The only reason bots have that permission is if a server gets deleted and made again it can put you back into the server without you needing to be invited it can’t get you “hacked”

do the quest in the first town that asks you to cut trees, mine stones and gather herbs, that will give you a mount. Ignore all other quests for now, go kill mobs

chat with other nearby players that are at the same place as you, try make a small group to take on more monsters at the same time and learn together with other new players

do quests, if you want to, but just know they dont have much rewards and you'll level alot slower. Around level 8-9 I'd try to get into a group of 8 and try to farm as a group, just to experience it and see if that is something you like. Or you could perfectly fine just go on your own.

Will marketplaces be functional at any point soon? I don't see like a local node specific auctionhouse of sorts that the game says there is under Marketplace for "player to player" trades ||unless they mean RP trades where you gather around there...||

That would be my advices.

Oh, and a couple more things:
mobs drop something called Glint, sell it to a vendor when you visit a town. You drop 30-50%(not acurate, not sure how much) of your materials on death, other players can loot it from your corpse. You sell the glint to get copper,silver,gold. You can't drop or lose your copper/silver/gold.

Buy rations from the vendor when you are in town. Bring atleast 100 everytime you go out of town to explore. Bring more if you want, so you can share with people in your party, a lot of players don know about rations. You have very little health/mana-regen if you dont bring it, so it will save you a lot of time between killing monsters. If you don't have rations, press X to sit down, rest and regain mana/hp (super slow).

Explore, explore, explore. Worst scenario, you'll die and respawn. But it's a beautiful world, don't worry too much about just leveling unless you have very little time to play I'd suggest you grind to 10, then you have a bit more spells and skills to try out.

Press K to level up your class skills, weapon skills and stamina skills frequently. Try different stuff, respeccing is free

And again, don't be afraid to just invite people that are killing mobs the same place as you. Don't be scared to talk to others even if you are not used to it. Atleast I find the game a lot more fun if you party up with others now and then. Maybe you play together for an hour or so. Then you meet again another day and that feels good to bump into someone you previously played together with 🙂

Do the quest, in the starting zone till you have a horse and the gathering tools. After that I would only kill mobs. You can go north to Lionhold and kill the goblins to lvl up easily 🙂 And dont take it too seriously. Its an alpha. So have fun and explore 😄

i think they plan on having different trees per class to flesh out, i think at the moment its more of a charcuterie of skills per class to test interactions in skills rather then having a just ice or fire or lighting mage

So you have to differenciate between apartmenets (instanced houses), houses and freeholds. The apartments and houses will be placed by a mayor in the city on a designated plot. Freeholds on the other hand can be placed in the zones "estate". Only one freehold per estate zone will be possible if im not mistaken.

There's going to be four schools of augmentation for each archetype. One of the schools for the mage is the teleport school. You can take that teleport augment, apply it to your charge skill: now instead of charging x distance over time you're going to immediately teleport to the target dealing x damage and a condition modifier. There is "faster" travel available through some afk options at stables of nodes planned (sort of carriage ride thing.) And the scientific metro fast travel teleport is only between towers that are built by mayor that choose to use that build slot in their vassal nodes (don't have to be scientific) of that specific scientific metro. All stuff to be developed later.

Some of the contents basically impossible solo (raid bosses for example) some of the content is pretty easy solo if your pulling one at a time and giving yourself downtime between pulls. The stars next to mob name indicate how strong the mobs are with mobs with more stars being more challenging. Mobs with no stars are generally very soloable.

This, if true, would be a major change to how Intrepid has explained their monetization in the past. There is no region locking except in the case of "harmonized" servers. If I pay my $15 I can play on US servers, EU servers, OCE, or anywhere else. If I want to pay a lower price to say play on SA servers and get that "harmonized" price, I would be locked to those specific SA servers, and would need to purchase the overall $15 sub if I wanted to play anywhere else. The statement that if I want to play on EU I need to pay one sub fee, and if I want to play on US I need another would be a major change and doubt that was what was intended to be communicated.

Numbers during the alpha aren't relevant to the gen pop, and non-relevant information can be spun out of context and used against you. As amazingly transparent as Intrepid/Steven have been, there's a reasonable line to draw.

While we are in the stability stage and not the marketing stage, you still don't want to self inflict any wounds, and they are actively managing issues such as the DieAsmonDie drama.

To be clear, a lot of managing that particular situation isn't in game; its out. Steven's interview with Thor/Piratesoft, whether preplanned or not, did a lot to reassure people. The PTR updates have as well. Of course there's always trolls/naysayers/useful idiots, but from what I've seen thus far there's enough good actors/fans out there that the misinformation has been limited.

I strongly suspect a large portion of why A2 was so delayed and is so surprisingly good is the understanding that you can't trust a modern mob to understand not just what an alpha actually is, but that whether they liked it or not the A2 was always going to function as early access to a lot of people. Just casually skimming in game chat, this discord, reddit, twitch, etc shows in alarming detail how many folks didn't understand the assignment and didn't bother to do any of the required reading.

I think if you're paying $120 and asking if it's worth it then you're in the wrong mindset... Yes $120 is a lot of money to "play" something that isn't even a game (yet). But when you compare that to AAA games that you pay $70 for each year with minimal changes then it doesn't look too bad.

Just in the last 3 weekends there have been some significant changes to gameplay but we're not even in phase 2 yet.

TLDR: the more you play and feedback, the more you'll get for your $120.

I think Narc said that the servers in US are fairly distinct in what their focus is (PVP/streamers/chillin'). And that has apparently also affected what kind of vibe the server as a whole has. @heavy rover Arioch seems to be the most PvE EU server from what we can tell. All around chill fun times. Random clerics will pass by your dead body and resurrect you. Ran the whole map for 19 hours on Monday and not a single PvP encounter

they should work just fine imo, only thing that might stop it is if it gets flagged as a ddos attempt, latency isnt bad in alpha anyway , stevens doing black magic with the servers and oce -> na is alright, at its very worst maybe 150 ping which is alot less than the 220-400 you see in some other games

Crafting involves a considerable time investment, and trade is very open. Becoming a high-end crafter with good skills and recipes will be very important.
