very punishing for the killer so not many people do it without reason. Killing players much lower level than yourself also comes with a much higher penalty so as a lowbie I wouldn't worry about it.

lol there is no way Im going to reset my keys. I pretty much changed everything. I like to put my movement keys to ESDF instead of WASD and open up the left keys for quick access key binds. So pretty much 90% of my keybinds changed.
