idk if this will help you, I've always had this issue but for me if I just sit there and wait it will next bring up error 33 then 34 then get into the server selection screen. Also does it again with error 34 when swapping servers and again if you logout/switch characters. Takes about 5 mins for me to reach server selection screen

your autoattackes are nothing more than filler when your abilities/spells are on cd. Your class dictates the type of weapon you would want to use. all magic bases classes will gain a lot more from magic weapons boosting thier abilites power then using physical attack weapons and vice versa.

So I recently acquired a blue teir longbow, it was an upgrade from my green teir longbow. The problem i have is, the blue teir longbow auto attacks does 14 -to 20 damage per hit, where as my green teir longbow hits for 120- 303 per auto attack. So I’m new to AoC and I’m only lvl 7, but I just want to know what content is there (if any) that I may be missing. it's mainly farming groups and testing out mechanics as you progress. crafting, gathering ect.
For the grinding mobs at lvl so, go hit the Grems until you're ~10... then go hit the highwaymen for a bit.

Yeah, if you had any experience in an older MMO like EverQuest, you'll primarily be grinding mobs at different camps, trying to hunt down gear from different parts of the world/camps, playing with class synergies and messing around with basic node/guild ownership, caravan runs, and a barebones crafting system.

There's honestly quite a bit to do, especially if you want to experiment with all the different classes, but this is very much alpha, and if the idea of grinding mobs at different camps isn't fun to you (this was mostly what EverQuest was lol), then I'd advise waiting to check back later next year.

So in the current state of artisans. Gathering, crafting, and processing get clothing. At novice, 1-10, you can get a shirt. and at apprentice 10+, you g et shirt and pants, the shirt at apprentice gives quality rarity increase.
this same shirt, can be crafted, and to a legendary rarity, adding like 320+ rarity increase, which currently is like 1 = 1%, or something wild

you make this said shirt, and then craft, turning what would normally be a blue, into a legendary. Add foods or other consumables, and even the pants

and you can use non heroic mats, to make legendary mats.

Now input that you can use different rairty in your 1st crafting slot, and now you use like 1 legendary tin, with 5 common tin, and maybe uncommon other parts, bam legendary

What information do we have on loot/exp split between groups?
Example: Group A fights a boss, does 75% of the health, gets ganked and wiped by group B, which grabs the boss before it resets and finishes killing it. Does the Loot belong to group A because they pulled it or did more damage, until the timer expires and it becomes free to everyone, or does it belong to ground B because they killed it? Does the same happen with the experience? Or is it split 75 % to group A divided between members and 25% to group B divided between members?

Yes, which adds tactics. Do you kill the group, let the boss reset, and hope to kill it yourself before they come back? Do you try to gank last second at like 5% remaining to maximize run time, or try to go for the perfect gank as soon as the boss dies but before anyone has a chance to loot? Also I wonder if high level boss gear might have a "drop on player kill" for a small amount of time after looting whereas you would need to survive without getting ganked, like 3 to 5 mins. Food for thought.

Some of us people have no friends who are invested into Alpha Testing a Game, they'd rather enjoy the full game.
Getting in touch with people in the community is very nice and currently this Alpha is doing me a great service in making me be more social, but I would very much like to test more Systems, because they are more available to me for the sake of testing and gaining more bug reports/feedback.
Right now, I think only the people who managed to reach lvl 25, and get a hardcore guild, etc etc managed to test things like wars, the Dragon World Boss, etc.
I am not worried about when the game releases because I will have all the time in the World to reach a certain peak in progression, but right now, for the sake of testing... a Buff would feel very nice.

This way you can test everything and get more feedback. And still get everyone reach max level.

Is anyone using some sort of msi vector/asus rog with an RTX4070 and i9-13900HX/i9-14900HX?
When I check benchmarks its below my 3070 TI on desktop. But I wonder if DLSS/or similar is taking into account and if it might actually be better.

My understanding is that you can have 5 artisan skills at apprentice cap, 4 of those apprentice can go to journeyman, 3 of journeyman to master and only 2 of those become grand Master.

So you can't have say all (5) of the gathering skills at apprentice AND have journeyman cooking.

TLDR: leveling a skill to journeyman does not allow another novice skill to be apprentice.

They purposely designed the game to be dependent with other players. This also helps for a more fluid economy. If your solo, your better off focusing on gathering and develop a network of credible crafters to make stuff for you. In a large guild, reasources will be funneled to crafters to pump out gear.

Atm the only soloable crafts are cooking and alchemy even then you'll eventually need a GM gatherer or processor to help you with GM level stuff

To answer the question about freeing up a slot for artisanships. No. This does not free up a slot. You can only ever have 5 artisanships past Novice, That means once you get 5 to apprentice. The rest will stay novice, unless you change them around. Then upon 4 of those skills reaching Jman, you can level those up to Jman. But no other skills can be raised from novice to apprentice. 3 skills from the four at jman can be master. and 2 skills from the master can be GrandMaster.

It'll look like this at the end.

Doing anymore crafting skills above novice would mean you cannot GM both skills and make all the necessary items for your said craft. Because weaponsmithing alone take Metalsmithing, stonesmithing, lumbermilling, tanning, and alchemy. So you're gonna have to outsource one or two items for every craft.

Mained a Tank and its pretty much useless. U can lvl faster solo as a DPS or in Trio/Quads without a tank. In PvP you are a nothing but a support.

I have done both (as a cleric and bard) and right now alot of the questing and solo mechanics are not fleshed out. It is also more of a group game for many things as well.

Its pretty easy to just find people where you are grinding and hop into a party.

If I build a tool to parse the game logs offline and get combat data to get info and stats on my abilities is that against TOS? It wouldn't be a DPS meter or online parser, just for offline analysis.
